Chapter 3621 - Formation Leading to the Oldgod Domain
Tianming switched his thinking. Previously, he’d thought there was something special about the imperial palace, which was why Sixth had brought him here. But now, no matter how he looked at it, the palace didn’t seem like a place to hide someone. Moreover, Yin Chen had sent in a massive number of its bodies, yet still hadn’t located Zi Zhen.
At this point, Tianming surmised that Sixth’s reason for bringing him there was likely due to the palace's proximity to the eye of heaven.
“I’ll keep searching! If it’s hiding in there, it won’t escape my grasp!” Ji Ji’s power swept through the eye of heaven. While it controlled the nova source-like portion, it wasn’t familiar with the soul-based portion.
“This is strange! The soul energy here is bizarre, as if it possesses its own will!” Ji Ji remarked. It had granted the nova source a semblance of consciousness, but the soul energy was just a type of energy. How could it have independence? Something was definitely unusual!
“I found something!” Ji Ji suddenly shouted.
“What’d you find?” Tianming urgently asked.
“That purple-haired demoness is in here!” Ji Ji replied.
“Zi Zhen!” Tianming’s eyes lit up. It confirmed his suspicions: Sixth was hiding inside the eye of heaven! Otherwise, why would it place the most important hostage there?
“Sixth, you’ve exposed yourself now!”
Moran was still somewhat dazed, but Tianming didn’t waste time. He scooped her up and charged toward the eye of heaven. However, this time, something felt... off.
He glanced down and immediately felt his blood rushing somewhere inappropriate. Dammit! He suddenly remembered that, during Ji Ji’s earlier mishap, it had accidentally blown apart Moran’s dress.
“My apologies!” Tianming kept his gaze straight ahead.
“Did you really not look?” Moran groggily murmured, her face flushed.
“Of course not. I’m a gentleman,” Tianming replied, coughing.
“But... you have a third eye...” she retorted, grabbing his flailing black arm. Her eyes met his third eye, which immediately snapped shut.
Tianming didn’t say a word.
The next moment, a new dress extended from her spatial ring, wrapping her up once more.
“You rascal,” she muttered, her ears burning red as she buried her face in his chest.
“It’s just a misunderstanding!”
Tianming maintained a solemn expression, completely unfazed, as he carried her into the eye of heaven. With Ji Ji clearing the way, the violent forces inside couldn’t harm them.
“Where’s Zi Zhen?” Tianming quickly asked.
As soon as he finished speaking, a path bathed in pink light opened, directly leading to the depths of the eye of heaven.
The eye of heaven truly resembled a nova source without a fusion formation. It was wild, chaotic, and its vast soul energy was its defining characteristic.
Without hesitation, Tianming charged forward!
“She’s running!” Ji Ji exclaimed.
“Running? Ha!” Tianming roared into the surroundings, “Little brat, isn’t this your strongest domain? Where can you run to? Outside of here, you’re even less of a match for me!”
“She isn’t running out, she’s heading for the center,” Ji Ji replied.
As expected, Sixth wouldn’t leave this place. It was definitely inside the eye of heaven as well!
Since Zi Zhen was heading toward the central region, Tianming naturally followed.
With Ji Ji stabilizing the eye of heaven’s energies, travel was effortless. The eye was relatively small, compared to the Yin-Yang World, so Ji Ji’s abilities were still effective. Navigating the eye of heaven would have been nearly impossible without it.
The Skysoul Tower also helped Tianming make it through the rampant soul energy.
The nature of the eye of heaven likely made it a forbidden zone even for the antiquitean imperials. If Zi Zhen were in there without Sixth, how could she possibly move around?
“We’re almost at the center. It seems there’s some sort of formation there!” Ji Ji suddenly said.
“A formation?” Tianming asked, puzzled.
“Yes! I didn’t notice it earlier, but when the purple-haired woman reached the center, the entire eye’s energy converged there, revealing a stareye-like formation. It’s small, though. It looks like a black-and-white vortex!”
“A black-and-white vortex? Where does it lead?” Tianming froze.
“Hurry! She’s about to enter! The surrounding mist is gathering into her body, which means Sixth is likely on her!” Ji Ji exclaimed.
“Trying to escape?”
All that time, Sixth had remained silent. Vitasteal had likely messed up its plans, stirring the desire to retreat.
“Sixth! Weren’t you acting all high and mighty? Didn’t you look down on everyone? Why’re you so desperate to run now? That’s rather embarrassing!” Tianming loudly taunted.
“Early on, I told you that snot-nosed brat was the weakest of the lot!” Ying Huo jeered.
“Trash. Only fit to be my little brother,” Ji Ji mocked.
“Just one meeting and it’s terrified. So embarrassing! If I were you, I’d just give up and come home. You obviously aren’t doing too hot alone!” Tianming sneered.
He was laughing, but his speed didn’t decrease. He streaked forward like a bolt of lightning along Ji Ji’s pathway!
“Shut up, all of you!” The entire eye of heaven trembled with an ear-splitting roar of rage. Clearly, Sixth was utterly furious.
Who said goading wouldn’t work? After all, it was just a brat!
The eye of heaven violently shook as white clouds, resembling vengeful spirits, wailed in frustration once again. “Tianming! And you filthy pets! Stop being so smug! Let me tell you, the one here in this Antiquitas Mortis is just my infant soul! It’s worth as much as a hair to me!” Sixth roared.
“A hair? I thought brats were hairless?” Ying Huo laughed.
“Shut up! I meant a mere tip of the iceberg!” Sixth corrected itself.
“Tip of the iceberg? Well, I’m blazing with fire and love nothing more than melting icebergs. Come on, let your big brother warm your frozen heart!” Ying Huo teased.
“You! You damn chicken! Just you wait! When I return to the Oldgod Domain and bring back my prime soul, you’ll regret it!” Sixth’s voice cracked with fury, almost crying.
“Oldgod Domain?” Tianming was stunned. The brat had let it slip such a secret in its rage. As expected of a petulant brat, it couldn’t keep secrets, especially when throwing a tantrum. “So, there’s a formation at the center of the eye of heaven that leads to the Oldgod Domain?”
