Chapter 6373 The Chance Comes!

Chapter 6373 The Chance Comes!

Su Yu at first could not believe that Long Chen had really come. Then, when he shouted at his opponent to call him “Daddy,” she was utterly baffled.

BOOM!

Evilmoon cleaved through the air, sending Cang Lu flying. He crashed into the ground, raising a wave of rubble in every direction.

“Gather together!” roared Su Yu.

She sheathed her sword and swiftly formed hand seals, igniting her Sovereign flames to summon a protective barrier.

The experts of the Four Cardinal Alliance didn’t understand what was happening, but they obeyed instantly, rushing toward her.

Su Yu’s barrier shifted, pulling them to the basin’s edge, where they could take shelter behind a massive stone hill.

The impact struck a breath later. The rubble pounded against the stone hill, tearing away half of it and erasing the evil spirits that had been attacking them.

Then, the heavens dimmed, and a wave of dirt swept toward them.

This time, Su Yu didn’t need to command them. Everyone poured their strength into a joint barrier. But under the immense pressure, their barrier shattered, causing them to hack up blood.

When the shockwave finally passed, Su Yu pushed herself up through the dirt, and her eyes widened. The surrounding mountains had been completely flattened.

In the distance lay a vast hole. She rushed to its edge, but all she found was blood soaking the shattered earth.

Overhead, she saw a twisting and shrinking tear in the void. It seemed that the two combatants had already torn through space and vanished.

“Was that really Long Chen?” asked one of the Four Cardinal Alliance’s experts.

He had followed Su Yu for a long time and had seen Long Chen as well. He recognized Long Chen’s voice, but this destructive might was far beyond anything he could reconcile.

That same man reached toward the bloodstains, intending to test their owner’s power. But the instant his fingers touched the blood, black qi surged into his hand, corroding it at terrifying speed.

“Careful!”

Su Yu reacted the fastest and instantly drew her sword, severing the arm before the corruption could spread further.

The arm disintegrated into black powder before it even struck the ground.

At this sight, the surrounding experts were all horrified and hastily retreated. None of them had expected that some blood would have such terrifying power.

“What kind of realm has the owner of this blood reached?” the maimed man whispered, his voice trembling.

It was a good thing that Su Yu had reacted so quickly, or this little life of his would be lost.

Su Yu gazed in the distance. However, the hole in the void had already healed, becoming a twisting whirlpool that shrank until it was gone.

“Su Yu, was that really Long Chen?” asked someone else.

“Who else could have the power to chase a terrifying expert like that?” Su Yu replied, her voice filled with mixed emotions.

Her voice carried reverence and idolization but also a subtle helplessness. They had seized a monumental opportunity here, one that transformed them completely.

Just as she thought she could close the gap between them and peerless heavenly geniuses like Long Chen, she received such a blow.

The clash between Long Chen and Cang Lu had almost killed them. How could they hope to withstand such a blow? They were not even qualified to follow an expert of that level.

Looking at the flattened mountains and devastation, they couldn’t hide their shocked expression.

“Our luck was good,” Su Yu declared, her voice steady despite the ache in her chest. “Long Chen inadvertently saved our lives this time. But we cannot slack off. We’ve just inherited the legacy of our ancestors, and our futures are limitless. The fact that someone saved us at this critical moment proves the karmic luck of heaven and earth is with us. We must work harder. Even if we can’t fight shoulder to shoulder with Long Chen, we cannot allow ourselves to fall too far behind. At the very least, we must be able to see his back. We’ll rest here for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn. Then we move out. We need to find Cui Hao. The final battle is coming soon, and time is short.”

Su Yu turned her gaze toward the void where Long Chen had vanished, and a sigh escaped her lips. She thought back to their first meeting, and sadness welled within her.

Long Chen... we’ll work hard. We’ll make sure we can still see your back. Otherwise, I fear I’ll lose my way.

...

BOOM!

The void exploded. Black qi spiderwebbed across the air as Cang Lu’s battered figure came crashing out.

