Chapter 625: I am Unwilling
Ling Chuxi watched the two swords clashing tyrannically before her. Every small move and each light flick of the sword tip through the air appeared to be so simple and plain but was heaven defying. Seeing their sword poses, Ling Chuxi felt as though she was reliving the battles that occurred on this continent thousands of years ago.
Ling Chuxi had long since been unable to differentiate between who was who, and could only feel an endless murderous intent and vast waves of great qi permeating through the sky chaotically, at times offsetting each other, at times clashing violently.
Ling Chuxi’s heart was on guard. Regardless of her level of understanding towards everything that was happening in her mind, she understood one thing clearly. The so-called Cang Yuan that had appeared was trying to destroy her own consciousness and snatch her Nine Gloom Absolute Meridians away. And as for the sword spirit that had long since existed in her mind, it was desperately protecting her from Cang Yuan’s intentions.
The moment he failed, she would also thoroughly be a goner.
The two of them barely missed each other countless of times as their swords met countless times before finally coming to a stop when both their sword blades met once more, and each was pushing back against the other as the both of them were desperately withstanding the others might. Both their faces were covered in fatigue and their figures even turned illusionary. They fell into a stalemate with this stance since both their strengths were of similar levels.
Ling Chuxi wanted to help but she did not know how to use her mind to mobilize an attack. Her heart started to get anxious. If things continued on like this, she would truly, thoroughly vanish. She did not wish to just disappear thoroughly just like this. This current version of herself was no longer who she was before. The past version of herself was someone without a care and who was all alone so even if she were to die, she did not mind. But now, she had too many cares and concerns. At this moment, Qingjue who was waiting for her was definitely anxious as if his heart was burning. How could she leave without a care for Qingjue? She had sworn that she would never betray his deep affections and kind intentions. No! She definitely needed to get out of this difficult situation, see the sky again and return to Qingjue’s side.
“Quick, integrate your blood with the Luo Chen Sword and establish a contract with the sword spirit. Only then can we seize a chance,” a mellow voice suddenly rang out in her mind.
Ling Chuxi took a quick glance at the dueling man and sword spirit in the sky and saw that a vicious smile had appeared on the man’s face as a cruel gleam lit up his eyes. The divine light in the sword spirit’s eyes gradually dimmed, he was obviously having trouble fending off the man’s aggression.
Without time to think anymore, Ling Chuxi instinctively reached out to grab the Luo Chen Sword.
Only at this point did Ling Chuxi realize that her consciousness seemed to have recovered to an amazing state. One part of her consciousness fell into the depths of her mind whilst the other was supporting her body.
The Luo Chen Sword’s sharp blade was drawn and slid across her finger, causing a slight piercing pain to come coursing over her finger. A drop of blood oozed out of the gash and blended into the icy cold blade as if it had been immersed in sand. Then, a red light flashed on the tip of the sword’s silver white surface before speedily disappearing.
Within her mind, a faint red hue hung suspended like an abandoned rainbow somewhere in a lost galaxy.
“What are you trying to do?” asked the man as a vicious smile froze on his face and surprise and panic took over.
The sword spirit glanced at the man as his lips moved slightly. A mysterious light pattern resembling water ripples moved across the galaxy of Ling Chuxi’s mind and a sound rang out in her ears. It sounded as if the wind was speaking softly to her, as if the earth itself was chanting and the sky was whispering.
“You… You! A Divine Sword Ancient Contract. How dare you actually use a Divine Sword Ancient Contract! How could the Ancient Killing Sword, Cang Yuan’s spirit become a slave to a mere mortal? I am unwilling! I am unwilling…” The man roared in reluctance as his dangerous face twisted and changed, and his voice trailed off.
However, under the gentle power of the rippling light patterns, the man totally had no power to resist what was happening.
His figure become more and more illusory, eventually turning into a mere illusory spot of light and shadow before merging with the figure of the sword spirit.
Exactly who was Cang Yuan and who was the sword spirit, even Ling Chuxi was unable to differentiate clearly now.
