Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3311: The Shocked And Awed Youngsters

Chapter 3311: The Shocked And Awed Youngsters

Before anyone could speak, Shrubby crouched.

Then he launched forward.

WHOOSH

The world blurred into streaks of blue and white.

The Patriarch and elders saw the colossal beast turn into a streak of red light. Within a couple of seconds Little Shrubby had already vanished beyond the horizon, leaving behind a vast shockwave that stirred the waters for several kilometers.

Patriarch Haiyang exhaled slowly. "That is much faster than I expected."

High Elder Shanhu Rong nodded. "Faster than any Immortal ship we have ever seen."

Some of the clan’s youngsters who had gathered nearby were still staring at the place where the group had vanished, unsure if their eyes had deceived them.

Back on Little Shrubby’s back, the five awakened youths were experiencing what true speed meant.

The world around them warped into a rapid blend of colors. Although the harness shielded them from the wind pressure, the force of momentum still hit their bodies like a physical wave. Their stomachs rose into their throats and their hearts pounded wildly.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Shanhu Jie shrieked first.

It was a short sound, cut off when he realized he had run out of breath.

"Mommy..." Shanhu Ying started crying silently.

Shanhu Dian clutched the harness straps so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Shanhu Qing shut her eyes and muttered something that sounded like a prayer to her ancestors.

Shanhu Guimen tried to maintain some dignity, but even she could not stop a small scream from escaping her lips.

Cattaleya laughed heartily. "Relax. This is just his warm up speed!"

The youngsters did not find that comforting.

But after about a minute of this, the shock started to fade. Their bodies adjusted to the strange sensation, and the fear gave way to awe. They began to look around, realizing that they were experiencing something very few people in the world would ever witness.

The sea beneath them moved so fast they could barely track the waves. Flying beasts in the skies appeared as brief blurs before vanishing into the distance. Islands that should have taken hours to reach passed by in mere moments.

Not long after, Shanhu Jie leaned forward and pointed weakly. "Was that... Coconut Grove Island?"

Shanhu Guimen swallowed hard. "Yes. But that is fifty kilometers away from our clan."

Shanhu Ying blinked. "We passed it in only a few minutes...?"

Lin Mu nodded. "Little Shrubby can cross thousands of kilometers in a day if he runs continuously."

The five youngsters exchanged looks of disbelief and admiration.

Hours passed. During this time, Lin Mu relied on the youngsters’ memories to navigate the vast ocean. They identified reefs, island silhouettes, and clusters of floating sea plants that marked certain routes. Their confidence grew steadily. So did their excitement.

Under the bright sunlight, with the wind flowing through their hair and the endless sea stretching in every direction, they finally understood why so many traveling cultivators spoke fondly of adventure.

The Ninth Sea was still far away, but they were closing in rapidly.

The journey across the ocean was long, yet neither dull nor monotonous. The sea revealed its countless faces as Little Shrubby sped forward, his powerful limbs skimming across the water while arcs of lightning and traces of fire trailed behind him.

The five Shanhu Clan youngsters clung to their harness straps, half in awe and half in disbelief at the pace of their travel. They had left the Seventh Sea several hours ago. The waters there had been lively and bright.

Merkin could sometimes be seen diving beneath the waves, harvesting sea plants or fishing. Fishkin warriors patrolled the deeper regions, riding on domesticated aquatic beasts and carrying luminous coral spears.

Several smaller tribes lived on floating platforms anchored with spiritual chains to reef clusters. Colorful fish darted in the currents, and the sky above remained clear.

The youngsters spoke with pride about their home sea, explaining how peaceful it usually was compared to others. Although dangerous beasts existed, the cooperation between Merkin, Fishkin, and the Shanhu clan had kept the Seventh Sea relatively safe.

By the time the sun began to sink lower in the sky, the colors of the water around them had shifted.

Little Shrubby crossed an invisible boundary.

The Eighth Sea lay before them.

The change was not abrupt but undeniable. The water darkened into a rich deep blue, so deep that even with Lin Mu’s immortal sense it felt bottomless. The sky took on a heavier hue, as if the clouds lingering above had grown thicker and more brooding. The wind stiffened slightly and a faint chill spread through the air.

Lin Mu immediately sensed the difference.

"This place feels heavier," Lin Mu murmured.

Elyon nodded. "The Eighth Sea is full of strong aquatic beasts. Almost no intelligent races live here. Most avoid it unless absolutely necessary."

The youngsters confirmed this.

Shanhu Ying whispered, "Even our clan avoids traveling through the Eighth Sea unless we have no choice. It is said that the beasts here never stop fighting among themselves. They are territorial, aggressive, and frighteningly strong."

Little Shrubby continued to run, unfazed by the thicker air and turbulent water. The surface below them churned with powerful currents. Lin Mu glanced down and saw immense shadows moving beneath the waves.

Within minutes they spotted their first beast.

A colossal Immortal thresher shark surged upward, its massive tail longer than several meters. Its body was shaped like an enormous wedge of metal, but its skin shimmered with a faint metallic sheen.

Its dorsal fin alone was as tall as a house. When it leapt from the water, its mouth gaped open, revealing rows of serrated teeth that glowed faintly with spiritual energy.

Shanhu Dian squeaked and pointed at it. "That creature is easily at the Third Tribulation Stage of the Immortal realm!"

The shark fell back into the water with a thunderous splash. A wave rose high enough that even Little Shrubby had to adjust his footing on the surface.

Before they could settle from this sight, the next creature appeared.
