Chapter 3082: We Don’t Have Food or Water
Ning Shu was at a loss for words. Was the tanned girl not afraid that she might do something to her in her sleep? She was out like a dead pig.
Ning Shu cultivated until dawn, then patted the tanned girl’s face while saying, “Time to get up.”
The tanned girl jolted awake. She hurriedly looked around before letting out a sigh of relief.
She had thought she was still on the island.
She felt a bit embarrassed and said, “I should have taken over the watch.”
Ning Shu didn’t respond to her words. Instead, she said, “We don’t have food or water.”
The tanned girl grinned and said, “That’s no problem. I’ll go catch a fish, and we can have sashimi.”
With that, she jumped off the raft.
Ning Shu couldn’t help but shake her head. The ocean was dangerous. Did she think it was just some little creek back home?
As Ning Shu shook her head, she noticed a massive white ship heading in their direction. She stood up, and the raft beneath her rocked from this movement.
Ning Shu narrowed her eyes at the approaching vessel.
Whoever was on that ship was more likely an enemy than a friend.
The tanned girl suddenly burst up from the water and tossed a fish onto the raft. The fish flopped around wildly.
She wiped the water from her face and followed Ning Shu’s gaze, then finally spotted the massive ship.
Immediately, she shouted excitedly, “Over here! Over here! Help—”
Before she could finish, Ning Shu crouched down and shoved her back into the water, cutting off her voice.
Ning Shu quietly waited for the ship to get closer.
It was enormous.
The tanned girl resurfaced. She coughed a couple of times before quickly spitting out the seawater in her mouth. She turned to Ning Shu and asked, “What are you doing?”
“Quiet. That ship belongs to SR Conglomerate, the sponsor of the survival show,” Ning Shu said. Only a corporation as wealthy as SR Conglomerate could afford a ship this big.
The tanned girl looked utterly confused as if she had a giant question mark floating over her head. It was clear she had no idea what Ning Shu meant.
She was a simple-minded child and didn’t understand the twists and turns of the situation.
“Can’t we ask for help from them?” the tanned girl asked.
She was still hoping they would be rescued.
Ning Shu glanced back. The island was already out of sight. All around them was an endless stretch of ocean, and they had no way to determine direction.
When she and the tanned girl had escaped, no one had made a move.
Now that they thought they were in the clear, these people suddenly appeared.
What could they do when they were in this vast, isolated sea?
They were completely at their mercy now.
The tanned girl tried to climb back onto the raft, but Ning Shu said, “Don’t get on yet. There might be danger.”
“What danger could there be?” The tanned girl was confused. “Just let me up. Staying in the water is even more dangerous. I think something just touched my foot.”
She figured it was probably a fish, but what if it was something dangerous?
Ning Shu felt a bit helpless and nodded. “Alright. Come up.”
The massive ship drew closer and closer, then finally stopped in front of them. The waves caused by its weight nearly overturned their vine raft.
Ning Shu and the tanned girl crouched down. They gripped the vines tightly to keep their raft from capsizing.
The ship came to a stop, and someone on board spoke through a loudspeaker, “Tie the ropes around yourselves, and we’ll pull you up.”
A pair of ropes were thrown down.
Ning Shu looked up and saw that people on the ship were pointing guns at her and the tanned girl.
This level of firepower…
The tanned girl turned to Ning Shu and asked, “Should we go up?”
“Do you see those guns?” Ning Shu lifted her eyelids. “They’ll turn us into a beehive if we don’t.”
