Chapter 6982: Heavenfall Path
For those in Survivor Realm, Heavenfall Path meant certain demise. The only known survivor was Myriad Tribulations Immortal.
As for outsiders, some risked the tribulations to enter Ruin. This required the overlord realm, at the very least. They wanted the immortal fortune hidden in Heavenfall Path and Dusk Realm.
Now, one appeared to be available in Heavenfall Path. The temptation was too much to resist.
Most used the available path but others didn’t want to ask the fortress race for help. Thus, they traveled through the tribulations. Many overlords fell to the tribulations while certain immortals couldn’t enter Ruin.
Heavenfall Path was the way to reach Heaven Pit and Dusk Realm. Thus, the path was not the final destination for the more powerful cultivators.
After leaving Survivor Realm, Li Qiye also entered the path - a different dimension from the rest of Ruin.
Previously, Heavenfall, Dusk, and Hidden Immortal have refined most of Ruin into this special dimension.
Terrible temporal and spatial storms ravaged the massive dimension. Broken planets could be seen everywhere.
A winding path stretched across the entire dimension, seemingly paved from fractured gray rocks. This was the only known safe passage to Heaven Pit.
As Li Qiye traversed the path, the stones beneath his feet occasionally collided with one another, producing clacking noises.
Rumor has it this path was Heavenfall’s bone - a testament to his incredible size. Others believed that it was his spine, to be exact.
The body of a celestial immortal, although broken, still had leftover essences. A piece of flesh or a drop of blood was still priceless.
However, these so-called treasures could also become evil after being infected by death. Vile black gales often hunted for victims, disolving any flesh and blood upon contact.
Occasionally, one could come across shimmering bones. They were similar to the one found by Myriad Tribulations Immortal.
An overlord saw one, prompting him to activate defensive treasures and use his fastest movement technique.
He crossed through the storms and reached for it. Unfortunately, an evil gale caught and crushed him to nothingness.
A different immortal took advantage of this, only to be ambushed by a second gale. He used his immortal flame and treasures to block it.
“Whoosh!” A second immortal was faster and grasped the bone.
“Old Huang!” The first immortal was furious and gave chase.
Another type of evil appeared from time to time - jet-black creatures resembling monkeys with a pair of wings. Whenever they saw victims’ corpses, they would swoop in to devour.
These creatures were born from Heavenfall’s corrupted flesh and blood. After his death, his body was ravaged by tribulations. The process somehow created life - a form of continuation after death. Nonetheless, no visitors wanted to harvest the corrupted fiends.
The thing that was on the immortals’ minds was none other than Heavenfall’s celestial source. They didn’t wish to waste time on anything else.
As for Li Qiye, he observed the state of a celestial corpse that was not properly disposed.
“Foul smell.” He couldn’t help but shake his head. Heavenfall only suffered a physical death but now, the corpse was partly corrupted.
As for the old man killed by Li Qiye, he suffered a death in both body and true fate. However, he still took care of the corpse properly so it was a clean death, leaving behind no decay and corruption.
