Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1711: Timeline NP89076H

Chapter 1711: Timeline NP89076H

"Hmm? What exactly are you planning?" Maitreya suddenly asked.

"Why are you asking?"

"I just received orders to secretly implant the highest form of protection inside Kong's body."

"Is that so? Well, don't worry about it," Wang Wei replied. The fewer people who know about this, the better. "Just do your best in this expedition, and the reward will leave you smiling." Maitreya glanced at him but did not ask any further questions.

After reaching an agreement, the Tribunal and Cardinal Saints — led by the Trinity Venerable — worked together to refine 13 array cores. Wang Wei tried to remember the process and maybe learn something. Unfortunately, he was genuinely baffled. He could barely remember half of what these people did. Knowing he was out of his depths, he stopped himself before suffering some kind of backlash.

Once the cores were successfully manufactured, the Saints summoned Wang Wei again and handed the distribution rights to him along with a token that allowed him to communicate with any of the Saints. The next step was a meeting between all the Saints and Wang Wei. With the higher beings vouching for him, no one questioned his status as the commander — at least, publicly.

During the meeting, Maitreya introduced everyone to him, allowing Wang Wei to form a sense of these people's strengths, abilities, personalities, and even weaknesses. The Primordial Chaos Saints were unaware of the plan; as such, their deployment was left to Wang Wei's judgment. After the meeting, he asked the second-step Saints whether the first-step Saints should also sign a contract not to do anything that would affect the plan, but they said it was unnecessary. They believed that as long as they were here, none of these people would do something so stupid. Wang Wei did not share the same belief, but upon seeing these people's confidence or arrogance, he did not pursue this topic.

'The next step is these troops,' Wang Wei thought as he looked at the endless number of soldiers. With just one glance, he could read these people's emotions: why was he chosen to be their leader? What ability did this pretty boy have? What kind of connection does he have? They would never be convinced by someone who used nepotism to acquire such power.

'Having no faith in me is one thing, but there is no way this ragtag crew can be called an effective army,' Wang Wei thought. The number of Primals participating in this expedition was in the hundreds, and the number of soldiers was incalculable. However, Wang Wei did not expect these people.

With so many people from different worlds, with different cultures, beliefs, strengths, and military experience, it would be a miracle if they could prove effective against a well-trained army such as the Infinite Divine Court's. Luckily for them, Wang Wei had thought of this before this expedition.

"I will not be commanding waste in my army, so it's time to trim the fat," Wang Wei declared arrogantly as he stood before this army. His words elicited a strong reaction, but no one dared to show it; the disdain in their eyes was almost tangible. Unfortunately for them, they could not remain as such for long. A terrifying pressure descended on all the troops, immediately suppressing them.

"Anyone who cannot withstand my pressure for three days will be eliminated," Wang Wei declared. "I will also choose 108 generals, each leading a legion. The selection will be based on your performance." After uttering these words, Wang Wei crossed his arms behind his back and waited. Less than a minute after this test started, a few soldiers fainted, and with a white light enveloping their bodies, they were teleported away from this location.

Time passed, and more and more people fainted and were eliminated. Meanwhile, the Primals who stood at the front of this army were terrified and humiliated. In cultivation, the higher the cultivation level, the less effective the group tactic becomes. However, no matter how much that is true, Wang Wei — as a Primal — should not be able to suppress hundreds of them alone.

And they were correct. Wang Wei could use this method for two reasons: Saint Dao Heart and Time Skipping Orb. By combining the two, he can create a perfect willpower and mentality test for all these people. So after the three days passed, only the elite members remained, and Wang Wei had an idea who among the Primals could be granted a position of authority. However, this was not enough.

"Release your military aura," Wang Wei ordered. No one dared question these words this time or show any disdain. One Primal suppressing trillions of cultivators — including hundreds of his peers — was unheard of. Furthermore, despite passing the test, the terrifying aura still hung over them.

