Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 6358 Cang Lu

Chapter 6358 Cang Lu

A rain of swords sliced through the air. Every single one of them contained enough power to make gods and devils quiver.

As the Earth Cauldron had said, merging with the Grand Dao qi broke the shackles Long Chen had placed on himself. He was like a volcano that had been suppressing its eruption for millions of years. Even though this power was incredibly explosive, every bit of it was entirely under his control.

He could feel and direct each sword: its power, angle, and speed. It was as if he held every blade personally in his hands.

As those swords rained down, the enemies defended with all their might. Of these hundreds of experts, the majority had 998 Sovereign flames, but they quickly became drenched in icy sweat as Long Chen’s onslaught tore through them.

“How is this possible?! Where does his power come from?!” one outsider lifeform roared, disbelief shredding his voice.

How could a man with only 993 Sovereign flames suppress experts of their caliber?

Every single one of these swords gave them a sense of mortal danger. In the first moments, dozens fell to only a handful of strikes. As these swords sliced back and forth, the enemies became horribly lacerated.

Their Divine Sovereign magical items, even at full power, could only shatter a few dozen swords at a time. In comparison to the torrent of swords slicing through them, it was barely a drop in the bucket. They started to panic.

They scrambled to retreat and regroup, trying to turn their backs to each other and form a ring of defense. But their attempt to gather bought time for more to be cut down. By the time they managed to regroup, they were reduced from five hundred to just over one hundred.

The survivors were the strongest among them, each bearing nine hundred ninety-eight Sovereign flames. Yet, the altar was drenched in the blood of their kin.

Seeing their corpses lying on the ground, their blood soaking the ground, Long Chen thought of the tombstones he had seen on Sovereign Mountain.

Long Chen murmured, “The destruction of the Heavenly Daos, the end of the ten thousand laws! A soul cannot rest in peace when the body dies filled with regrets!”

“My soul does not rest! I will be reborn and let the blood of those fiends rain down from the heavens!”

“I slay devils, I walk through the heavens. I alone shall stand at the peak of the world!”

“If this world is mine, then what fear have I of the Netherworld?”

“I throw myself into the Netherworld; my roar shakes this world. The Nether Emperor and Ghost Sovereign kneel beneath me...”

These were the words carved into the gravestones—the dying oaths of fallen heroes.

The ancestors of these lifeforms had once brought calamity to the nine heavens. Because of them, the blood of countless heroes rained through the world, leaving behind only regret and hatred.

“I wish I could have lived in their era,” Long Chen murmured, his voice low and heavy. “I wish they could see me slaughter these devils. Hopefully, their heroic spirits haven’t gone far—that they can hear the roars, smell the blood, and savor the terror and despair of their enemies...”

As Long Chen’s black robes billowed, he walked towards the lifeforms that were trapped by his swords. Frosty killing intent covered his face.

Today, he would claim interest on behalf of the heroes of the nine heavens. The blood of these so-called experts would serve as the first offering to their unyielding spirits.

As Long Chen walked forward, Mu Qingyun joined him. She walked right beside him, her gaze determined.

She’d arrived at the altar earlier but hadn’t immediately joined him. Instead, she had taken time to absorb the Grand Dao qi and refine her Sword Dao. The change in her aura was obvious; she’d benefited greatly.

However, Mu Qingyun hadn’t expected Long Chen’s huge transformation. He looked completely different from before, as if nothing in this world was impossible for him.

Despite dangers on all sides and having no idea what lay beneath the altar, Mu Qingyun didn’t feel afraid as long as she walked beside Long Chen.

The flying swords continued to slice through those experts. Even though they were working together, it was only a matter of time.

They were all terrified. Through the swords, they saw Long Chen walking over like the god of death. When he arrived, it would signify the end of their lives.

A few of them cracked under pressure. Some tried to charge through the seven-color swords, only to be sliced to bits.

“Lord Cang Lu, please hear your people’s call! Awaken!”

Some of them started to roar, burning away at their own souls as if undergoing some kind of sacrificial ceremony.

Their sacrifice seemed to be effective. The altar was shaking, while a sinister, dark aura was slowly growing.

Mu Qingyun’s expression changed at once. “There’s a terrifying existence down below,” she warned. Her soul recoiled; the presence felt like a peerless beast bound in iron.

“Who cares what terrifying existence it is? As long as it comes out, I’ll beat it until it calls me daddy!” Long Chen replied, unaffected by that aura.

Several auras on the altar vanished at once. Mu Qingyun’s brow tightened—those disappearing presences weren’t outsiders at all but experts of the nine heavens.

These fellows had taken advantage of the chaos to come and absorb the Grand Dao qi. On his own, Long Chen was facing these outsider devils, while they just stood to the side.

Now that something terrible stirred beneath the altar, they chose flight over fight. Mu Qingyun felt a sting of resentment.

Seeing her anger, Long Chen smiled slightly.

He asked, “Do you fight for them?”

Mu Qingyun’s anger instantly vanished. That was true—they were mortal enemies with these outsider experts. It was to protect the people they cared about. However, the ones who fled were nothing to her.

“Damn human, Lord Cang Lu is about to awaken! All that awaits you is death!” the outsider lifeform shouted, his voice thick with feverish hope.

Cracks spidered across the so-called unbreakable altar. The dark aura within swelled and surged outward as a massive form started to force its way free.

Mu Qingyun’s grip tightened on her sword; she readied herself to unleash everything in an instant.

“Lord Cang Lu will be reborn! As the son of the Dark Master, he once swept the nine heavens in the primal chaos era and slaughtered countless of your kind! Long Chen, await your death!” one of the outsider experts shouted.

“You’re noisy. I was going to let you live a bit longer so you could watch as I killed this person, but since you don’t want to stick around, you can just die,” Long Chen replied.

“Seven Peak Flame Explosion!”

The seven-colored swords blurred into flame-petals. They detonated, mixing with the Grand Dao qi to form a domain of death around them. Those outsider experts were directly crushed into blood mist. None of them survived this attack.

Just then, an egg broke out of the altar. As soon as it broke free, it exploded.

Grand Dao qi unfurled, and a figure appeared at the heart of the altar, surrounded by black qi. It was like the god of darkness had been born.