“Long Chen, you’ve chased me for three days! I carry the Dark Master’s blessing—my power is endless! You can’t kill me!” Cang Lu’s roar shook with both fury and desperation.

“That’s fine. But you still haven’t called me Daddy!”

Long Chen swung Evilmoon once again, sending Cang Lu flying.

Cang Lu tumbled across the wasteland, raising a storm of dust like a raging dragon.

Even Long Chen started to feel irritated. Cang Lu was infuriatingly difficult to kill. With nearly inexhaustible astral energy, Long Chen did not fear a prolonged fight.

However, Cang Lu stubbornly held onto seventy to eighty percent of his peak power. When his dark blessing started to weaken, he would retreat, bide his time, and recover.

Three days had passed like this. They had crossed half the heaven region’s battlefield, yet Cang Lu was still alive. However, he no longer dared to summon his dark manifestation again. Without it, he had no obvious weaknesses.

Along the way, Long Chen had cursed Evilmoon more than once. If not for its greed earlier, this hunt would have ended long ago. Beating Cang Lu was easy, but killing him was like ascending to the heavens. Cang Lu was like a slippery mudfish. No matter what, Long Chen couldn’t catch him.

Now, Cang Lu was absolutely terrified of Long Chen. Long Chen had forced him into close combat several times, each time leaving him bloodied. As a result, he no longer dared give Long Chen that opening. At best, he would block a strike or two before fleeing.

With Evilmoon’s help, Long Chen pursued him relentlessly, tearing through space. Evilmoon’s senses were locked onto Cang Lu, giving him no room to escape.

The two had fought hundreds of skirmishes over the three days, terrifying countless experts who had glimpsed their battles.

“Long Chen, will you stop if I call you Daddy?” Cang Lu asked out of nowhere.

The words froze Long Chen mid-swing. His saber halted so abruptly he nearly pulled his waist.

Resting Evilmoon on his shoulder, Long Chen narrowed his eyes. His brain worked rapidly. It seemed that Cang Lu had been forced to the edge. He had most likely reached his limit, so he either had to admit defeat or risk everything in a final clash.

In his weakened state, only one man would survive such a clash, and it would not be Cang Lu.

“If you call me Daddy, I won’t kill you,” Long Chen said with a cocky pat to his chest.

In response, Cang Lu’s jaw tightened. He swallowed hard.

The Dark Master’s blessing still sustained Cang Lu, but Evilmoon had already devoured too much of his energy. If this continued, he would really die.

Cang Lu had one option left—detonate his dark energy. Doing so would allow him to regain a trace of his former Divine Sovereign power, a force strong enough to overwhelm Long Chen. Yet even then, killing Long Chen was far from certain. The man was as sly as a fox, and Cang Lu had no confidence in landing the final blow.

But the price of detonating dark energy was not acceptable for Cang Lu. It would sever his karmic connection with the Dark Master, leaving him forever cut off from dark energy’s support. The Dark Master had yet to awaken from slumber, and if Cang Lu sacrificed this bond now, he would never recover his former realm. Everything he relied upon would be gone.

Cang Lu wore a conflicted expression. He wanted to just give up and say it, but his dignity refused to let it out.

At that moment, thunderous explosions echoed across the horizon. Several powerful auras rushed toward them.

“Great Dark Son, don’t worry, we are here!” shouted one Dark race expert.

At this sight, Cang Lu was instantly reinvigorated. Long Chen spread his senses and found that there were tens of thousands of newcomers. Still, the strongest of them only had 998 Sovereign flames.

Before they could get too close, their bodies erupted like bursting blood sacs. Tens of thousands of experts turned to mist in an instant, and that mist surged toward Cang Lu.

In an instant, Cang Lu’s aura surged, and Long Chen felt the might of a Divine Sovereign.

“Long Chen, face your death!” Cang Lu roared with savage glee, charging forward.

“Evilmoon, here's your chance to kill him!”

As Cang Lu finally came at him head-on, Long Chen’s eyes blazed. The Starry Sky Battle Robe erupted in radiant light once more.
