Chapter 5025: My Name is 'Feng Jiu'

Chapter 5025: My Name is ‘Feng Jiu’

“Master Song, no need for formalities.” Feng Jiu gestured, “Please sit.”

Song Lingbo and his wife approached the stone table and sat down. Lady Song then said, “Lady Xuanyuan, these three are Mi’er’s brothers.” She turned to look at the trio.

Understanding the gesture, the three stepped forward and bowed in unison: “Song Yihong.”

“Song Yiming.”

“Song Yifan, paying our respects to Lady Xuanyuan.” They spoke in unison, bowing with utmost reverence.

“Mi’er has often spoken of you three. To meet you today, Lady Song, truly speaks to your good fortune,” Feng Jiu said with a smile, looking at Lady Song.

Hearing this, Lady Song couldn’t help but smile. Her gaze toward the children held satisfaction and joy, yet she humbly replied, “Not at all. Don’t be fooled by their appearance—they’re usually quite troublesome.”

“My lady, I’ve heard from my wife about the events at the estate. This time, we truly owe it all to you. Song Lingbo is profoundly grateful,” Song Lingbo stood and declared, this time bowing deeply toward her.

Seeing this, Feng Jiu interjected, “This is Mi’er’s home. I happened to be staying here as a guest. It was merely a small gesture.”

“Lady Xuanyuan’s small gesture saved my wife and averted a crisis for the Song family. To Lady Xuanyuan, it was a mere trifle, but to us, it is a great favor.”

Song Lingbo gazed at her and continued, “Given Lady Xuanyuan’s extraordinary abilities, I doubt I could have done much for you. The only way I can show my gratitude is to personally cook for Lady Xuanyuan during your stay at my residence.”

Hearing this, Feng Jiu smiled. “If you offered anything else, I truly wouldn’t need it. But I do have a passion for fine cuisine. To have the legendary Culinary God Song personally prepare a meal for me would be an immense honor.”

“Right? I told you Father, if he wanted to repay her, the best way would be to cook for her himself, didn’t I?” Mi’er, standing nearby, winked at her father and said with a beaming smile.

“Yes, yes, you’re the smartest,” Lady Song said with amusement, shooting her a playful glare.

“Lady Xuanyuan, I have another matter to discuss with you today,” Song Lingbo stated, his gaze fixed on her.

Seeing this, Feng Jiu smiled and asked, “Are you wondering who I truly am?”

Song Lingbo nodded solemnly. “Precisely. I’m deeply curious about Lady Xuanyuan’s identity. Beyond mere curiosity, I also fear that the Cheng family won’t let this rest. I hope you’ll reveal your background so I can prepare myself mentally.”

His desire to know her identity stemmed partly from curiosity, but more so from apprehension about the Cheng family returning. Should that happen, he knew full well the combat strength his Song family possessed when faced with powerful adversaries at their doorstep. Even as a major clan themselves, they stood no chance against a prestigious family like the Chengs. Thus, he needed to understand her background and origins before making any arrangements.

Feng Jiu’s lips curved slightly as she looked at him and Lady Song, speaking slowly, “My name is Feng Jiu.”

“Feng Jiu?” Lady Song froze, the name leaving her utterly bewildered.

Song Lingbo, however, was jolted to his senses. His eyes widened in disbelief as he shot to his feet, his face betraying unmistakable shock. “You… you are…”

A tidal wave of disbelief crashed through his mind, leaving him utterly speechless.

Feng Jiu?

Wasn’t that the name of the Empress Phoenix Sovereign? Could she… be that legendary Phoenix Sovereign who ascended from the lower realms, became a sovereign ruler, and then slew the Great Emperor Northern Flame, her fame echoing across the lands?
