Chapter 3546: Medusa (12)

Chapter 3546: Medusa (12)

The collision between Poseidon’s trident and Athena’s scepter unleashed a force that nearly shattered the barrier Ning Shu had constructed.

With a flick of her finger, Ning Shu drew water from the wells of Athens to reinforce the barrier.

“Poseidon, if you want to fight, get out of my city! If you are so capable, take her to the sea and fight there!” Athena was currently hesitating for fear of unintended damage. She desperately wanted to deal with this priestess, but she could not simply allow these two to fight here without restraint. If her temple and her city-state collapsed, the matter would become a laughingstock among the gods on Mount Olympus.

She, Athena, would be mocked forever.

“Athena, get the hell out of my way, or I’ll fight you too!” Poseidon’s expression was irritable and mocking. “Your priestess has committed such a rebellious act and profaned the gods, yet you still want to protect her?”

Athena’s expression remained as hard as iron. She spoke through gritted teeth. “Get out of my city-state and my temple!”

Both of them were fighting recklessly at her doorstep, destroying her city and severely damaging the divine majesty she held in the hearts of her believers.

Ning Shu watched from the side as Poseidon and Athena clashed. She remained perfectly calm, acting as if the matter had nothing to do with her.

Occasionally, she repaired the barrier.

Ning Shu, Poseidon, and Athena stood in a triangular deadlock, each struggling against the others. All three were in opposition.

If all three of them fully committed to the battle at once, Athena’s temple would likely go flying.

“Ahem…” Ning Shu coughed, trying to catch the attention of Poseidon and Athena.

“Do you need me to join the fight? If not, I’d like to head out first,” Ning Shu asked.

Poseidon and Athena retreated at the same time, surrounding Ning Shu in the middle. It looked as though they planned to join forces to capture her.

“Who exactly are you? My priestess had no power. She was just an ordinary human,” Athena questioned suspiciously.

Ning Shu brushed her hair back and put her hands on her hips. “I am Medusa, of course. Have you ever seen anyone else as beautiful as me?”

Athena stared silently at the narcissistic Ning Shu. The face was indeed Medusa’s, but Medusa never possessed such formidable power, nor could she have ever seized control over Poseidon’s ocean.

What astonished Athena was why this human had suddenly gained the strength to resist a god. This was a grave matter. If humans could obtain such power from unknown sources, would they still submit to the deities?

Would they become a threat to the gods of Mount Olympus? Would a war break out between humanity and the divine?

And if so, would humans attempt to slay the gods?

Slaying gods!

As a goddess, Athena naturally had to consider the interests of the divine. Once humans lost their awe, faith, and worship, many gods would fall.

“If you tell me how you became like this, I can spare your life. You can even become my spokesperson and remain a priestess of the temple,” Athena offered.

Staying as Athena’s priestess was definitely out of the question. Athena currently viewed her with both wariness and hatred. To keep working under her and prostrating herself every day?

I’m done being a priestess. I’m hopping to a new job!

“Why are you telling her so much? Just grab her like I said, and everything will be clear,” Poseidon said. He was desperate to capture Ning Shu and use torture to force her to reveal the secret of how she was controlling the sea and the water.

Even Poseidon had to admit that his control over the ocean was not as refined as this woman’s. He could only use his trident to raise tsunamis and hurricanes. He could not shape water into whatever form he desired.

If he mastered this power, he would become even more formidable than Zeus. He could kick Zeus off the throne of the king of the gods. His strength would achieve a qualitative leap.

Athena’s face darkened when she heard Poseidon’s reckless words.

This blockhead made it sound easy, but capturing the opponent would not be a simple task. Did he want her city-state to be destroyed and her temple to be left in ruins?

Athena had too many concerns, so she was forced to hold back.

Standing atop the dragon’s head, Ning Shu let out a laugh. She said to Poseidon, “Come and catch me! If you catch me, I’ll let you… hehehe…”

Poseidon: …

That damned woman!

Poseidon had only come to ‘steal a beauty.’ He never expected things to develop to this point. He had actually suffered a setback at the hands of a mere human woman.

At the same time, Poseidon saw a chance to truly master the power of the ocean and the water. As long as he captured and devoured this woman, he could become stronger—even more powerful than before.

It was only devouring a human, after all. Just as Zeus had devoured his lover and birthed Athena from his own head, devouring a human now would be an easy task.

Poseidon flew toward Ning Shu, stretching out a hand as large as a cattail leaf fan to seize her. However, the dragon beneath Ning Shu’s feet carried her far out of reach.

“Don’t hide if you are so capable!” Poseidon’s face turned black.

Ning Shu sat on the head of the spirit dragon, swinging her long legs back and forth. She said, “Come and catch me if you are so capable!”

Athena held her scepter, which crackled with lightning. She unleashed a bolt of thunder toward Ning Shu, who quickly dodged.

Like her father Zeus, Athena had mastered the power of lightning. Setting aside the fact that a lightning strike would be incredibly painful and cause serious injury, the thin veils she was wearing would surely be burned to ash. Then she would be left streaking.

The lightning struck the tail of the spirit dragon with a loud crackle. The dragon’s form stiffened before finally dissipating.

The residual electrical force traveled into Ning Shu’s body, leaving her feeling quite numb.

Ning Shu pointed a finger at Athena. Athena was instantly trapped within a barrier that resembled a translucent bubble.

However, given Athena’s great strength, she broke through the barrier in an instant.

Ning Shu quickly wrapped her veils tighter. She wouldn’t let anyone see such a beautiful body, especially not a lecher like Poseidon.

Although the dragon had dissipated, it quickly reformed. Ning Shu stood atop its head, her laughter sounding like clear, tinkling bells. “Bye-bye! I’m taking my leave now. I’ll settle the score for today’s events another time!”

As she spoke, she flicked her finger to break the barrier covering Athens. The dragon flew with incredible speed, turning into a tiny black speck in the blink of an eye.

“Stand still!” Poseidon chased after her, looking as though he wouldn’t stop until one of them was dead.

In a flash, Poseidon’s figure also became a small black dot. Athena looked at the ruined city of Athens and her damaged temple.

If divine power hadn’t been protecting the temple, it would have been weathered into sand by the powerful forces by now.

Athena’s expression was hideous. She was determined to capture that priestess and obtain her secrets.
