Chapter 992: The meet-up
Quaint Alley. A once boisterous and vibrant place for travelers to visit. Although it was given the name alley, it is located at the foot of a mountain, facing the ocean.
It was a place that families used to come to for a vacation or a getaway from the noisy city life.
However, this once beautiful place was overtaken by the underworld, thus causing it to become abandoned.
Yue Ling’s car pulls to a stop in an abandoned parking lot. She turns the engine off and steps out. Her expression was calm but her eyes did not forget to scan her surroundings.
She had arrived ten minutes before the given meet-up time.
Just as she closed the door, her ears picked up footsteps from the side.
She turned to see Hung Woo and four men, one of them being Liu Peng.
One corner of her lip twitches as she held herself back from smirking at the sight of the abusive father recognizing her.
Of course, when they met, she was just a normal person taking his children from him. He had no idea she was part of the underworld.
Oblivious to their prior meeting, Hung Woo smiles as he approaches Yue Ling.
"Wow. I must admit, I didn’t think you were going to come alone."
He scans the car and the surrounding areas before focusing back on the retired model in front of him.
"I must say, you’re brave coming here alone."
He lips his lips hungrily as he takes in her figure from head to toe then back up and a sinister smirk curls on his face.
"You’re even prettier in person."
Yue Ling kept a calm demeanor without flinching. She had experienced her fair share in the entertainment world along with her encounters in the underworld. Standing in front of Hung Woo did not faze her.
"Where is my brother?"
She asked despite knowing that he was not here.
Hung Woo’s smile widened even more at her authoritative tone before letting out a laugh.
"Where is my money?"
Ignoring his laugh that inflict nightmare in children’s dreams, Yue Ling walks around to the trunk of the car and opens it. She reaches in and takes out a suitcase.
She closes the trunk door and pulls the handle out. Her movements were too calm for Hung Woo’s liking. It was like she had just arrived at the airport and was going to go on a vacation.
"900 million yuan."
She held the suitcase out but did not step closer to the group of men. Her eyes remained locked on the leader.
"Now, where is my brother?"
Hung Woo’s lip twitched at her tone and he wanted to smack the calmness out of her. However, thinking about how nice it would be to show her her place later, he kept his smile in place.
"I need to confirm the contents before I answer your question."
He gives a nod to one of his men and the man walks over to Yue Ling. The man takes the suitcase from her and positions it on the ground before unzipping the bag.
After confirming that the money was inside, he looks at his boss and gives a nod.
Hung Woo’s nostrils flare as he inhales a deep breath filled with joy at the news. He looks back at Yue Ling and his lip curls into a sneer.
"Fucken rich people. Money is never a problem for you people."
He quickly pushes this envious feeling aside and rubs his chin in satisfaction as he takes in her appearance again.
"But unfortunately for you, your brother isn’t here."
Yue Ling arches a brow in question and he shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly.
"I wasn’t sure if you were going to go through with your part of the deal, so I didn’t bring him along."
He signals with his head in the direction of the mountain.
"Your brother..."
He thought about his choice of words before giving her his best friendly smile.
"Is being taken care of safely."
To others, his words were enough to make them feel a sense of ease, but not Yue Ling. She had already known the truth about where her brother was and what had happened to him.
However, seeing that Hung Woo is still unaware of this, she will continue to play along with him.
Her calm expression was quickly replaced with one of nervousness and fear as she looked at the men in front of her.
"What do you mean my brother isn’t here? Where are you keeping him?"
Seeing the fear take place on her face, Hung Woo was more thrilled than the money in his hands. He took a careful step towards her and placed his hands out, a gesture to let her know she didn’t need to be scared.
"How about this... You come with me to get your brother. Once you have him, you can leave with him and I get my money."
He stops three feet in front of her and smiles.
"No one will know about this meet-up, and everything will be as if none of this happened at all."
Yue Ling’s eyes shook with unease at his words. She bit her lower lip unaware of what it did to the man and nodded her head after pondering.
"Alright. I will go with you."
Hung Woo felt his entire being burst with pure happiness at how easy it was to get Yue Ling to follow him.
He knew that all he needed to do was use her brother with a few nice words against her and he would have her wrapped around his fingers.
Taking two steps towards her, he placed his hand behind the small of her back and gently pushed her towards the direction he appeared.
"Come. Let us go to your brother together."
Yue Ling kept her apprehensive behavior without pushing the man away. She nervously ran her left hand through her hair, pushing it back.
As she did this, her index finger, motioned a circle.
Her gesture was flawless and went unnoticed. However, to the men around her, they were unaware of the signal she just gave.
Hung Woo howled a laugh and looked down at her. She was perfect in his arms and he couldn’t wait to have a taste of her.
He had shared all his women, including Ji Chu Hua, with his men. All he had to do was blindfold them and take a seat while his men took their turns with his women.
However, with Yue Ling, he was going to keep her all to himself.
She is like a precious jewel one does not want to share with anyone.
Of course, that is until she is no longer useful to him.
Thinking about this, he couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Lu Tian finding out this news.
Hung Woo loathed Lu Tian for always sabotaging his dealings in the past. Knowing that he has his hands on the man’s woman is like winning first place in a race.
As Yue Ling leaves Quaint Alley with Hung Woo and his men, Liu Shan shakes his head. He had watched everything through a pair of binoculars in the spot he was designated to hide.
He was close enough to intervene if needed but not close enough to give away his position.
He shakes his head again and raises his hands to remove the lid on top of him then stands up from inside the empty trash bin.
Tossing the lid away, he reaches over and knocks on the trash bin to his right.
"Lin Hui, they’re gone. You can come out now."
Just as his words fell, Lin Hui popped out from the other trash bin. Despite hiding inside something so dirty, he didn’t show any disgust. He stares in the direction his boss had gone and he pursed his lips.
Seeing his expression, Liu Shan tilts his head in question.
"What is it? Did I miss something?"
Lin Hui shook his head and looked to the left towards the mountain. He lets out a sigh and steps out from the trash bin.
"Nothing was amiss. For a second there, I just felt sorry for Hung Woo."
Liu Shan turned confused but only for a split second. He could feel the cold air around them become colder and the wind picking up its pace.
He swallowed a gulp and turned to look at the mountain.
"Come on. Let’s follow boss before we lose sight of them."
Even from where he stood, he could feel the coldness from the person causing the shift in the temperature.
Lu Tian stood on a part of the mountain that looked down towards Quaint Alley. He appeared calm to those around him, but on closer look, one could see the vein on his jaw, ready to pop.
The moment he spotted Yue Ling’s car enter the parking lot, his eyes followed her every move until the end. He was relieved that nothing went wrong but he did not miss the filthy hand that touched her.
He clenched his jaw tightly before abruptly turning around.
"Let’s go."
He strides towards his car with Xu Long and Wolf Team taking a minute to release the breath they were holding in.
They had also seen when Hung Woo placed a hand on Yue Ling’s back.
And each person felt the temperature drop and held their breath.
No one dared to look at their boss.
The only thought in their minds is, Hung Woo would no longer have his hand before the night ended.