'As expected,' Wang Wei thought. With so many people from different regions releasing different military aura, it would be a miracle if they could synchronize and fuse into one. Luckily for them, he was prepared. He pushed his [Aura Suppression] to an even higher level, using its power to force their military aura to conform and work together to defeat him. Under such extreme pressure, it only took a few days before this ragtag group of people could officially be called a "military."

However, Wang Wei was still not satisfied. Time was running out, and he needed them to have even more fighting prowess before the expedition. So, he enlisted a few Primordial Chaos Saints to create a training world to put these soldiers through quick training and military drills. Because the remaining soldiers had such high willpower, Wang Wei was able to push them beyond their limits in just a short period, finally turning them into a decent ensemble.

"Ready?" the Time Cardinal asked.

"Ready," Wang Wei nodded.

The Time Cardinal raised his hand to summon the River of Time, then, with a flicker of his finger, a section of the river condensed into a green gate. With a snap of his finger, Wang Wei and the troops turned into lights that rushed into the gate. The Saints followed them, leaving the Cardinals last to enter. As soon as they entered, Fate and Primordial Cardinal appeared with Grand Dao's token to isolate and prevent any form of entry into Timeline NP89076H.

Wang Wei opened his eyes to look around. His first instinct was that something was wrong with this world. However, no matter how he thought or checked, he could not tell what it was. 'It's probably because I'm used to places ruled by Grand Dao, but this one should have the Highest Sovereign's mark,' he analyzed.

"This world doesn't have the Critical Hit Path," Maitreya — who had become Wang Wei's Second-in-Command — said.

"That should be expected," Wang Wei nodded. The Critical Hit Path is Grand Dao's method of providing an advantage for the Primordial Timeline. Anyone who tries to put their paw in it would suffer her wrath.

"More importantly, the Grand Constructs seem to have owners."

"Owners? The Cardinals? No, maybe the Infinite Divine Court's version."

"Probably," Maitreya nodded.

"This is not good news for us," Wang Wei uttered. Without access to the Grand Constructs, all the Primals are reduced to C-Class.

"Tribunal Lords, how many second steps have you detected?" Wang Wei asked.

"Five," the Slaughter Ancestor responded.

"It's six," Karma Root Monarch added.

"Six?" Everybody looked at her.

"There is a hidden one," she explained. As soon as she landed, she formed a karmic bond with all sentient and non-sentient life forms in this timeline, and of all of them, six posed a threat to her existence. Although the last one tried to hide, she still caught them. The Tribunal Lords frowned before using their own methods to detect the sixth individual.

"You're right," True Dream Lord said. There was a hidden sixth Tribunal Saint, and if not for her reminder, they would not have detected it.

"What about the number of Primordial Saints?" Wang Wei asked.

"We have about 30% more than they have," Karma Root Monarch reported, making everybody quiet. Such an advantage should be celebrated, but given the fact that they recruited most of the Saints in their timeline, this realm is nothing but one of the many timelines the Infinite Divine Court controls; it's truly terrifying how strong they are.

'I understand why Grand Dao released the Chaos Demon Gods around this time,' Wang Wei thought. The more than 3000 Chaos Demon Gods represent countless Primordial Saints, dozens of Tribunal Saints, and maybe one or two Grand Dao Saints. The upcoming Transcendent Age is the key to the rise of the Primordial Timeline.

'In that case, I reckon Grand Dao might allow the revival of a few Genesis Age Creatures, and maybe even recruit people from other timelines,' Wang Wei analyzed. No matter how powerful timelines are, they will not change the fact that only the main one can a cultivator achieve True Transcendence. Furthermore, Wang Wei believed that in terms of resources, this timeline will also have the advantage — only, Grand Dao will probably have tight control over it to ensure these Saints follow a transcendent path that is rewarding to the Chaos Universe, unlike the Primeval Body Mansion's Founder.
