Chapter 3715 - Terror of Heavenly Might
"Big Bro, do you know about the wormhole expressway? It's spread across the entire Upper Star Ruin and even stretches down into parts of the Lower Star Ruins. It's a really dense network of galactic pathways that allows divine astralships to pass through the void of space itself!" Long Chen said.
"I do!" Tianming said with a nod.
"The wormhole expressway is, in essence, a hyper wormhole formation formed with countless divine celestial patterns. It's a super multifunctional formation that the divine wonderians have created! Apart from that, they even managed to create something like perpetual wondersky worlds inside the Xenoworld! Both of them are formations of unparalleled achievement, spread across the entire universe. However, there's another grand formation that's out of this world and surpasses even those two formations called the Heavenly Dao!"
Tianming shook his head when he heard that. Who was it that controlled the Heavenly Dao, something that turned out to be a tangible entity? Was it really a hyper formation spread out across the universe? Wondersky realms could connect caeli all across the universe, whereas the wormhole expressway connected divine astralships. Was the Heavenly Dao something that regulated heavenly retributions all across the universe?
The Eightpart Pantheons control the Heavenly Dao, basically holding a sword over the heads of everyone in the universe. Is that why they're considered the true rulers of the universe? Things were starting to make sense to Tianming. The Heavenly Dao could be said to be a hyper-advanced weapon that was usually hidden and unseen. But should one go against it, the consequences would be unthinkable.
In other words, the Heavenly Dao and Flameyellow Divine Path were what made the flameyellow divinities so powerful in the past. It's a shame that the Heavenly Dao has been stolen! If we’re to rise again, we have to take back control of the Heavenly Dao!
Controlling the Heavenly Dao meant having control over creation and destruction itself! It was the height of power, and the notion caused Tianming's heartbeat to speed up.
"Long Chen!" He calmed himself and continued asking questions. "Are you saying that if the two over there swear a heavenly oath with your sister, as long as the oath itself doesn't have any loopholes, it’ll strongly bind all the oathmakers, lest they risk suffering trouble?"
"It isn’t just trouble—they'll die for certain! The Heavenly Dao has heavenly eyes. Once the seed of heavenly retribution is planted, those eyes will closely watch both sides for any violations of the heavenly oath. Should that happen, the violator will be completely exterminated!" Long Chen said.
"I see." In other words, Jiang Linxi wasn't stupid enough to propose a trap that Long Qian would be smart enough to see through. The heavenly oath really had a good degree of enforceability, thus ensuring some semblance of fairness.
"In other words, if we really win, they have to release the people they promised to release or they’ll die. If we lose, I have to hand over the ship or your sister dies, right?" Tianming said.𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Yes! Absolutely!" Long Chen said. "The terror of heavenly might is to be feared!"
No doubt, it wasn't just limited to destructive force. The Heavenly Dao was no doubt capable of other things. For instance, it was able to detect and record heavenly oaths, no matter where they were sworn in the Upper Star Ruin, and even recognize when someone went against their oath! What could that scale possibly be? How many lifeforms existed within the Upper Star Ruin?
It was like some kind of almighty automaton in the form of formations and divine celestial patterns. It's comparable to the likes of the Flameyellow Divine Path! Tianming had a feeling that these two things were no doubt far more advanced than the wormhole expressway.
"Big Bro, don't worry. My sister won't agree!" Long Chen said.
"Why wouldn't she agree if fairness is guaranteed? What about your people?" Tianming said.
Long Chen seemed taken aback and lowered his head. "Big Bro, it isn’t a matter of fairness, but might."
"Is the gap too wide?"
"We simply have different access to resources! Most of us don't even have ordered manna to use. Even the overflowers' lifebound beasts have star counts that don't exceed the tens of millions! Not to mention the heavenly shackles...." Long Chen had wanted to prove himself so much, but cruel reality simply wouldn't allow it. The lack of resources and their heavenly shackles made it so that even the most hardworking and talented among them could never catch up to the youths in the Three Great Cults.
"What’s the level of people on their side under a thousand years old?" Tianming asked.
"I heard they're usually fortuna-class geniuses who are third-level overflowers! The ones who come from the main branches of the Sundown Pantheon and Starfall Pantheon are related to the two cult leaders. In fact, their backgrounds are much deeper than that of the two cult leaders’!" Long Chen said.
"Third-level overflowers? So where’s the Cosmic God Palace? Are there middlekin stars there?"
"The Cosmic God Palace will descend to the top of the divine channel. That’s a fiercely competitive area, so of course there’ll be middlekin stars. Oftentimes, they rise to the surface from underneath."
"I see...." Tianming looked at Moran and smiled. "One final question. What’s the Cosmic God Palace?"
"It's one of the divine astralships of the Midsky Tristars, containing planet-class caeli from cosmic gods. It's said that galaxy-class caeli from cosmic gods also exist there!" That was better than the caeli that Tianming had! They must have come from more powerful cosmic gods.
"In fact, every time the Cosmic God Palace descends, it's an opportunity for the youths from the Three Great Cults to improve their orders. As everyone wants to get the best cosmic-god caeli, there’s a fierce competition to determine who gets the chance. At the end of the day, cultivation’s the main focus! The stronger ones will be in a much better position to improve. It’s basically the biggest benefit that the Midsky Tristars are giving those from this Middlekin Star Ruin. Why would we have anything to do with that, right?"
Long Chen did yearn for that place as he described it, but it was a vain hope. The dragonoids all dreamed of breaking through and becoming stronger, but they were without manna, without caeli, and even shackled.
"Big Bro, forget—" Long Chen looked around and noticed that Tianming was gone. He froze. "Big Bro?"
Outside the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, Mo Fan and Jiang Linxi were pushing Long Qian to agree. Jiang Linxi was losing her patience and snapped, "Those are your two options. You can either choose to trade that ship for a million of your folks or choose the heavenly oath. If you choose neither, your kind will suffer!"
"You can also choose to fight us to the death. Let's see if you can cause chaos and mayhem or if we can kill you before you're able to achieve anything. If you really dare to mess up this Middlekin Star Ruin, the devas won't just turn a blind eye to it! They’re much more cruel than we can ever hope to be! Not to mention, Long Qian, you’re someone who escaped captivity from their hands. You’ve already embarrassed them, so think of the consequences of causing more trouble!" Mo Fan sneered.
If they chose to trade the astralship for a million people, it wouldn't be bound by a heavenly oath. Who knew how that would turn out? As for option two, it was even more of a trap! It might seem like they stood a chance, but it was nothing but a farce! The cult leaders had only brought it up to pressure Long Qian into accepting the first option.
But Long Qian knew that the ship belonged to Tianming. She had no choice in the matter at all, and without being able to choose either option, the only choice left was to fight to the death! Right as she was about to speak, Tianming's voice rang out beside her ear. "Tell them you choose the heavenly oath. Let me come up with the terms for it."
