Chapter 4479 - The Most Dangerous Moment
This scene moved countless cosmic gods as they watched their imperator’s flames almost snuffed out. Even in such a desperate situation, he showed not the slightest hint of retreat.
“Jiang Cheng, I advise you to surrender. If you die sooner rather than later, the Vermilion Bird Starcage might still have a sliver of hope!” Imperator Zhu laughed with his hands clasped behind his back. Fiery divine dragons coiled around him as he remained in peak condition.
“Resistance is futile,” said Imperator Ji emotionlessly. She raised a hand, summoning tens of millions of deep-blue flying daggers from around her to orbit around her like stars encircling the moon, adorning her with dreamlike splendor.
These daggers were her cosmic relics, the Star-Rainbow Mother-Child Flying-Daggers, capable of splitting into countless blades or merging into a single colossal dagger. They were stained with Imperator Cheng’s blood, vermilion bird flames still flickering on some of it.
“Attack!” The swarm of daggers rapidly joined together into one gigantic blade.
At the same time, Imperator Tu and Imperator Tong unleashed their most ferocious killing techniques.
As for Imperator Zhu, he transformed into his cosmic constellation, assuming the form of a blazing divine dragon that barreled toward Imperator Cheng.
“Imperator! Imperator!” Grief-stricken cries erupted among the cosmic gods of Vermilion Bird.
It was at this valiant yet tragic moment that the heavily wounded Imperator Cheng suddenly let out a laugh. The Vermilion Bird Star Source, a sphere blazing with fierce flames, appeared in his hand.
And just like Imperator Jian before him, Imperator Cheng swallowed the starsource whole. Its power transformed into flames that engulfed his entire body and his cosmoforce seemed to have been reborn in nirvana, releasing unimaginable might.
Amid the blazing rebirth, a firebird soared forth with unstoppable momentum that blasted away the attacks.
“Die!” Imperator Cheng went for Imperator Zhu. As old rivals, he understood him best of the four and chose him as his target. He waved a Vermilion Bird banner, and unleashed a flock of firebirds that swarmed Imperator Zhu.
He ignored the attacks of the other three imperatores entirely.
“Fool!” Imperator Zhu was both shocked and enraged. Fire dragons coiled around him before he collided head-on with Imperator Cheng.
The collision wiped out countless vermilion birds and fiery dragons. In the end, the boost from the starsource let Imperator Cheng overpower Imperator Zhu. His banner mightily cleaved away half of Imperator Zhu’s body, dispersing the constellation.
“Jiang Cheng!” Imperator Zhu felt the damage, madness surging through him. He had never expected this reckless action by Imperator Cheng.
But in the end, there were four imperatores teaming up. Imperator Cheng had opened himself up to merciless attacks from the other three. A massive dagger fell, piercing through his body and causing it to explode.
Though Imperator Cheng was peerlessly valiant and had struck terror into Imperator Zhu, he couldn't overcome the odds.
Finally... Imperator Cheng was reduced to a cosmic-god essence.
Imperator Zhu let out a breath of relief, a cold sneer returned to his face. “You old dog, did you really think risking it would change your fate?”
In his eyes, Imperator Cheng no longer had any chance of survival. Even with only half a body left, he could finish him off.

Tianming was also in dire straits. His success in cracking the tombstone had only drawn a chilling smile from the Adjudicator.
“Futile!” Crimson blood-tribulation power surged to form three new blood tombstones that joined the first to descend upon Tianming. A single tombstone had nearly crushed Tianming, and the best he could do was crack it a little. Now, four there were.
Hundreds of millions of crimson chains extended from the tombstones to form a new blood cocoon to trap Tianming. Corrosive blood-tribulation power invaded his body.
Despair swept across the starcage.
The war seemed all but decided when a streak of golden-black light split heaven and earth.
Imperator Zhu, still flushed with triumph, had no time to react before the beam pierced the remaining half of his body, blasting him into cosmic-god essence just like Imperator Cheng.
