Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1707: Deducing The Future State of The World

Chapter 1707: Deducing The Future State of The World

’On another note, why the hell does Xu Shi also have a Chaos Demon God inside of her?’ Wang Wei thought. For all the money in the universe, he would never believe this was a mere coincidence. This world rarely has coincidences, and when they do, someone usually takes advantage of them and makes it appear as if they didn’t.

’Since it’s not a coincidence, it must mean a target,’ Wang Wei analyzed. ’Do they have enmity? Xu Shi would never willingly hurt Lin Fan, meaning whoever Chaos Demon God is inside her body is either threatening her or they’ve made an agreement. I’m leaning more on the latter.’

Wang Wei’s mind deduced countless possibilities. ’Xu Shi’s Chaos Demon God convinced her that Lin Fan’s demon god was dangerous, and they made a deal to get rid of the threat. She really cannot escape the Dragon-Phoenix Fate.’

People — usually women — born with the Dragon-Phoenix Fate will spend most of their life supporting and uplifting their partners. Cultivators who practice Sovereign Dao love to have such an individual as their Empress Consort.

’I should talk to Xu Shi,’ Wang Wei thought. If his analysis is correct, she is most likely to reveal crucial information, and they can work together. However, Wang Wei decided to be careful in case the Chaos Demon God’s insider within her suddenly became hostile and attacked.

Now that he had a plan for the future, Wang Wei shifted his focus to the other people around. He ignored the large army in dark-gold armor and the other cultivators, focusing on the Primals participating in this expedition.

’None of the leaders from the demon race or the Innate Demon God Cave are present,’ Wang Wei sighed. ’Maitreya knows these two’s hatred must be resolved, and she’s letting them do it now.’ Wang Wei knew that one of those two Overlord factions would be destroyed by the time he returned, most likely the Innate Demon Gods.

’Dugu Baitian and the Glass Pen Sage were chosen, leaving only the Beast King to oversee things. Meanwhile, I’m the only one from our sect who is leaving,’ Wang Wei observed. He could already foresee the fate of the Grand Sect Alliance.

’Emperor Kong is also here, and Maitreya may be giving him the chance to kill Glass Pen and take back full control of the Literary Way Destiny.’ The pattern of the world after the expedition can be foreseen based on the people present — assuming everything survives.

’Wang Guo and Xiao Wenque are here. Their relationships recently soured to the point that everybody knows it. Whoever kills the other will eliminate a threat, but the overwhelming power that humans have in the union will be gone. That old fox Ye Guang will either use this opportunity to gain more power or leave to create his own power.

’Then, there is Taoism,’ Wang Wei thought. He could detect the worry in Absolute Beginning’s face. ’It seems he noticed. Well, the Saint wasn’t being subtle.’ All of the soldiers from the Tao Beginning Palace were people who supported Absolute Beginning, meaning that once they die in the expedition, he’ll lose most of his power.

Of the four Primals of the Tao Beginning Palace, Absolute Beginning was of the extreme faction. Venerable Spirit Treasure supported the younger generations, such as Zhen Biyu. Taoist Three Minds was neutral, and Daoist Heavenly Eye only recently became a Primal, making him the weakest. If Absolute Beginning dies or loses most of his power, there is no chance for him ever to regain control of Taoism.

’I’m surprised Maitreya brought her disciple to this trip,’ Wang Wei thought as he nodded to Monk Wuzhi and Feng Heng. ’Is she trying to send the message that even her disciple is participating in such a dangerous mission, so no one could complain? Unfortunately, as long as she’s alive, these disciples cannot experience true death unless a Tribunal Saint goes out of their way to eliminate them.

Wang Wei shook his head internally, deciding not to focus on this. As he observed around, he immediately became excited despite his outward facial expression not showing it. Old Man Black Chess, Water Immortal, Shen Tian, and Nature Wrath were all participating in this expedition.

