Chapter 3790: Charging Through The Realms
Inside, Lin Mu was carefully limiting himself since the beast appeared slow from his perspective, painfully slow. Yet he couldn’t reveal that. Thus, he deliberately reacted slightly late.
He deliberately missed and deliberately appeared clumsy.
Eventually the leopard committed to an attack and Little Bull managed to catch its tail. The spectators froze at that moment, while the leopard tried escaping. But Little Bull suddenly swung it like a club and smashed it against a tree.
Boom!
SHATTER!
The beast and the tree both exploded as the hall erupted into laughter.
Even several elders chuckled. "That’s one way to do it."
"Crude."
"Effective."
The assessment continued as more Dao Treading beasts appeared, each getting stronger and more varied than before. Some used elemental attacks, some specialized in speed while others relied upon strength.
Little Bull eventually defeated every single one. Most died from a single punch, but the faster opponents survived longer simply because they could avoid him. That alone forced Little Bull to chase them.
The audience found the sight surprisingly entertaining as the strongest recruit of the assessment was running around a forest trying to punch animals. The image was oddly amusing to everyone.
Then the difficulty increased again, and it was time for Immortal Ascension Realm.
The atmosphere changed immediately as the first immortal Ascension realm beast emerged.
A Golden Horned Mountain Ape.
The creature stood over ten meters tall as a mix of Immortal qi and spirit qi flowed through its body. Its presence alone exceeded every opponent before it as the observation areas became completely silent.
This was the true threshold, the boundary between mortals and immortals. No matter how powerful Little Bull appeared, he remained technically a mortal. As such, many wanted to see where his limits lay.
The ape roared, making the forest tremble, while Little Bull stared upward at it. "Big monkey."
As if feeling mocked, the ape charged instantly and its fist descended like a falling mountain. But Little Bull did not dodge or retreat and met it head on.
Boom!
The collision shook the entire illusion as the ape stumbled. But so did Little Bull as gasps echoed throughout the hall. It was the first time they had seen him pushed backward directly like this.
The ape attacked again and again while Little Bull responded with fists. The battle lasted nearly a minute and compared to previous fights, it felt incredibly long. Eventually Little Bull landed a clean punch against the ape’s chest.
Crack!
The beast staggered before another punch followed and then another as the fourth punch shattered its ribs, and the final one destroyed its heart.
The ape dissolved as silence filled the assessment grounds once more. Many disciples stared at the screen. An Immortal Ascension Realm beast had been killed by a mortal!
One of the Administrative Division disciples swallowed. He had spent years cultivating before reaching that realm. But Little Bull had just beaten it to death with his fists, while having no cultivation whatsoever.
An elder finally spoke. "Five hits."
Another nodded slowly. "Five."
The body cultivation elders had already stood up. Their expressions grew increasingly serious.
One of them murmured quietly. "This is beyond talent."
The next beast appeared, then another as Little Bull continued fighting. Each battle required effort and each battle lasted longer, yet the result remained unchanged. The beasts fell one after another as the observation halls became increasingly tense.
Many elders stopped sitting entirely and even Elder He Jian found himself staring intently at the screens. He had known Little Bull was strong but he had never expected this. Finally, after the last Immortal Ascension beast disappeared, the illusion world trembled.
The forest darkened as the sky changed color and a new pressure descended upon the battlefield. Every observer immediately felt it and their expressions changed. Some overseers elsewhere stopped their own assessments and looked toward the screens.
Because they recognized what came next... The True Immortal Realm!
A genuine First Tribulation Stage Immortal Realm opponent!
The first immortal beast of the Immortal Realm slowly emerged from the shadows and the moment it appeared, the entire assessment grounds became silent. No one spoke and no one blinked.
Up until now, the spectators had been entertained, surprised, shocked and amused. But now they were genuinely paying attention and Little Bull was at the center of it all.
Inside the illusionary forest, the air rippled as the figure became clear, a Lance Horn Antelope.
It was a common immortal beast found throughout many immortal worlds. Most cultivators had seen one before, either in the wild or through records.
Yet common did not mean weak.
The beast stood nearly five meters tall at the shoulder. Its body was covered in sleek gray fur that seemed to shimmer with immortal qi. The most striking feature was naturally, its pair of horns. They extended another two meters above its head, appearing less like antlers and more like polished spears forged from silver metal.
The horns curved slightly forward at the top and were utterly sharp and just as deadly, being built for charging. Several disciples watching instinctively frowned as many had fought similar beasts before.
They knew exactly how troublesome they could be. The Lance Horn Antelope possessed explosive speed, exceptional agility and frightening charging power. Even among beasts of the same realm, it was considered troublesome.
The antelope pawed at the ground as its golden eyes locked onto Little Bull.
Little Bull scratched his head and muttered, "Big deer?"
The beast immediately charged.
BOOM!
The ground exploded beneath its hooves and the spectators only managed to see a blur. Little Bull barely managed to raise his arms before impact arrived and a tremendous collision echoed through the forest.
BANG!
This time, unlike every battle before it, Little Bull was sent flying. His body smashed through several trees before crashing into the earth. Witnessing this many people stood up as the difference was obvious.
For the first time, Little Bull was being overwhelmed physically. But the antelope didn’t stop, instead it leaped into the air. Its massive body seemed surprisingly light as it crossed hundreds of meters in a single jump.
The beast descended once more but Little Bull rolled away just before the horns struck.
BANG
The impact created a crater several meters deep and the disciples watching could not help but inhale sharply. Had that strike landed properly, most Dao Treading cultivators would have died instantly.
