Chapter 4406 - Cang Shanyuan

Chapter 4406 - Cang Shanyuan

Imperator Long stepped forward and turned her beautiful eyes to Tianming. "Li Tianming, you've misunderstood. My third sister was trying to save you. Don't get the wrong idea."

"Is that so? Heh." Tianming glared at Imperator Tong and didn't bother to say anything else.

Though Imperator Long looked like she was making an excuse, she actually had her attention focused on Li Tianzi. No doubt, she was taken aback by his earlier move. Imperators were of a completely different league. The fact that they hadn't known about Li Tianzi's capabilities until earlier showed that they had underestimated Nullity's might.

Tianming's amazing performance against Cang Shentu also registered as a threat to Imperator Long. Even though she didn't yet fear his power, that might not be the case for long. The other two men were just as troubled by the turn of events.

"Li Tianming, it's over for you! You dared to kill the imperial son of Aquamarine! There's no way they will let you go scot free!" Long Xuanzhao said, fully intent on relishing the chaos.

Even if Cang Shentu's death didn't affect the four imperatores much, that wasn't the case for Long Xuanzhao and Lin Xiaoting, people of similar status who had competed with each other since their birth. It was truly unfortunate that Cang Shentu ended up dead by Tianming's hand.

"Are you sure? I seem to recall this being a duel over our manly honor. Didn't we pledge that the peace in the Realm of Chaos wouldn't be disrupted no matter who loses or dies?" Tianming said, turning to Imperator Long. "My four concubines here are the official witnesses to that pledge. Don't tell me you're planning to walk it back."

Being called mere concubines caused interesting expressions to surface on the imperatores' faces.

"Even if that's the case, Tianming, you didn't have to kill Imperial Son Cang. You caused quite a bit of trouble," Imperator Tong said.

"Trouble my ass. He dared to touch my concubine. It's only reasonable that I take his life in exchange. If there was a real culprit, it would be you. If you didn't get so carelessly intimate with him, I wouldn't have had to do what I did."

Imperator Tong's eyelids trembled as she mumbled, "How petty."

It was quite a cute display, not that Tianming cared.

"Li Tianming," Lin Xiaoting said, lightning crackling in his eyes and flowing through his body. "The four imperatores are true gems blessed by the heavens. They are not yours to play with casually. Let me give you a word of advice. If you aren't capable of holding them in your hands, you should let go of them on your own accord."

"Since when's this your business? I am disciplining my concubines as the man of the household," Tianming said, side-eyeing him.

Lin Xiaoting smirked. "Do you want to duel me? Give it a try right now."

"Fuck right off." Tianming rolled his eyes. He was no fool and knew that Lin Xiaoting was much harder to deal with than Cang Shentu. He was in no rush whatsoever. Back when he first met Lin Xiaoting, he was only as tall as his head. In almost no time at all, he had grown to half his height. It would take long before he surpassed Lin Xiaoting.

All he needed was time, time which the four imperatores and Lin Xiaoting tried to deprive him of. Apart from time, he did value his reputation quite a bit too. This was the nature of conflict among peak factions in the Realm of Chaos. It didn't seem to involve much, yet the undercurrents that resulted from the ripples of these interactions made it necessary for anyone to contemplate their next step with care.

"Coward," Lin Xiaoting said, pouting.

"Save your effort. I'm no fool like Cang Shentu." Tianming didn't miss the opportunity to talk down on his dead foe. Were Cang Shentu still alive, he'd surely die from his rage.

"Tianming! You're fine... This is great," Mu Qingqing said as she came over. She had been deathly worried when Tianming challenged Cang Shentu to a fight. With the skypole stars gone, everything had changed.

"Do you think I'm a fool with a deathwish? I would've been fine no matter what," Tianming said. Mu Qingqing couldn't help but laugh even as she held back the tears.

Tianming exchanged glances with Li Muyang and Li Tianzi. They didn't need words. Li Tianzi shot him a thumbs-up with a look of praise.

"Imperial Son! Imperial Son!" cried an old man as he came from a distance with a group of men. Galactic-ocean cosmoforce filled the sky of Skyplunder Capital once more as the group approached.

They hadn't expected that Cang Shentu would die in the least. It was too late when they realized his soul had scattered. How could they accept such an outcome?

Li Tianzi and Li Muyang knew that trouble was about to come. Eventually, the boundless ocean of cosmoforce came closer and closer. The leader was an old man that radiated power. He stood about 90 thousand meters tall and was among the strongest people who wasn't an imperator. He sorrowfully went to the spot where Cang Shentu was slain, bawling heavily. There wasn't even a corpse or a sliver of soul that remained. Tianming even took his precious Grand-Dao-class cosmic relic.

"It's Cang Shanyuan." Li Muyang felt a headache brewing. Cang Shanyuan was famous for being unreasonable. Even becoming a member of Cang Shentu's personal guard hadn't mellowed him out in the slightest.

"Forgive your humble servant for arriving late, Imperial Son!" Cang Shanyuan kowtowed harshly mid air before glaring at Tianming with bloodshot eyes filled with killing intent so powerful that he had honed since his youth by felling countless enemies.

"Li Tianming, you killed the imperial son of Aquamarine with no just cause! You have committed a grave error! I beseech Nullity to hand this criminal over to our judgment lest Aquamarine flattens this world with our army!" Cang Shanyuan declared as he rose with his attendants. The thousands of cosmic gods behind him roared angrily, emitting their oceanic cosmoforce wildly, causing abnormal weather conditions above the capital. They were fully intent on going all out against Nullity.

However, the citizens of Nullity would not be cowed so easily. This was their turf, their capital no less! Even without Tianming or Li Muyang making a move, they began to curse at the outsiders.

"Go back to your kennel, dog! Your side willingly agreed to a duel and lost! Fuck off!"

"Do you think you're better than us? If you're so good, how did your imperial son get killed by ours?!"

"That loser dared to tempt our imperial son's concubines but had no backbone to back it up. It's only right that he died for it! Stop embarrassing yourselves!"

"Here comes the old fool after his ward died in a duel of manly honor. Is this how Aquamarine does things?"

The curses got progressively louder. Many of the citizens were already struggling to stand proud at the sight of the four imperatores fraternizing with the three imperial sons, causing resentment to build up. When Tianming finally gave them a chance to vent, they went all out. As far as they were concerned, Cang Shentu deserved to die as the price for messing with Tianming's concubine!
