Chapter 3401: Healing The Two

Chapter 3401: Healing The Two

Lin Mu stood beside Meng Bai’s bed, silent and steady like a pillar that had existed long before any of them were born. His expression remained unreadable, but the quiet intensity in his gaze made it clear that he was assessing Meng Bai with absolute focus.

The healers glanced at each other.

One finally stepped forward and whispered, "Senior, forgive our curiosity, but may we ask your identity? Only relatives or masters are allowed through the formation. We assume you are related to the young man?"

Lin Mu did not look away from Meng Bai as he responded simply.

"I am his master."

The healers stiffened in respect. Now it made sense. Only a master of significant standing would have been permitted to pass the barrier that identified the closest relation to the injured competitor.

On the other side of the room, Dongxu Ning’s eyes widened a little. ’Master? This man was Meng Bai’s master?’

She looked at Meng Bai, then at Lin Mu again.

She could feel that the connection between the two went beyond simple mentorship. There was a calm familiarity in the way Lin Mu stood there, unconcerned by the healers’ presence. A sense of authority that came from experience, not arrogance.

Lin Mu finally used his immortal sense and passed it through Meng Bai’s body. What he found made him nod slightly.

There were surface level injuries. Cuts, bruises, minor fractures. Nothing particularly threatening. His meridians, however, were strained. Not damaged, but pushed near their limit.

It was likely from using his Dao Skill while his spirit Qi had been almost fully depleted. A common repercussion for cultivators who forced their Dao beyond its comfortable threshold.

But Meng Bai would heal.

Lin Mu pulled his immortal sense back.

One healer stepped forward with a polite bow. "Honored master, you need not worry. We have already fed him recovery pills and applied stabilizing salves. He will be completely healed in a few days."

Another healer added, "His condition is stable. He only needs natural recovery and rest."

Lin Mu nodded calmly.

Then he did something none of them expected.

Without warning, without changing expression, Lin Mu slightly lowered his head and began to whisper.

It was so faint that at first it sounded like murmuring. But then the air changed.

Every healer in the room stiffened as a shift swept through the environment.

The aura surrounding Lin Mu grew deeper. Calmer. Warmer. Verdant energy flickered into existence like the glow of spring sunlight. A subtle fragrant breeze filled the chamber, and spiritual energy pulsed through the room like a calm heartbeat.

Dongxu Ning felt her breath catch.

The healers felt their knees weaken.

It was like standing in the embrace of the world itself.

Nature. Life. Warmth. Creation.

A single phrase left the lips of one healer.

"Is that... a Peak Grade Healing Technique?"

He did not dare speak louder. It felt sacrilegious.

Lin Mu’s eyes remained half closed.

Green energy formed into a thin tendril that extended from his palm like a living vine. It curled gently around Meng Bai’s unconscious form and sank into his body.

Meng Bai’s wounds began to heal instantly.

Cuts closed. Bruises faded. Bones aligned. Meridians relaxed. Spirit Qi circulation normalized.

It was as if decades worth of healing medicines were packed into a single breath.

Just a few seconds later, Meng Bai’s eyelids fluttered.

His voice came out groggy at first.

"Master...?"

Lin Mu stopped chanting and nodded. "You won."

Meng Bai blinked slowly. Confusion crossed his face for a moment. And then it all rushed back. The fight. The desperation. The awakening of his Dao Embryo. The final strike.

His eyes widened and a grin broke out.

"I won!"

He practically jumped up, then winced as if remembering the pain he had felt earlier, only to realize that it was gone.

Completely gone.

No pain. No exhaustion. Not even residual soreness.

He stared at his hands in disbelief.

Dongxu Ning could not help but chuckle. His reaction was so genuine and childlike that she found herself smiling despite her own pride being wounded.

Lin Mu turned to her then, and she immediately sat up straighter.

Being under Lin Mu’s gaze felt like a mountain settling its weight upon her. Not in hostility, but in sheer presence. His eyes were calm, but she felt as though he could see far more than her physical injuries.

He spoke in a smooth, collected tone.

"Thank you for helping Meng Bai push his limits."

Dongxu Ning blinked.

’Help him?’

She had not exactly intended to help anyone. She had fought to win. She had gone all out. And yet Meng Bai’s master was thanking her as if she had done him a favor.

Flustered, she bowed her head unconsciously.

"I... I only fought properly. That is all."

Lin Mu nodded. "Good. You are talented. You will have a bright future."

Dongxu Ning felt her face heat up. Praise was not something she usually reacted to, but hearing it from him felt... different.

Before she could gather her composure, Lin Mu lifted one hand.

A second tendril of green nature energy appeared.

"What...?"

Dongxu Ning did not finish the sentence before the energy wrapped around her gently, like a breeze from a tranquil meadow.

The healers gasped.

"Healing her as well..."

"This level of healing..."

"We could not heal her for weeks at minimum..."

They watched in awe as the green energy seeped into Dongxu Ning’s bone structure. The inky water wounds she had suffered were stubborn, resistant due to their Dao nature. But the healing heart Sutra did not fight them with force.

It soothed. It dissolved. It harmonized.

Slowly, the dark wounds vanished. Jade-like radiance returned to her skin. Her Qi circulation smoothed out. The lingering numbness disappeared. Even her Dao Embryo regained stability.

By the time Lin Mu withdrew the energy, she felt as if she could enter another match right away.

She sat up fully, shock etched into her face.

"I... I am healed?"
