Chapter 1707: The innocent one and the verbal gaffe

"Patriarch of the Yakumo clan, Yakumo Shiro, a pleasure to meet you."

Hakurei gasped.

"Ha?"

Reimu inhaled deeply before leering at him.

"Is this a joke?"

"What's a joke?"

Wu Yan feigned ignorance.

"Why would you say that?"

"I don't know which clan you think you truly hail from and I don't know why you have that Yakumo surname but you don't have the aura of someone who lived in Gensokyo, you came from beyond the barrier."

Reimu grumbled.

"And, how would I not know if there was someone like that in the Yakumo faction? Do you think I am easy to fool like a kid?"

"I am not lying."

Wu Yan sighed.

"You can ask Yukari, I am very chummy with her."

Reimu was puzzled.

It is weird for there to be another Yakumo.

Yakumo Yukari is one of the major contributors to the Hakurei Barrier and as such the two faction had many dealings together.

Yukari would have let Hakurei know if Wu Yan was truly who he said he was.

However, ignoring his lack of Gensokyo aura, he knows Yukari.

Maybe she was wrong?

Reimu wasn't over it, she glared at him.

"Hold up, even if you're from the Yakumo clan, you seriously think I believe you're the patriarch?"

Yukari is the de facto leader she knows.

There's no way he is the real leader.

Having predicted this response, Wu Yan grinned.

"I am the patriarch, or rather, I am the future patriarch."

"Because..."

Wu Yan chuckled.

"Yukari is my fiancee."

"What was that?!"

Reimu shrieked.

"Yukari is your fiancee?!"

"Yeah."

Wu Yan bowed once.

"Reimu-san, please take care of my Yakumo family from now on."

"Th-this has to be a joke."

Reimu backed away while voicing her disbelief.

"She is a moldy old hag, who would want her?!"

A gap opened up and shot a laser before anyone could react.

The laser swiftly disintegrated Reimu's offering box once more.

Boom

The offering box blew up in front of Reimu.

"AHHHHH!!!"

Reimu cried out in shock.

"MY OFFERINGS BOX!!!"

Reimu tried to feel for her box as if she thinks the laser just turned her box invisible. Alas, her box was truly gone.

Reimu was enraged, she roared at the sky.

"Yukari! Come out!"

Yukari's gap closed in a final middle finger to her anger.

Reimu almost died of anger.

Wu Yan sighed.

Yukari and Flan were separated when he came into this world.

He hopes they're okay.

At least, it is easy to guess that they went back to where they were summoned from.

"Yukari, that lady..."

Wu Yan grumbled.

"She could have said something if she saw me."

"Yeah! Tell her to come out and face me!"

Reimu grabbed Wu Yan by the collar and she shook him.

"Tell her to come out! Now!"

"Yukari won't come out even if you break your vocal chords shouting at me or her."

Wu Yan felt a little dizzy from the shaking.

"If you want to see her, just go to her house."

"If I could then don't you think I would have gone already?!"

Reimu gnashed her teeth.

"In Gensokyo, nobody knows her house."

"Oh?"

Wu Yan was genuinely intrigued.

"Not even you know eh?"

He assumed she would know since they're both important figures in Gensokyo. And, Reimu appeared closer to Yukari than anyone else in Gensokyo.

"Yukari invites people through her portals. Only Yuyuko would know her exact location."

"Okay, Mr Patriarch, why don't you know the location of your own house?!"

"Ahaha..."

Wu Yan grinned.

"What can I say? I truly don't know where it is."

"Y-You..."

Reimu wanted to hammer Wu Yan's head but she let go of him.

"Anyway, you're on the hook for the box, fix it."

"Look, I can't help you this time."

Wu Yan surrendered.

"If there were pieces left I could rewind the damage but she straightout sent your offering box to the shadow zone, how am I going to fix that?"

"I don't care!"

Reimu pinned this on him.

"Make me a new one!"

"Ha?"

Wu Yan gasped.

"But I didn't break it this time!"

"You're the patriarch and you're her fiancee."

Reimu waved her hands.

"Yukari broke my stuff so you're on the hook for it."

Wu Yan was stunned.

"Fix my box!"

Reimu hmph-ed.

"How else are people going to give me money when they come and pray?"

"Oh, don't worry about it..."

Wu Yan retorted.

"Not like there is any worshipper anyway."

"Huh, what was that?"

"Nothing..."

"Then get to fixing!"

Reimu mumbled.

"Yukari got herself a husband."

The gap just now meant that Yukari was watching and listening.

Yet, she didn't come out and deny it.

Reimu had to believe Wu Yan's story now.
