Chapter 3649: Man And Earth Elemental Versus Lava Elemental

Chapter 3649: Man And Earth Elemental Versus Lava Elemental

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions echoed across the lava sea as massive splashes of molten rock erupted into the air. Hundreds of lava tentacles lashed violently, colliding against something massive.

But what they struck was not ordinary terrain.

It was moving.

"An Earth Elemental?" Meng Bai asked, his eyes widening.

"Looks like it," Daoist Chu replied, narrowing his gaze. "It appears to be fighting the same type of creature we encountered earlier."

"Is that thing also a Fire Elemental? A Great or Greater one?" Meng Bai asked, intrigued.

"No," Lin Mu shook his head. "It contains Fire Qi, but also Earth and Metal Qi."

"So... a Lava Elemental," Cattaleya concluded.

"This one is much larger," Elyon added.

"Should we intervene?" Shrubby asked.

"No," Lin Mu said firmly. "We go around."

WHOOSH

Shrubby shifted direction immediately, moving at least ten kilometers away from the battlefield. Even at that distance, the sounds of combat remained intense, and waves of lava occasionally reached their position, along with fragments of shattered rock.

The Earth Elemental appeared larger, though that was partly due to the Lava Elemental being mostly submerged. Only its tentacles were visible above the surface.

The Earth Elemental’s upper body rose from the lava, its massive arms resembling boulders. It lacked any defined facial features, appearing as a torso of pure stone.

"GUOOOHHHH!"

It let out a deep, rumbling cry before raising its arms and slamming them down with tremendous force.

The lava tentacles struck it repeatedly, only to shatter and reform.

The battle continued.

Lin Mu observed carefully.

Then a sharp sound was heard.

SHING

His eyes widened.

He felt something.

A sudden arc of energy appeared behind the Lava Elemental, slicing through dozens of tentacles at once. The attack glowed with orange and yellow hues, rich with Fire Qi.

But there was something more.

"Sword Intent?" Lin Mu murmured.

"How is that possible here?" Meng Bai asked in shock.

"Someone is here," Elyon said, sensing a presence.

More slashes followed.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

Each strike disrupted the Lava Elemental’s movements, preventing it from retaliating against the Earth Elemental.

"Someone is assisting it?" Lin Mu wondered.

The Earth Elemental took advantage of the opening. It surged forward, its body displacing massive waves of lava. Its arms expanded, transforming into towering pillars before slamming down into a precise location.

SPLASH!

The lava parted, revealing the true body of the Lava Elemental.

It resembled a massive octopus, with hundreds of writhing tentacles and an oblong body. At its center, a dark orange core pulsed with energy.

"So that is its form," Daoist Chu said.

"So big..." Meng Bai gasped.

It was enormous.

Twice the size of the Earth Elemental.

Then another slash appeared.

SHING

"Haha! Well done, Rocky!" a loud voice rang out.

They all turned toward the source.

A man stood there. He was middle-aged and his black hair tied neatly. He wore dark brown robes adorned with golden details and a wide golden belt. His eyes glowed with a faint yellow light, and in his hand was a large black sword.

The sword itself was unique. Its pommel ended in a sharp, diamond-shaped structure, holding a silver crystal. The hilt featured another crystal, pink in color, embedded at its center.

The man’s beard was carefully trimmed into sharp points, giving him a fierce and refined appearance.

Lin Mu’s breath hitched as he saw the man.

SHING

The man struck again.

His sword cut through the Lava Elemental’s body.

The core shifted just in time, avoiding destruction.

"Tch... Rocky, hold it down!" the man shouted.

"GUOHHHH!"

The Earth Elemental responded.

The lava seabed rose, forming rocky islands. Its arms transformed into a massive plate covered in spikes, which it slammed down onto the elemental.

The octopus was pinned.

The ground trembled.

The creature struggled.

The man landed on one of the islands and took a deep breath.

HAAH

"Flame Slayer Dwarven Style!" he declared.

Three energies surged from him.

Metal Qi.

Fire Qi.

Sword Intent.

His sword ignited with intense flames, growing larger and sharper.

Once the energy reached the peak, he swung.

BOOM!

The attack split the island and cleaved the Lava Elemental in half.

"It is regenerating!" Meng Bai shouted.

The man smirked.

"Not so fast."

He launched forward, flames bursting from his legs.

Before the halves could reconnect, he reached the core.

His hand transformed into a flaming claw resembling that of a dragon.

With the claw he pierced straight through the body and grasped the core before bursting out the other side.

SPLASH!

He landed just before lava splashed everywhere from the Octopus’s body.

KACHA!

The core shattered in his grip and the Lava Elemental died instantly. Its form collapsed, turning into lifeless molten rock.

Silence followed as everyone watched in awe.

But for Lin Mu...

There was something more.

"It is..." he whispered but found it hard to finish.

The battlefield fell silent after the destruction of the Lava Elemental.

The molten sea, which had moments ago been writhing with violent energy and towering tentacles, now calmed into a slow, heavy churn. The glow of the lava reflected across the rocky islands that had been formed during the battle, casting long, flickering shadows over the figures that remained.

Lin Mu and the others hovered at a distance, still processing what they had just witnessed.

The man had defeated a Lava Elemental.

Not just any elemental, but one of considerable size and power. And he had done so with the assistance of an Earth Elemental. That alone was enough to leave them stunned. But what truly unsettled them was something else entirely.

He had communicated with it.

Not through vague signals or instinctive reactions. But clearly with deliberate commands, almost as if speaking to an equal.

Meng Bai finally broke the silence.

"Did... did that just happen?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

Cattaleya folded her arms, her eyes still locked on the man in the distance.

"He gave it orders," she said. "And it obeyed."

Elyon narrowed his gaze, analyzing the scene with a thoughtful expression.
