Everyone was stunned, including the bull-headed lifeform. No one knew better than him the true terror of that hatchet.

It was an ancient Divine Sovereign magical item, a divine weapon passed down through generations. Without it, even with his Human Emperor cultivation base, the bull-headed lifeform could never have unleashed such an overwhelming power.

Long Chen’s expression was apathetic, as if he expected this—though inside he was quietly pleased.

When Long Chen appeared in front of the bull-headed lifeform, the latter recovered from his shock. With a roar, he smashed the hilt of his hatchet at Long Chen and turned to run.

Long Chen waved once. The remaining handle splintered, and an astral handprint shot after the bull-headed lifeform, piercing his body in a spray of blood.

The creature staggered a few paces and collapsed, its vitality bleeding away.

“Long Chen...” the demon expert whispered, stunned.

To see that terrifying foe killed in an instant shook him to the core. Then, seized by gratitude and relief, he cried out, “Thank you for saving my life! I will follow you forever!”

In his hot-headedness, this demon expert had launched a suicidal attack. Now that he had calmed down, he shivered at the thought of it. If Long Chen hadn’t intervened, he would be dead.

“I don’t need followers,” Long Chen replied coolly. “But if you want, come with me and slaughter them all!”

With that, he lunged toward the volcano’s mouth.

“Kill!”

That demon expert and the other experts of the nine heavens were all excited and chased after Long Chen.

More nine-heavens experts gathered in the distance, drawn to the conflict.

Although everyone knew the volcano’s peak was where the strongest experts gathered—and thus the most dangerous place—it was also where the Grand Dao qi was purest. If they didn’t risk everything now, then when?

“Long Chen’s here! Kill him and seize the Earth Cauldron!”

A roar erupted from the other side, and countless outsider experts turned their gazes toward him.

From afar, he opened his maw, spewing black mist.

The space around Long Chen corroded into a black hole. Black liquid dripped down, burning holes into the volcano itself.

The demon expert stared in horror as Long Chen’s figure vanished inside that tide of corruption.

“Heavens, what kind of divine ability is that?! How can it corrode even the laws of space?!” shouted the demon expert.

“Where is he?” the toad-like monster asked, scanning the battlefield left and right in vain.

Gasps rose around him. The nine-heavens experts were pointing upward. Long Chen was standing atop his head. As the monster searched left and right, Long Chen mirrored his movements.

“Strange. Where did he go?” wondered Long Chen out loud.

The moment Long Chen’s voice reached the toad lifeform’s ears, he stiffened, terror surging through him.

BOOM!

Before the toad lifeform could react, starlight flared beneath Long Chen’s feet. A crushing force smashed him down into the earth.

The toad lifeform was flattened into a meatcake. Stone and rubble exploded outward, killing the nearby outsiders.

“Damn human, you’re too arrogant!”

A furious roar split the sky as dozens of terrifying auras ignited.

A group of humanoid lifeforms appeared. Their skin was dark, with stone-like patterns. But unlike the Stone Spirit race of the nine heavens, their auras reeked of darkness and violence.

“They all have 997 Sovereign flames!

The nine heavens’ experts cried out in shock. These lifeforms were the ones absorbing the purest Grand Dao qi, guarded by the other outsiders. Now, enraged by Long Chen’s intrusion, they struck.

“Die!”

They didn’t seem to wish to waste time speaking to Long Chen. As light flowed across their bodies, their energies resonated as one.

“Long Chen, run! This is a joint attack!” shouted the demon expert Long Chen had saved.

But before their combined strike could erupt, a black halberd cleaved through the air, severing the gathering power. It also cut through their bodies all in one attack.
