Chapter 3539: Medusa (5)
As Poseidon’s wandering hands moved lower, Ning Shu caught him by the wrist. “What are you trying to feel?”
Poseidon raised his thick eyebrows, a wicked, lecherous grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Do you prefer talking about it?”
“I’m feeling you—feeling your body,” he said while intentionally lowering his voice.
Ning Shu: …
Poseidon tried to shake off Ning Shu’s hand, but her grip held fast. To his surprise, he couldn’t break free immediately.
He chuckled wickedly again. “So you like it forced?”
“I’m starting to like you more and more.” Interest flickered in his deep blue eyes. If a woman were weeping and terrified, it might be a bit of a turn-off, but he could still stomach it. After all, she was beautiful, and a tearful look had its own charm.
But if they could have a fierce union, one as determined as a battle to the death, it would certainly be more thrilling.
Poseidon had many women. Any beautiful siren or goddess in the ocean with even a hint of looks had been involved with him. The King of the Gods himself was a massive lecher, so how could the atmosphere he cultivated be any better?
Ning Shu said, “Sea God, do you really intend to do this? Do you care nothing for your own dignity or that of the goddess?”
“Dignity? Believe me, this is a very pleasant thing. You’ll grow to love the feeling.” Poseidon leaned toward Ning Shu’s ear. She quickly dodged, otherwise he would have licked her ear canal.
The sensation was more disgusting than being licked by a dog that had just eaten excrement.
Indeed, what was dignity? He was a god, and whatever a god did was right. They didn’t even need a fig leaf. To them, this was as common as eating or drinking. It was mind-boggling how indulgent these gods had become.
Ning Shu watched Poseidon silently.
“I love your eyes,” he said drunkenly. “They are so beautiful.”
As he spoke, he stuck out his tongue, wanting to lick Ning Shu’s eyes.
Ning Shu: …
Good heavens!
Could he have at least a shred of aesthetic sense?
Even as a god, he was as pathetic as any mortal in the face of desire. His ugliness was fully on display.
Ning Shu delivered a resounding thwack of a slap to Poseidon’s face as he drew near. She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but his breath felt like a spray of salty, fishy seawater on her face.
It was far from pleasant, so she simply slapped him. Why did he have to lean in so close just to talk?
The slap rang out, and the air fell silent. Poseidon’s head was knocked aside by the power of Ning Shu’s ‘qilin arm.’
She shook off his wrist and took two steps back. Poseidon slowly turned his face back, touched his cheek, and looked at Ning Shu with cold eyes. Divine pressure erupted from him. “You dare to profane a deity?”
Ning Shu kept her hands behind her back. “What is profaning a deity? Even deicide isn’t out of the question.”
“You…” Poseidon fixed her with a sharp gaze. “A mere human priestess dares to speak of deicide? With just that sentence, I could wipe out the entire human race.”
“I am myself. Why use humanity to threaten me? Don’t forget, there have been human heroes who slaughtered gods. If a god is unjust, humans will rise in revolt, and the god will become a demon in their stories rather than a deity to be revered.” Ning Shu spoke with a smile.
Humans instinctively justified and rationalized their actions.
He thought she would be scared if he placed the fate of humanity on her shoulders, but she wouldn’t carry that burden. Besides, humanity wouldn’t feel sympathy for her plight. They would only turn her story into a legend.
She would just be the hideous, terrifying Gorgon of their tales.
Poseidon laughed. “I like you even more now. Most women are subservient when they see me, cowering before my great power. Yet you actually dare to defy me.”
Ning Shu: …
Woman, you have successfully caught my attention. You are so different from other women.
She just wanted to roll her eyes. Did he really think he was some domineering CEO of the divine realm?
Poseidon’s massive frame loomed toward her. Ning Shu retreated, watching him with a dazzling, enchanting smile. “Don’t come any closer. I’m warning you.”
“Alright, let’s play.” Poseidon chuckled. His eyes were filled with intense lust and a deep desire for conquest.
He reached out, and an inexplicable force pushed Ning Shu toward him.
Unable to control her movement, Ning Shu drifted toward him. She didn’t struggle. Instead, she followed the force to get close to him. Then, she sank her breath into her internal core and lashed out with a kick squarely against his chest.
Poseidon was burly, so the kick only made him stumble back two steps without causing any real damage. He took the opportunity to grab her ankle and pulled hard. “Little woman, come with me to my palace beneath the sea.”
Ning Shu said nothing. She kicked at him with her other foot, spinning her body to break free from his grip. She landed lightly on the floor, the bells on her ankles tinkling with a clear, pleasant sound.
Ning Shu said, “Sea God, the goddess will be back from Mount Olympus any moment now. It wouldn’t be good to do such things in her palace, would it?”
Poseidon touched his lips. His gaze was burning. “There’s nothing ‘not good’ about it.”
He stopped being polite. A bit of flirting to liven things up was fine, but he couldn’t play around forever.
Radiant with intense divine majesty, Poseidon appeared before her in a flash. With a grab of his hand, Ning Shu’s clothes were shredded.
She grabbed the thin veils hanging nearby to wrap around her body and released a massive, dragon-shaped burst of energy toward him.
The dragon lunged at Poseidon with incredible speed, passing right through his body. The sheer impact caught him off guard, slamming him into the temple wall and sending cracks spiderwebbing across the surface.
Poseidon clutched his chest. Such immense power actually made his divine body ache.
He looked at the coiled dragon—a spectral creature formed from countless stars. Its eyes held a hint of intelligence, yet it lacked the vital aura of a living being.
Suddenly, Poseidon burst into laughter. “Hahaha!”
His laughter was thunderous, echoing through the temple with a demonic quality.
Ning Shu remained expressionless.
Psychopath. What the hell is he laughing at?
“Haha! I wonder how Athena will feel when she learns her priestess is no ordinary human. You have betrayed your god, deceived your god, and profaned your god.”
Ning Shu patted her chest. “Oh, I’m so scared. I’m terrified.”
As if Athena would care even if she did know.
