Chapter 7101: Unforgiven

Li Qiye and Qian Suyun walked hand-in-hand amidst the chaos. The lack of time laws did them a favor. Their steps left behind indelible marks.

“I do want to be with you.” She said softly but with conviction.

“I know, but you have your own pursuit.” He sighed.

“I can’t give it up.” She said.

“Silly girl, no one needs to give up themselves for someone else. All your efforts would have been in vain.” He caressed her face.

“I can’t keep up with you either.” She grabbed his hand.

“A few things aren’t easy or hard, just unnecessary.” He smiled.

“I do think it’s necessary at times.” She said.

Li Qiye waved and formed a cliff from the chaos. The two sat down, side by side. He then turned the scene ahead to an ocean at dawn. Their shadows stretched endlessly during this timeless moment.

“I feel selfish at times.” She said.

He held her hand and said: “It’s a matter of determination and conviction, not selfishness. But if you think so, then I am selfish as well since I never stopped for anyone, not for you or her.”

“Saying this out loud, does it sound cruel and selfish?” She asked.

“Is that what you think of me?” He asked.

“No, because without your conviction, you would have been buried long ago. And you are cruel and selfish to yourself, more so than anyone else.” She said: “You could have taken everything yet chose to return it to the world.”

“You are doing the same, offering yourself to the world.” He said.

“But not you.” Her hands trembled.

“It’s alright, just like me.” He placed his arm around her shoulder and sighed.

“Sorry.” She whispered softly but the word imprinted into his mind. Tears inadvertently streamed down her cheeks.

“I should be saying sorry. This world is just too large.” He embraced her into his chest.

“Large, but not enough to endure you.” She said.

“I’m just too strong now.” He smiled bitterly.

“I know.” She buried her face into his chest: “I will continue forward, always.”

“We have spent time together and shared happiness, these memories will always be there.” He said.

“I won’t forget them.” She said.

The two of them seemed to turn to stone during this embrace.

“You have to go.” After a long time, she looked up and said.

“Yes, and your world initiation starts soon too.” He said.

“I don’t know where to start.” She nodded.

“From here, this abandoned world. Let everything start from nothing and grow into something, this will be worthy of your pursuit.” Li Qiye said.

“So be it, steadfast until the end.” She nodded.

“Yes.” He sighed.

She stared at him and asked: “I wonder when we can meet again.”

“We can make it, to your new beginning.” He said and took out something.

“What is it?” She asked.

“A gift.” He smiled mysteriously.

She chuckled and knew what it was right away due to their connection.
