Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3628 - Orderly Race

Chapter 3628 - Orderly Race

Tianming laughed at how ridiculous this world was. The specters' desperate expressions told him that, while they were foundationeers, they were at the bottom rung of the ladder in God Domain One. No doubt, they were the least talented of them all. Tianmingopolis' standard for talent was no doubt higher than the specters here, even though they were level one or two foundationeers.

"Even the normal saints of Myriadpath Valley would be able to defeat them with a few levels of handicap." Tianming could tell that these specters were like the silverfoxes he had encountered in the Xenoabyss, like Auntie Hua. They didn't have any talent for cultivation. "I wonder if people here also suffer from xeno fatigue."

As he thought that, he suddenly heard a commotion from ahead. "Wow!" A gigantic palace seemed to be moving toward them.

"Is that a divine astralship?! Wait, no!" It was actually just a palace! The reason it was moving was that there were ten thousand specters lifting the entire thing like a palanquin! It was truly a wild sight to behold.

Every one of those palace lifters were specters with the same purple eye pattern on their backs. The eyes seemed to be monitoring their every move. From how worn out they appeared, the palaces were indeed rather heavy and comparable to astralships in mass. It was rather hard work for apparently elite foundationeers to do something like that.

All of a sudden, the eyes on their backs turned toward Tianming. The palace stopped and all the specters looked up in a daze at the three. Then the door of the palace opened and a beautiful female specter of the fox variety stepped out; she truly looked like an alluring vixen. There was a group of white figures within the palace, but Tianming couldn't quite tell what they were.

"Halt," said the female specter. The way she behaved suggested that she was cherished and well cared for.

"Little Mo, be nice to our guests," said a hollow voice from within the palace.

"Yes, Lord Muhu!" Mo respectfully bowed before turning back to Tianming, noticing Moran, and speaking with a softer tone. "Greetings, honored guest. Lord Muhu has taken an interest in your slave. Are you willing to part with her for an adequate price?"

Zi Zhen and Moran both froze.

"Am I the guest?" Moran asked Tianming.

"Did they just call me a slave?!" Zi Zhen bit her lips with her fangs.

Tianming was just as shocked. What would that make him? Either way, the specter and Lord Muhu didn't seem to pay him any particular attention. The female specter only addressed Moran, a sign that even Lord Muhu believed that she was the master of the group of three.

"Do what I say," Tianming hinted.

Moran immediately knew what to do. She put up a brave front and said, "What does your lord intend to offer?"

"Ten!" the female specter said.

"Ten of what?" Moran asked.

"Are you new to the Ancient Oldgod Domain? Ten grade-ten order fragments, of course."

Tianming almost did a double take. Was that what they were using as their currency? He whispered to Zi Zhen, "I didn't think you'd be worth that much. I should’ve sold you long ago and leveled up with what I got."

"Shut up," she said, rolling her eyes.

Moran furrowed her brows and said, "It's too little!"

"Guest, it isn’t little at all. My lord said that he only made this friendly offer as a show of friendship and sincerity between the divine wondersky race and the orderly race. Otherwise, a slave with that standard appearance who isn't even an overflower is usually only worth five."

"This slave is of sentimental value to me," Moran calmly said. Zi Zhen secretly thanked her from the depths of her heart.

Orderly race? Tianming knew that there was something weird about the situation. Lord Muhu didn't look like a specter or a human. Does this have to do with the order apians that Huang Qi mentioned? Even their names were similar.

"Sentimental value? Honored guest, surely you jest. Sentimental value isn't worth real money. Why would any guest have sentimental feelings toward one of the slave race? We slaves are mere property." It was rather funny to see a specter call herself a slave.

"How about this? It isn’t like ten is a price I would turn down, but that's besides the point. Instead, I would like to ask Lord Muhu something," Moran said.

"Information? I see." The female specter couldn't decide on a matter like that and returned to the palace. Then she came out and bowed toward Moran. "Guest, Lord Muhu extends his invitation inside."

"Can he not come out to us?" Moran asked.

"Our guest is a fan of humor, I see. How could an honored orderly like Lord Muhu show so many slaves his true visage?"

The three newcomers were completely stumped by the odd customs of this world. Dammit, this fellow seems even more capable than I am at brainwashing people....

Moran had no choice but to agree. As she walked ahead, Tianming and Zi Zhen followed behind, only for the female specter to stop them with a glare. "Slave, mixed blood, are you daft?! Don't tell me you intend to follow the guest into the palace?!"

Tianming endured the indignation of being called mixed blood. Given how respectfully Lord Muhu was treating Moran, it should be fine to let her enter alone. Even if something happened, there would be enough time for Tianming to react.

Moran entered the palace alone and eventually saw Lord Muhu. He was incredibly tubby, which wasn't surprising in itself. What truly was unexpected was that he was a spiritform! He resembled totems, or the spiritforms that Xian Xian and Ji Ji took. He was almost humanoid, but only had a large singular eye in the center of his face that took up a third of its area.

So that was what an orderly looked like. Moran couldn't quite tell how powerful he was as a result. His cultivation level and energy capacity were mysteries. Tianming didn't expect such an odd form of life would exist, either. It felt like something that had come out of the Sea of Order. It was no wonder they were able to enslave specters.

Moran calmly approached the orderly.

"What do you wish to know, dear guest?" Lord Muhu asked, looking at Moran with his singular eye. He didn't seem the least bit interested in anything beyond that.

Moran took out two portraits that Tianming had prepared beforehand. They depicted Qingyu and Lingfeng with rather decent accuracy. "Pray tell, Lord Muhu, have you come across these two?"

Lord Muhu's eyes widened before he shrieked and pointed at Lingfeng's portrait. "The Nightfiend!" He then pointed to Qingyu's portrait with his other shaky hand and yelled, "Original Sin!"

Moran stayed silent. freё.com

"You!" Lord Muhu looked at Moran with shock and disbelief.

"What's going on?" Tianming was alerted on the outside. He didn't know what was going on, just like the ten thousand specters next to them.

"Aaaaah...!" Lord Muhu yelled and quickly backed off, then suddenly stopped in his tracks. He came forward with a smile and said, "Oh, great Primordial Chaos Beastmaster, you're here."

It was Sixth! It could go anywhere it wanted!

"You're already asking about them so soon, eh?" it said, looking at the two portraits. "Since you've come, you shouldn’t leave!"

It cackled and prepared to give the order. Then, Tianming used Vitasteal to stun it, causing Lord Muhu to slump to the ground and foam from the mouth.

"Let's go!" He pulled Moran and Zi Zhen with him and blitz-ran away as the specters stared, still stunned.

"What was that?" Moran asked.

"No idea! Either way, we mustn't fall into the pace of the rowdy brat. Let's learn more about this world first," Tianming said. It seemed that the struggle against the misbehaving brat had begun. "With Yin Chen looking around, we should learn more about Feng and Qingyu soon."

Given Lord Muhu's exaggerated reaction, there was definitely news about them somewhere. "Feng and the Soulfiend are rather huge threats to spiritforms, so it isn’t surprising that Lord Muhu fears him. However, I do wonder why he called Qingyu 'Original Sin' like that." On the Sun, she had been known as the Ninemoon Goddess!

"My dynasty will no longer lack order fragments if I'm able to conquer the Ancient Oldgod Domain, too!" The thought of that made him feel pumped.

"Hell, that thieving sky-plunderer heart of yours is burning bright again," Ying Huo said.

"Sixth never would've expected what kind of monster it brought here! Haha! Oh well... I'm tired," Meow Meow said.
