Chapter 3331: Nonsense

Chapter 3331: NonsenseEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Augustine looked at the scene before him, feeling as if he were dreaming, his throat drying up slightly.

With his current spiritual strength, he could easily control dozens of holy gemstones.

So...

Could this terrifying power really be under his control?

Augustine stood frozen, overwhelmed to the point that he could not think for a moment.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind again.

"Ha ha ha ha, what you can achieve is far more than this, my believer."

Augustine suddenly snapped back to reality and looked at Adam, "The cost? What is the cost? My life? My soul?"

"I am no Evil God. Your soul means nothing to me. I only need your loyalty, believer," Zane coaxed. "Are you willing to listen to the will of the Shadow God, follow the law of the Shadow God, and place your faith in the Shadow God?"

Augustine’s hands trembled.

The terrifying power... once experienced, could he ever give it up?

He could not!

"I am willing! I am your loyal believer, Shadow God!"

...

Three days later.

Olivia walked into the church temple, feeling uneasy.

She still did not fully trust Adam.

Especially after noticing that Adam had been completely absent for the past two days. From what she heard from a few classmates, Adam had not appeared since the final assessment that day.

If anything went wrong with the temple under Adam’s responsibility, Olivia worried that the instructor would take it out on her. So after finishing her cultivation, she hurried over to check the situation.

Entering the church’s high-level control room, Olivia saw that the Netherworld map on the ceiling was functioning normally, with no alarms sounding. She let out a slight sigh of relief.

She had been overthinking.

Adam was still reliable.

At least he hadn’t caused any trouble.

Olivia moved under the magic array and looked up carefully at the state of the Netherworld.

Huh?

Something felt off?

Why did it seem...

How could this be?

The Netherworld territory managed by Church No. 177 had expanded?

And it had more than doubled!?

Originally, the map showed 45 plots; now it occupied 99 plots!

When had it spread?

Olivia felt dizzy, and a chill ran down her spine.

Was it Adam?

This was bad!

Had he gone mad, applying for more plots in the instructor’s name?

Looking more closely, she saw that the overall Netherworld creature index in their territory had doubled!

That idiot!

The surrounding plots were largely unguarded and had long accumulated wandering Netherworld creatures. Once new plots were claimed, the overall creature density would spike quickly.

A mistake like that could be deemed unacceptable!

If they did not reduce the index soon, the central church would hold them accountable.

Angry, Olivia hurried to look for Adam, intending to stop his reckless actions before the instructor found out.

Upon learning that Adam was on a mission in the Netherworld, she immediately teleported there.

Netherworld.

As a dark golden vortex appeared in the sky, Olivia descended through the pillar of light that spilled from it.

Huh?

What was that?

Olivia witnessed something she could never have imagined.

Before her, countless soul warrior spirits gathered densely!

At least a thousand, and all high-tier!

Tier 7! Or perhaps Tier 8?

Seventh-tier soul warrior spirits could easily annihilate lower-tier evil spirit skeletons.

The holy power of their holy long swords could even fully dispel evil spirit skeletons, causing them to disappear completely for a short time.

Adam?

Where had he summoned so many oracles to eliminate Netherworld creatures?

Olivia instinctively looked around.

Suddenly, she realized something was off.

Only a dozen or so people were gathered not far away, controlling the soul warrior spirits.

Only a dozen?

Standing there, a terrifying thought crossed her mind.

Could all these soul warrior spirits have been summoned by Adam and these few people?

Were they really that powerful?

Something was wrong!

Their attire was not that of oracles, nor academy students.

She had spoken to the guard priests earlier. According to them, Adam had not issued any missions recently; he had handled almost all Netherworld problems personally.

So who were these people, and what was going on with these soul warrior spirits?

Looking up, Olivia saw Adam walking toward her.

"Olivia, why are you here?"

Olivia stared at Adam, suspicion in her eyes.

She wanted to ask about these people and the soul warrior spirits, and also about the expanded Netherworld territory.

Adam read her expression.

"I already asked Instructor Nois. He told me to make my own decisions and not to bother him."

Olivia was about to lose it and interrupted, "That’s not what I mean."

Adam thought for a moment, then said seriously, "As you can see, I need more points."

Olivia opened her mouth, unsure how to argue.

Occupying more territory did indeed generate more points, and with Adam’s seemingly insane strength, if he could reduce the Netherworld creature density to a certain level within a week, he could earn even more points.

But...

This was crazy!

With such power, why stay under Instructor Nois, being drained by him?

Olivia took a deep breath, "Adam, Nois is not an easy person to deal with."

"Thanks for the reminder. I understand."

Adam nodded slightly, ignoring Olivia, and turned back to control the soul warrior spirits in battle.

"You..."

Olivia, frustrated that Adam was being stubborn, took a deep breath and asked, "How are you controlling so many soul warrior spirits?"

"A special spiritual technique," Adam said calmly. "It involves some principles of sealing arts. You’re not at master level in sealing arts yet, so even if I explained, you wouldn’t understand."

Olivia grew increasingly uneasy, staring at Adam, "Where did you get this technique?"

"From the City Lord’s mansion," Adam said lightly. "It’s a secret of the mansion. Don’t reveal it."

Olivia’s heart skipped a beat, and she fell silent.

The City Lord’s mansion!

When had Adam developed such close ties with the mansion?

So his recent power surge and Church No. 177 acquiring so many plots were related to the City Lord’s mansion!?

Was the mansion playing a larger game behind the scenes?

"I understand now."

Olivia sensed the shadow of elite hands and dared not speak further. She nodded quietly and turned to leave.
