Chapter 3599: Perhaps The Strongest Spatial Dao Embryo
Lin Mu gave a small nod.
"In theory," he said. "But I have not fully mastered it yet. The energy consumption is significant. And the farther the world, the greater the cost."
He paused briefly before adding.
"For now, I can only target worlds I have already visited."
Xueyan remained completely still.
His mind was racing.
This was no longer just impressive.
This was...
Absurd.
He swallowed before asking, almost hesitantly now.
"Does that mean... you could travel to other realms as well? The Mortal Realm... the Celestial Realm... or even beyond?"
Lin Mu considered for a moment before answering.
"Theoretically," he said. "Yes."
Xueyan’s jaw slowly dropped.
Theoretically.
That single word carried an unimaginable weight.
Even if it was not yet achieved, the mere possibility meant that the foundation of this Dao Embryo surpassed almost anything he had ever heard of.
And yet...
This was only the first ability.
His excitement surged once more, now even stronger than before.
"If this is just the first facet..." Xueyan muttered, almost trembling, "then there should be more... right?"
He looked up at Lin Mu, eyes shining.
"Four facets... that means at least four abilities!"
Lin Mu gave a slight nod.
"That is my assumption as well," he said. "But I have not reached the level required to unlock the others."
Xueyan clenched his fists unconsciously, his tail swaying rapidly behind him.
"This... this is incredible..." he said.
He took a step back, trying to organize his thoughts, but the more he thought, the more overwhelmed he became.
"I know of other Spatial Dao Embryos with similar abilities," he said quickly, almost as if trying to compare.
"There is the Void Key Spatial Dao Embryo," he began. "It has the Dao Skill ’Realm Gate’. It allows traversal between realms, but it does not target specific worlds."
He raised a finger, continuing.
"And then there is the Infinite Worlds Mirror Dao Embryo. Its Dao Skill ’World Projection’ allows travel between worlds, but it does not extend across different realms."
He looked back at Lin Mu’s Dao Embryo, his voice lowering in awe.
"But yours..."
He shook his head slowly.
"...combines both."
The realization settled heavily in the air.
This was not just a superior version.
This was something that bridged concepts that were usually separate.
A Dao Embryo that did not choose between realms and worlds.
But encompassed both.
Xueyan let out a slow breath, his earlier excitement now mixed with something deeper.
Reverence.
"I... I think this might be one of the strongest Spatial Dao Embryos in existence..." he said honestly.
Then, after a brief pause, he added quietly.
"...if not the strongest."
And in that moment, as he stood before the swirling nebula of space itself, Xueyan felt something ignite within him once more.
Not just admiration.
But ambition.
If this was the peak...
Then he wanted to climb toward it.
No matter how far away it seemed.
After an hour of rest, the group resumed their journey.
Little Shrubby had woken up refreshed, stretching his massive body before letting out a satisfied yawn that echoed faintly across the forest.
His golden eyes gleamed with renewed vigor, and without needing any prompting, he crouched low and launched forward once more.
BOOM
The ground beneath him cracked slightly from the force, and in the next instant, he was already racing ahead like a streak of flame through the wilderness.
WHOOSH
The wind roared past them, though the protective formation kept it from becoming uncomfortable.
Xueyan, who had already adjusted to Shrubby’s speed by now, still couldn’t help but feel a thrill every time they accelerated. His ears fluttered in the rushing air, and his tail swayed with excitement, even as he tried to maintain some composure.
"This speed..." he muttered under his breath, glancing at the terrain blurring beneath them. "Even many flying vessels wouldn’t match this..."
Lin Mu remained calm, standing steadily atop Shrubby’s back, his gaze fixed forward.
His mind, however, was not idle. He was constantly observing, sensing, and analyzing everything around them. The closer they got to the Mother Forest, the more subtle changes he began to notice.
At first, it was faint.
Then it became undeniable.
Two days later, Shrubby gradually slowed down, coming to a halt as Lin Mu raised a hand.
They had reached it.
At first glance, there was nothing unusual.
The forest ahead looked perfectly normal. Trees stood tall and evenly spaced, their leaves swaying gently in the breeze. The ground was covered in soft grass, and the air carried a faint earthy fragrance that felt soothing to the senses.
Too soothing.
Lin Mu’s eyes narrowed slightly.
This kind of perfection... was unnatural.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment, then opened them again as his Spatial Perception expanded outward.
And instantly, the truth revealed itself.
Beneath the seemingly ordinary forest lay something vast.
An immense structure.
No.
Not a structure in the traditional sense.
It was alive.
Lin Mu could see the threads now. They were flows of natural energy interwoven through every tree, every root, every stone. The entire forest was acting as a medium, a living foundation for something far greater.
"A Natural Array..." Lin Mu murmured softly.
It was not a constructed array.
It was grown.
The ecology itself had become the array.
Xueyan, hearing this, nodded with a hint of pride.
"We’ve reached the boundary of the Mother Forest," he said. "This entire region is protected by the Grand Forest Array. Without permission, no one can pass through it."
Meng Bai stared ahead, his eyes wide as he tried to sense what Lin Mu had just described. Though his perception was far weaker, he could still feel something... vast and incomprehensible lurking beneath the surface.
"So... we can’t go further?" he asked.
Xueyan shook his head.
"We can," he replied. "But we need to be acknowledged first."
Lin Mu nodded and reached into his storage ring, retrieving the entry token that Minister Ren had given him. It was a finely crafted object, infused with both authority and identity, its surface faintly glowing with intricate runic patterns.
