Chapter 3360: Refining

Chapter 3360: RefiningEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

As for this magic array...

Damon examined the structure of the magic array, a look of scrutiny flashing in his eyes.

A gathering structure? Refining?

Many of the runes and formations were ones he had never seen before, far beyond his existing knowledge system.

D*mn it!

Where on earth did he get so much knowledge about alchemy?

"It’s ready."

Adam spoke calmly, walking to the center of the magic array. He took off the burlap sack from his back and placed it in front of him, then turned it upside down.

"Shalala..."

Spirit stone ores poured out all over the ground.

"Gulp..."

Damon swallowed hard, staring fixedly at the scene before him, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"This..."

No mistake!

Those were the spirit crystal ores collected from Thunder Basin — raw materials for crafting high-tier holy gemstones!

So many!

Judging by their level, they were all top-grade materials.

D*mn it!

How did he even get his hands on all of this?

Damon’s heart was pounding wildly. When he looked at Adam, a trace of fear appeared in his eyes.

That uneasy feeling grew stronger and stronger.

Things were getting out of hand.

Damon was almost certain now that whatever had happened at Thunder Basin today had everything to do with Adam.

What should he do?

If the church found out...

Cold sweat began to form on Damon’s forehead.

"Shalala..."

Huh?

Damon looked up again and saw Adam’s soldiers pouring out more ores from the sacks they carried into the magic array.

More?

Damon’s heart skipped a beat. He glanced cautiously at Adam.

Adam stood still, expressionless.

Then, Damon saw the soldiers going back and forth between the spiritual world, the seventh floor, and the second basement of the Holy Spirit Temple. Each time, they carried another sack of high-tier raw ores to pour into the array.

More again?!

Damon’s eyes widened further and further; he felt like he was about to go insane.

So many ores!?

And all of them were high-tier ores.

How much of Thunder Basin’s ore did you dig out!?

Now Damon was certain: Thunder Basin had most likely been blown up by Adam.

He almost felt relieved.

Good thing it exploded!

To have secretly mined that much ore right under the church’s nose — if it hadn’t exploded, once the church discovered the ores were gone, they would definitely have traced it back to him!

But now...

Wouldn’t the church still trace it back to him?

While Damon was still anxious, he suddenly sensed a surge of psychic energy. His heart jumped.

Huh!?

He looked up and saw the magic array on the ceiling and the one on the floor rotating slowly at the same time.

A double-layered magic array with a special structure!

Damon stared intently at the magic array.

As it operated, he gradually understood its purpose.

The lower array mainly served to refine and condense, while the upper one acted to conceal the aura and stabilize the structure.

Refining?!

Could it be that he wanted to...?

Refine the spirit crystal ores into even higher-tier condensed crystals?

Could that even work?

In fact, the Alchemy Association had considered this possibility before.

However, the structure of spirit crystal ores was extremely unique and unstable; even a small mistake could cause an explosion, making the refining process incredibly difficult.

After hundreds of years of failed attempts, the Alchemy Society eventually gave up. Within the field of alchemy, it was considered an impossible task.

Yet now Adam was doing it!

Under the intense condensation of spiritual power, the spirit crystal ores within the magic array emitted a faint whitish glow.

"Chi, chi chi chi..."

The impurities in the crystal ores evaporated rapidly.

The crystalline structure was recombining in a new form!

"Gulp..."

The sight was too shocking; Damon couldn’t help but swallow again.

Everything that had happened today felt too unbelievable.

He even wondered if he was dreaming.

After running for more than two hours, the magic array finally slowed to a stop.

The ores that had once filled most of the array were now reduced to only thirteen highly condensed spirit crystal ores, each about half the size of a fist.

"Can I take a look?"

Damon licked his lips, walked carefully to the edge of the array, and cautiously picked up one of the newly refined ores to examine it in his palm.

As soon as he held it, a strong wave of spiritual energy surged through his hand.

An extremely pure spirit crystal raw ore!

Damon’s heart skipped again; even his hands trembled slightly.

If such ore were used as the material for crafting a holy orb, it could definitely produce an orb of a higher level than anything the church currently had!

That was something even the church couldn’t accomplish!

And yet an ordinary academy exchange student could?

Impossible!

Then what was Adam’s true identity?

Adam gestured to his soldiers.

They understood and continued transporting ores from the spiritual world, pouring them back into the array.

What, it wasn’t over yet!?

Damon was stunned, staring at Adam in shock and fear.

Could it be that he really had dug up half of Thunder Basin’s high-tier ores?

...

The refining lasted an entire day.

By the time all the ores were processed, Fang Heng had collected a total of 172 top-grade raw crystal ores.

Damon had also stayed up the whole time, standing dazed before the teleportation passage to the spiritual world.

He admitted it; he had gotten greedy.

At first, he had only made the deal with Adam to obtain an alchemy scroll.

Who could have imagined that taking Adam into the Land of Thunder would lead to such terrifying consequences?

What should he do next?

All he could do was pray that Adam had covered his tracks well enough not to be discovered by the church.

But now that he was involved, there was no turning back.

He knew too much about Adam. Would Adam let him live? Would the church?

A soldier approached Damon and bowed, "Mr. Damon, Mr. Adam invites you into the spiritual world. He has something he wants you to see."

"Alright."

One step at a time, then.

Damon took a deep breath and stepped into the magic array, entering the spiritual world.

"Adam, is everything done?"

"Yes. Thanks to the Alchemy Society’s assistance. There’s something I wonder if the Alchemy Society might be interested in."

"Hm?"

Damon asked curiously, "What is it?"

Adam raised his hand slightly, revealing a glowing orb in his palm.

Damon’s heart skipped a beat.

A holy orb?

No, not a holy orb. To be precise, it looked more like a martial soul orb.

And a top-level one at that!

Was it made using those refined high-tier spirit crystals?

Just as Damon was about to ask, the martial soul orb flashed.

Whoosh!

A soul body emerged from within the martial soul orb.

A martial soul?

Huh?! What?!

Damon stared at the martial soul, eyes wide with disbelief.

That was...

The martial soul’s body flickered with purple lightning. The tangible violet arcs formed a layer of armor around it, and a deep purple current crackled along the battle axe in its right hand.

"A Thunder Martial Soul, modeled after the soul warrior spirits and Stellar Souls."

Adam explained calmly, his gaze shifting to a hovering eighth-tier spiritual construct not far away. He said softly, "Go."
