“What is this A’lai cycle?” Another asked.

“A’lai is what we call the final tribulation, the destruction of everything. Only a few immortals can survive. The last time this happened... virtually forgotten by now.” Heaven’s Equal explained.

“Yes, only a few survive. Celestial immortals and some primordial immortals. Anyone lower would have been lucky.” A golden immortal said.

Many turned toward Heaven’s Equal since he should be the most knowledgeable.

“Demise and Slayer have experienced cycles before.” Heaven’s Equal said.

“Who is the third celestial immortal?” Someone asked.

This immortal resembled a gray dragon, seemingly drinking water from the ocean. Its body resembled sludge for one second and mist for the next. However, muscles and membranes could be seen within, made from a chaotic derivation of various affinities. They seemed to be in their nascent stage, giving off a creepy and nauseating sensation.

“Dragongrasp.” Heaven’s Equal answered.

All things were born from heaven and earth. However, their body was made from some physical attributes. For example, a plant had roots while the living had flesh and blood. This entity was made from affinities such as the yin and yang, karma, and reincarnation.

“Heaven and earth can’t birth you.” Li Qiye said.

“The high heaven willed it.” Dragongrasp said.

“Another inaccurate self-assessment.” Li Qiye smiled: “In a state resembling ointment like yourself? You think too lowly of the high heaven. Although it is a bastard, its taste is beyond question.” Li Qiye said.