’This is the chance I’ve been waiting for to annihilate the Divine Faith Haven and take control of the Limitless Exchange Hall.’ At first, Wang Wei only wanted to destroy these Gods because he feared Heavenly Dao would target the Origin Seal Continent due to their low foundation, so he wanted someone to sacrifice them instead.

However, the catastrophe was unlike anything he could have predicted, making his worries useless. Regardless, he still wanted to get rid of them because of the benefits and because they offended him by stealing his ideas without asking or providing any preparation or remuneration.

’No one from the Origin Seal Continent or the Skill Dao Association is here. I can understand the former since Hong’er is not here, and the twins have just become B-Class Primals, but what’s with the association? Is the Saint trying to preserve our world’s professional Dao?’

He was slightly worried because of the hostility between those two factions. Without his wife’s present, he wouldn’t be surprised if the association’s leader tried something against the Origin Seal Continent. As for the revenge from Wu Hong? As long as they do it secretly and leave no signs, there is nothing she can do.

’The sect should protect them, so I don’t need to worry too much,’ Wang Wei reassured himself. Plus, his wife might return before him. His gaze switched to two individuals with a natural sword aura.

’What is the Sword Path League planning?’ Wang Wei thought. Contrary to Wang Wei’s prediction, Maitreya did not summon all the primals from the league to die in this mission and pave the way for her friend — Yan Hai — to retake control of the Ultimate Sword Path Destiny. No, she summoned the Slaughter God, but for some reason, the Seven Strike Sword God also volunteered.

’Well, regardless of what they are planning, this is the perfect opportunity for Yan Hai to break her oath and retake her position as the owner of the Ultimate Sword Path.’

The situation will truly be complex beyond his wildest imagination, but Wang Wei could predict some things by observing and analyzing the people participating in this expedition. So, his sight moved to his old enemy: Ying Zheng. The Grand Preceptor and Bai Qi remained, but their sovereign was chosen for this mission.

’I wonder whether he brought the Jade Butterfly Pendant,’ Wang Wei pondered. ’Even if it’s broken, the essence of that artifact is probably high tier, meaning these powerful Saints would probably be interested. It’s in Ying Zheng’s best interest not to bring it, but the issue is that he has a high chance of dying if he doesn’t. A conundrum, indeed.’ If Wang Wei hadn’t controlled his facial expression, the schadenfreude would have been so obvious to everybody present.

’I can’t kill Ying Zheng now since I planned to refine him into a puppet after he is sanctified,’ Wang Wei thought. He will need all the help needed to protect the Prehistoric World from the Chaos Demon Gods, so, instead of killing the bastard, Wang Wei decided to find another way for him to contribute.

’I can’t injure his [Existence] since the reward for surviving this expedition will be more than enough to buy the best pill in the exchange list. In that case, he needs to be sealed until I have sanctified.’ Just like that, he decided the fate of this man who dared to try to use his wife as his stepping stone.

The last person of interest was the Sea Race Primal. Of the four Primal Lineages, he’s the only one who showed up. ’I wonder whether Maitreya recruited him, or did he sign up. Probably the former.’ Humans are still the rulers of this world, so if Maitreya had to choose someone among the four Primal Lineages, it would either be the Barbarian Race or the Sea. However, given that the former resembled humans and had a long-established history of collaboration, it’s understandable that she would choose the Sea Race.

Wang Wei’s body suddenly turned to look in one direction; his movement was so natural, as if it were an instinct. He wasn’t the only one. Everybody present instinctively turned their attention to the Saint as she became the center of this room – no, of Heaven and Earth. There was no aura, no signs of arrival — just her presence naturally influenced her surroundings.

"A few words," Maitreya said in her calm, gentle, and reassuring voice. "You are about to meet some of the most powerful cultivators in the Chaos Universe." She paused to give her words a sense of gravitas.

"Do not speak their names in vain. Do not look at them for too long. Do not try to communicate through divine sense in their presence. Do not show any hostility. Speak only when spoken to. Follow these rules, and I will do my best to protect you if someone tries to cause unnecessary trouble. Understand?"

"Yes, Saint," the crowd replied in unison.
