Chapter 3763: Primordial Titan Vessel Physique
As Lin Mu heard Xukong’s words, a big question appeared in his mind.
"If it was truly that powerful," Lin Mu asked, "how did he still die?"
The answer confused him.
Little Bull possessed tremendous strength. He had survived a fall that should have killed him instantly. His body had remained preserved even after death. Everything pointed toward an extraordinary physique.
Yet he had still died in a ravine.
Xukong was silent for a few moments before replying.
"He did not die from his injuries."
Lin Mu frowned.
"Then what killed him?"
"Starvation."
The answer stunned him.
"Starvation?"
"Yes."
Xukong sounded almost regretful.
"The Primordial Titan Vessel Physique possesses a terrible weakness during its early stages. It demands enormous amounts of nourishment."
The spider continued explaining.
"Most physiques absorb energy from heaven and earth to sustain themselves. This physique relies heavily upon physical nutrition during its early development."
Realization slowly dawned on Lin Mu.
Little Bull never learned cultivation.
He never cultivated body techniques.
He never progressed beyond the most basic state.
"He remained stuck in the initial phase," Lin Mu understood.
"Exactly."
Xukong nodded.
"If he had learned even a simple body cultivation technique, his physique would have stabilized. After that he could have sustained himself through spiritual energy and vitality."
"But he never did."
The spider sighed.
"So his body consumed increasingly greater amounts of nourishment as he grew stronger."
Lin Mu looked down at the corpse as everything suddenly made sense. Little Bull had survived the fall, he had climbed, he had fallen and he had climbed again. Each attempt consumed immense amounts of energy.
With no food and no water, his body would have exhausted its reserves rapidly.
A normal mortal might survive several weeks, but Little Bull’s extraordinary physique likely accelerated the process.
"He probably survived for a week or two," Xukong estimated. "Then his body finally ran out of energy."
Silence filled the cave.
Lin Mu looked at the young man’s peaceful face.
The villagers had called him simple. Some believed he lacked talent. Others thought he had been abandoned because he was different. Yet the truth was far crueler. Little Bull possessed one of the rarest physiques in existence.
A physique that countless body cultivators would dream of possessing. And he had died at the bottom of a ravine without ever knowing what he truly was. Now Lin Mu felt certain that this was the person he had been searching for.
Lin Mu stared at Little Bull’s corpse for a long while.
The more he looked at the young man, the more suitable he seemed.
In fact, after learning about the Primordial Titan Vessel Physique, Lin Mu found it difficult to imagine a better candidate.
Little Bull possessed tremendous physical strength despite never cultivating.
Lin Mu possessed overwhelming physical strength through body cultivation.
Little Bull had an unknown physique that nobody in the village truly understood.
Lin Mu possessed the Burdenless Dominator Physique, a physique that was entirely unique to him and unknown to the outside world.
Even if someone examined him and found traces of extraordinary bodily strength, they would simply attribute it to Little Bull’s mysterious physique. There was no one in the Holy Chrysalis World capable of identifying the difference.
That alone solved one of Lin Mu’s largest concerns. The second concern was even easier: Memories.
Little Bull was already known for being eccentric.
The villagers described him as simple minded, straightforward, and somewhat slow in understanding complicated matters. He was beloved because of his sincerity rather than his intelligence.
Now there was a perfect excuse... Head injuries.
Lin Mu looked at the scars on the corpse’s forehead and temples. The man had fallen hundreds of times while attempting to climb out of the ravine. If Lin Mu appeared claiming he had survived but lost many of his memories, few would question it.
A man falling from great heights repeatedly and suffering memory loss was entirely believable.
Even Elder He Jian would likely accept it.
And if difficult questions appeared, Lin Mu had an answer ready.
"I don’t know."
"I forgot."
"I don’t remember."
The more Lin Mu thought about it, the more perfect the situation became.
He had even practiced personalities similar to this during the past month.
Compared to acting as a scholar, a young master, or some sophisticated disciple, acting as a simple and honest village youth would be considerably easier. After all, Lin Mu already possessed many of those qualities and he had even been a simple villager before.
He merely needed to simplify them further.
The decision was made.
"This is him." Lin Mu said quietly.
Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang looked at him.
"The identity?" Xiao Yang asked.
Lin Mu nodded.
"The identity."
The twins exchanged glances before nodding in approval. Even they had to admit that Little Bull seemed ideal. Lin Mu took one final look at the corpse before beginning. He sat cross legged within the cave and slowly calmed his mind.
The Absolute Body Control Art circulated throughout his body.
Immediately, the familiar pain began as his bones trembled, his muscles shifted and his skin stretched and contracted. Lin Mu closed his eyes and focused entirely on the transformation. This was far more extensive than his previous experiments.
He was no longer making simple adjustments, he was completely reshaping himself into another person.
His cheekbones gradually altered, his jaw broadened, his nose shifted shape and the structure of his skull changed little by little. The process was slow, painfully slow and every adjustment felt as if countless tiny chisels were carving away at his body.
Fortunately, Lin Mu had long grown accustomed to suffering.
The transformation continued as hours passed.
Ashy periodically relayed information through their connection.
The villagers had already informed Elder He Jian and the elder had agreed to investigate. He would depart in the morning.
That information only increased Lin Mu’s urgency as he knew the old man was a Fifth Tribulation Immortal. Once he arrived, searching the ravine would be simple. Finding Little Bull’s corpse would not take him long.
Thus Lin Mu pushed himself harder.
