Chapter 3767: A Simple Honest And Pitiful Young Man

Chapter 3767: A Simple, Honest And Pitiful Young Man

The old man sat down nearby before finally speaking about the reason he had come here. "I came here to bring you back."

Lin Mu immediately looked confused.

"Back?"

"Yes."

"Back where?"

"Home."

The elder smiled kindly. "Back to Honey God Village."

Lin Mu’s confusion only deepened.

"What is that?"

This time He Jian frowned.

The old man studied the young man’s face carefully. There was no sign of lying, and no hesitation.

Only genuine confusion.

The elder suddenly felt a sinking sensation.

"Do you know who you are?" He Jian asked.

Lin Mu lowered his head and he pretended to think. A few moments later he winced as one hand reached toward his head. The motion looked natural because there were indeed injuries there.

"Little..." he muttered.

His brows furrowed.

"Little..."

Another wince.

"Little Bull."

He finally looked up.

"I’m Little Bull."

He Jian’s heart sank as the answer confirmed his suspicion.

’Memory loss.’ The old man thought.

The head injuries were far worse than they appeared so the old man carefully examined them again. The wounds themselves had already healed significantly, yet there were many, far too many.

A normal person would have died from a single one but this young man had somehow endured repeated trauma.

"No wonder..." He Jian thought. "The poor boy lost his memory."

The elder’s gaze softened even further.

Lin Mu meanwhile continued staring at him, the expression was somewhat vacant, like someone waiting for instructions.

"So..." Lin Mu asked. "Who are you?"

He Jian smiled. "My name is He Jian."

The young man nodded. "Oh."

A few seconds later he asked another question.

"Are you strong?"

The elder blinked. "Strong?"

Lin Mu nodded seriously.

"Very strong?"

He Jian chuckled.

"I suppose so."

Lin Mu immediately looked impressed.

His eyes widened.

"Then can you climb out?"

The old man laughed.

The question was so direct that it caught him off guard.

"Yes."

"Oh."

Lin Mu looked genuinely relieved.

"Good."

He Jian could not help smiling. The old man found himself growing fond of the young man rather quickly. Perhaps it was because Little Bull’s thoughts were written entirely on his face.

There was no scheming.

No caution.

No hidden agenda.

Everything seemed straightforward.

At least that was what He Jian perceived.

The elder then extended his immortal sense deeper into the young man’s body. This time he intended to check thoroughly. But the moment he did, his expression changed.

"Hm?"

His eyes narrowed.

He checked again.

Then again.

The more he observed, the more shocked he became.

"What is this?"

The elder’s immortal sense traveled through every inch of the body. The dantian was completely empty, there was no cultivation, no immortal essence, no spiritual Qi, nothing. The young man was effectively a mortal.

And yet...

The vitality within the body was astonishing.

His blood surged like a river, his muscles contained incredible power, and his bones possessed extraordinary density. Every organ functioned at a level far beyond mortals. Even many immortals would be unable to compare.

He Jian’s eyes widened.

"This vitality..."

The old man became increasingly shocked.

"It is already comparable to an immortal."

His immortal sense continued exploring and the more he checked, the more unbelievable it became. The body contained no cultivation. Yet it possessed enough raw physical power to tear apart low level immortal beasts.

Such a thing should have been impossible.

The elder had lived for thousands of years and he had seen countless geniuses. Yet this was the first time he had encountered something like this.

"A special physique?" He Jian muttered.

Lin Mu simply stared at him. "What?"

The elder looked up.

"What do you mean what?"

Lin Mu scratched his head.

"You keep making strange faces."

The old man froze... Then he laughed.

A hearty laugh escaped him.

"Little Bull."

"Yeah?"

"You truly don’t know anything, do you?"

Lin Mu thought for several seconds.

Then he nodded. "I don’t think so."

The answer nearly made He Jian laugh again.

At the same time, however, a thought formed in his mind.

A young man with a mysterious physique. A mortal body carrying vitality comparable to immortals. A simple and honest personality. And now memory loss. Many people would consider such circumstances unfortunate.

He Jian, however, saw something else.

Opportunity.

A very rare opportunity.

The old man looked at the young man again. This time his gaze lingered longer.

Much longer.

And somewhere in the back of his mind, an idea slowly began to take shape. An idea that made him wonder if perhaps this trip to the Holy Chrysalis World had finally yielded something truly worthwhile.

A few minutes later, He Jian ended up carrying Little Bull out of the ravine personally.

The old man had originally intended to simply support the young man and bring him up slowly, but after seeing the countless injuries covering his body, he decided against it. Little Bull had already suffered enough. There was little reason to make him struggle any further.

"Hold still," He Jian said.

Before Lin Mu could react, he felt himself being lifted effortlessly. A moment later, the ground vanished beneath them as the wind howled past and the walls of the ravine began shrinking at an astonishing speed.

Little Bull’s eyes widened, his mouth fell open and then he immediately grabbed onto He Jian’s sleeve.

"You can fly!?" he shouted.

The old man almost laughed.

"I can."

"You can really fly!"

"I can."

"Like a bird?"

He Jian nodded.

"I suppose so."

Little Bull stared at him with unconcealed admiration. For several moments he simply looked at the old man as if he had suddenly become the most incredible person in existence. Then his eyes drifted downward.

The ground was becoming smaller very quickly.

His expression immediately changed.

"We’re so high!"

The young man grabbed onto He Jian’s robes even tighter.

The old man chuckled.

"Scared?"

Little Bull thought for a moment.

Then nodded honestly.

"A little."

The answer was so straightforward that He Jian found himself smiling again. Over the years he had met countless young cultivators. Many of them were talented, many were righteous and many were disciplined.

Yet every single one carried ambitions, calculations and hidden motives.

Even those with the purest reputations often had thoughts they kept hidden.

That was simply human nature.

Little Bull felt completely different. The young man answered whatever was asked. He never tried to sound impressive, he never exaggerated, and he never seemed to think several steps ahead.

Everything he said appeared genuine.

It was strangely refreshing.
