Chapter 6508 Wake Up

Chapter 6508 Wake Up

Jin Mingyao was no longer holding anything back. By now, he could sense that something was wrong.

When Yue Zifeng and Guo Ran had spoken earlier, acting as though they could kill him, Jin Mingyao had dismissed it as posturing. Yet now, Guo Ran had actually managed to block his killing strike. Though some trickery was involved, the fact remained—Guo Ran had stopped the Golden Endless Staff. That alone proved Guo Ran truly possessed the power to contend with him.

If Guo Ran could do that, then Yue Zifeng’s earlier words couldn’t be brushed aside as arrogance. He had to have the confidence to back them.

Jin Mingyao couldn’t afford to keep wasting time on Guo Ran. If he dragged this out, the advantage of being the first one here with a legacy Divine Sovereign magical item would vanish once the others arrived.

Just then, the dragon phantom behind Guo Ran roared. Its outline sharpened, its scales gradually appearing across its body.

Guo Ran’s real armor produced dragon scale markings, as if a sleeping dragon within him was finally awakening. A boundless dragon might erupted from his body.

Guo Ran’s dragon blood roared. The massive shield that had seemed so heavy before suddenly felt weightless in his hands. Stamping on the air, Guo Ran shot forward like a comet.

Until now, Guo Ran had only defended. His sudden shift to offense threw Jin Mingyao’s rhythm into chaos. With the distance between them gone in an instant, Jin Mingyao’s only choice was to pour his full strength into the Endless Staff to meet Guo Ran’s strike.

BOOM!

The Golden Endless Staff clashed with the Hidden Dragon Shield again, producing another dazzling golden light in the sky. The impact blew a hole in the void and sent countless fragments of spacetime flying.

Both of them were blown back but immediately charged back at each other. The sound of their collisions thundered through people’s bones. Their divine weapons smashed into each other over and over again in the most primitive clash of brute force and will.

In a single breath, they had exchanged hundreds of blows. The audience was blinded by the glare, deafened by the shockwaves. They could no longer even track the two figures.

“What kind of monster is Guo Ran? How can he be this powerful? And what kind of weapon is that shield in his hand? How can it block a legacy Divine Sovereign magical item?”

This was practically an apocalyptic battle. Then, with a final, deafening explosion, the golden light abruptly vanished. When people’s vision cleared, they saw Guo Ran holding not just his shield, but a gleaming golden saber dripping with blood.

Their gazes snapped toward Jin Mingyao.

His expression was a mix of shock and fury. A long gash ran across his abdomen, staining his golden robes red.

“You dodged fast,” Guo Ran sneered, flicking the blood from his saber. “A shame I didn’t cut you clean in half.”

“You disgraceful bastard!” Jin Mingyao roared. “You think you can win with cheap tricks? Today, you die! No one will save you!”

Until now, Guo Ran had used the shield for everything: attack, defense, and deception. As a result, Jin Mingyao had assumed it was his trump card. But at the height of their duel, Guo Ran had drawn a saber seemingly from nowhere. If Jin Mingyao had reacted a heartbeat slower, that strike would have bisected him.

The golden saber wasn’t a Divine Sovereign weapon, yet it was terrifying in its own right—so sharp it cleaved iron like paper.

After obtaining the Hidden Dragon Shield, Guo Ran discovered that when he fused it with his hidden dragon power, its defense was nearly unmatched.

Back then, he had wielded dual sabers. But with the shield in hand, he abandoned one and poured all his skill—and the finest materials he possessed—into crafting a supreme saber meant solely for offense.

Previously, his sabers had been built for balance, with three three-finger-width spine to maintain their defensive stability. However, such a thick saber naturally had no flexibility. So, the new blade was razor-thin like a cicada’s wing, and it could slice through the void with ease. Its speed had reached an entirely new level.

Thus, Guo Ran’s quick saber could catch even Jin Mingyao off-guard.

Suddenly, a thunderous detonation came from Jin Mingyao’s staff. Two more runic seals burst apart. The aura of the Golden Endless Staff surged wildly, like a feral beast slipping its chains.

“Die!”

Jin Mingyao seemed to have gone crazy. His eyes burned scarlet, his teeth bared in rage as he swung the staff down.

It was the same move, but now the entire world was shuddering uneasily because of the Golden Endless Staff’s power. Even the stars in the sky flickered.

In response, the dragon figure behind Guo Ran stirred for a moment. From it, two spots of divine light lit up—it was the dragon’s eyes.

The moment that happened, its dragon scales emitted a raging fire.

“Finally awake, huh? Then I don’t need to hold back anymore,” Guo Ran muttered.

Guo Ran had been waiting precisely for this moment. The air beneath his feet exploded as he shot forward like a bolt of golden lightning.

Jin Mingyao was charging too, but compared to Guo Ran’s newfound speed, he looked like a decrepit old man.

Before the Golden Endless Staff could even complete its swing, Guo Ran was already there, his shield crashing forward.

“What?!” Jin Mingyao was astonished.

Guo Ran seemed to be an entirely different person now, his aura fierce and sharp. Jin Mingyao had no choice but to switch to defense.

The next instant, an explosion ripped through the battlefield. The shockwave sent Jin Mingyao and his staff flying. They slammed into a distant mountain.

That mountain was made of some of the hardest minerals. After all, everything else had been decimated by the previous battle. The fact that this one was still standing showed just how tough it was.

BOOM!

However, this impact blew the mountain to smithereens, crushing it like exploding fireworks.

Before the fireworks subsided, Jin Mingyao’s figure came flying out. At first, the Heavenly Demon Golden Monkey race’s survivors cheered—until they realized something was off. Jin Mingyao hadn’t flown out by choice. He had been sent flying.

They saw a flash, and Guo Ran smashed into Jin Mingyao once again with his shield.

Jin Mingyao crashed into the ground like a meteor. The earth quaked from the impact.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Jin Mingyao’s roar came from beneath the rubble.

Explosive sounds followed as divine power erupted underground. A moment later, he burst out of the ground—his Golden Endless Staff burning with even more power.

“Jin Mingyao just broke six seals! The Endless Staff now has ten seals undone!”

“He is risking it all!”
