Chapter 3472: Time To Complete The Water Core
Hearing Lin Mu’s words, Elyon exhaled slowly. "That could indeed cause... commotion."
Meng Bai’s eyes widened. "Is it dangerous?"
"It can be," Lin Mu answered honestly. "Not to me, but to the surroundings if uncontrolled. I would rather not be in the middle of a densely populated city when it happens."
Cattaleya grinned. "So somewhere scenic, isolated, and sturdy. Got it."
With their criteria set, Daoist Chu began searching in earnest. The Khwanzim World had no shortage of accommodations, but most were either embedded deep within the city or clustered along trade routes.
It took some time before one particular listing stood out.
"The White Bubble Inn," Daoist Chu read aloud.
Elyon leaned over to look. "An inn?"
"More like a retreat," Daoist Chu corrected. "It is small. Only three lodgings total, each an independent courtyard. No shared walls."
"And location?" Lin Mu asked.
Daoist Chu’s lips curved into a faint smile. "Two kilometers off the coast. Built on a small cluster of natural islands."
Cattaleya whistled. "On the ocean?"
"Yes," Daoist Chu said. "The inn is anchored by formations that stabilize the islands and protect against tides and storms. Most guests go there to rest, cultivate quietly, or simply enjoy the scenery. It is considered a luxury retreat rather than a standard stop."
Meng Bai hesitated. "Is it safe?"
Elyon answered that one. "Safer than most places. The formations are strong, and its isolation means fewer unwanted eyes. And from what the rumors have been saying, its owner is also quite strong and wealthy.
It used to be his own private residence, but he hasn’t been there much for the last few hundred years, so turned it into an Inn to get extra income."
Lin Mu did not need to think any further.
"That will do," he said.
The decision was made.
They departed the city shortly thereafter, rising into the air in a loose formation. The urban sprawl quickly receded behind them, replaced by the rhythmic expanse of the vast ocean.
Flying above the water felt different.
The air was heavy with moisture and latent Water Dao. Lin Mu could feel his Water Core responding subtly, resonating with the endless sea below. It was not agitation, but anticipation.
As they approached the islands, the White Bubble Inn came into view.
It was understated.
Three small islands sat close together, connected by elegant stone bridges reinforced with transparent formation barriers. Each island held a single courtyard, built in a circular fashion with pale white stone walls that shimmered faintly under sunlight.
The main structure, which served as reception and service quarters, sat on the central island. Its roof was domed, smooth, and almost pearl like in appearance.
The name made sense.
The inn looked as though it were wrapped in a translucent bubble, the light bending softly around it.
As they descended, Lin Mu immediately sensed the quality of the formations.
They were refined.
Not aggressive.
Designed to harmonize with the ocean rather than dominate it.
Water flowed freely beneath and around the islands, currents guided subtly to reduce pressure and erosion. Even the ambient spiritual energy felt balanced, neither too dense nor too thin.
"This place is good," Lin Mu said quietly.
The innkeeper greeted them personally, a calm middle aged man with pale blue hair and eyes the color of clear water. He bowed politely, clearly recognizing Lin Mu’s status without making a show of it.
Their courtyard was assigned quickly.
Once inside, Lin Mu stepped onto the edge of the island and looked out at the ocean.
Waves stretched endlessly in every direction.
The horizon shimmered.
Below him, the Water Dao whispered.
The Dragon Pearl rested within his spatial ring, heavy with promise.
He inhaled slowly.
This was the right place.
Here, surrounded by the ocean and supported by Ocean oriented formations, he would finally complete his Water Core.
And whatever followed after that, whether calm or storm, he would face it head on.
But Lin Mu did not rush.
If there was one thing his journey had taught him, it was that moments of true change were never to be treated lightly, no matter how confident one was in their own foundations.
Before he even began, he went to inform the staff of the White Bubble Inn personally.
The innkeeper listened attentively, his pale blue eyes narrowing slightly as Lin Mu explained that he would be cultivating and that a breakthrough of sorts was expected. There was no arrogance in Lin Mu’s tone, only calm transparency, which the man appreciated.
"As long as it is not an Immortal Tribulation," the innkeeper replied after a brief pause, "it should be fine. Many of our guests cultivate here for that very reason. The formations are designed to withstand heavy energy fluctuations."
Lin Mu nodded. "It will not be a tribulation."
"Even so," the innkeeper said, already pulling out a jade slip, "I will have the defensive arrays reinforced around your courtyard. Just in case."
Lin Mu inclined his head slightly in thanks.
Word spread quietly among the staff, and preparations were made without fanfare. The formations surrounding Lin Mu’s courtyard were subtly strengthened, their energy flow adjusted to prioritize containment and stability rather than concealment.
The ocean currents beneath the islands were also gently redirected to reduce interference, a testament to the inn’s experience in handling unusual guests.
Meanwhile, Lin Mu’s companions relocated.
Daoist Chu, Elyon, Meng Bai, and Cattaleya moved to another courtyard farther from Lin Mu’s. The staff had no objections. The inn was basically empty at the moment, and the group paid in full without complaint.
In fact, one entire courtyard still remained unused even after the relocation.
"It feels strange," Meng Bai muttered as they settled in. "Like waiting outside a storm shelter."
Cattaleya crossed her arms but did not joke this time. "Whatever happens, it will be big."
Lin Mu, for his part, wasted no time once alone.
The first thing he did was set up his own formations.
While the White Bubble Inn’s arrays were impressive, Lin Mu trusted his own work more when it came to something as personal as his Dao.
