Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1734: Two Factions

Chapter 1734: Two Factions

"Information is power, the ancient sages did not lie," Wang Wei thought with a smile. Wang Guo believes he has the advantage, but he doesn’t even know who he is competing with. Wang Wei has already prepared to condense his second Transcendent Foundation before leaving the expedition, meaning he only has to worry about the third one by the time he returns. So, if nothing unexpected occurs, he’ll win this bet.

’The unification of the Wang Clan should perfect our destiny, providing the foundation to be a Saint Clan similar to the Ji and Bi Clan,’ Wang Wei analyzed. There is a reason that most factions resisted unification, but some things are simply inevitable.

’On another note: this conversation reminded me of something I have overlooked,’ Wang Wei thought. ’Who was Supreme Unity’s puppet master?’ If Wang Guo was telling the truth, it meant that something was using Supreme Unity to delay or prevent the arrival of the new Transcendent Age.

’For someone to achieve such a feat, they must be a group of Tribunal Lords or a Grand Dao Saint,’ Wang Wei analyzed. ’Supreme Unity has always been an odd individual, with very little information known about him. Such behavior indicated he was acting low-key, meaning that these people might have been planning his rise for a long time."

Wang Wei groaned. With Grand Dao releasing the reign and allowing more information about Saint to be released, a new sense of hope has been instilled in all Immortal Cultivators. However, for intelligent people, they are forced to re-analyze everything they’ve known from a macro–perspective. Events that previously seemed simple now contained hidden layers of meaning and implications.

’Maitreya really shouldn’t have released Supreme Unity,’ Wang Wei sighed. Maybe because the latter may have left some psychological trauma, Wang Wei really did not want that man free. ’Hopefully, Supreme Unity is no longer a valuable pawn, and he’s been discarded.’ The fact that no one came to rescue him was good news for the Eternal Ascension World.

Wang Wei did not dwell on this issue too much; after all, there was nothing he could do so far away. He shifted his attention to other plans he had for this expedition. He snapped his finger and waited a few minutes. Then, a woman clad in all black slowly ascended from his shadow.

"Xie Matriarch," Wang Wei nodded. For this mission, he did not bring Red Mask but brought the old Xie Matriarch, who used to serve him, in exchange for an opportunity to become a Paragon. Now that she had succeeded and wanted to reach a higher level, she was more than happy to take on this mission.

"Ancestor."

"Call me Sect Master," Wang Wei waved. "The word ancestor makes me feel old."

"As you wish."

"What’s Lin Fan and his wife been doing?" Wang Wei asked. He previously placed these two on the Scout Team, which was responsible for gathering information, primarily about the history of this timeline and how it differs from theirs.

"They are searching for traces about whether the Chaos Demon Gods exist in this timeline."

"And do they?"

"Yes," Matriarch Xie nodded. "Based on the information we have gathered from hundreds of Chaos Worlds, we have deduced that a terrible war occurred during the Chaos Demon Gods Age. However, this war resulted in the division of these demon gods into two factions."

"Wait, are you saying the war didn’t annihilate them? They didn’t disappear from the Chaos Universe as they did in our timeline?"

"They disappeared, but not from that war in their era," Matriarch Xie explained. "The division led to two factions: the Pangu Faction and the Hundunxi Faction. Their constant battle marked the subsequent ages. It is what allowed other races, including humans, to rise.

"Eventually, both of these leaders seemed to have died or, at the very least, disappeared after one massive battle. Rumors have it that there is a special dimension with the remains of these two, and I believe that is what Lin Fan is searching for."

"If there were such a place, the Infinite Divine Court would have taken it already," Wang Wei said. "Unless the two leaders were Grand Dao Saints, and the remnants of their will successfully isolate anyone from discovering it."

"Our information says there was a final battle between those two factions, but not a single Chaos Demon God returned from that confrontation," Matriarch Xie added. "More importantly, we haven’t found any records of the court’s taking it. Of course, we are still missing a lot of information — especially from those Chaos Worlds that were used as the court’s array."

Wang Wei suddenly felt uneasy: this Chaos Demon God Dimension might have fundamentally altered the course of this expedition. If there was such a place, what better key to activate it than another Chaos Demon God? What Wang Wei worries about more is the fact that this dimension may also be the catalyst for his [Time Nexus]. "Keep an eye on Lin Fan and Xu Shi, and keep gathering information."

"I understand." Matriarch Xie bowed, then disappeared into the shadows.

Initially, Wang Wei planned to contact Xu Shi to see if she could provide any information. But now he has decided to keep quiet and observe further developments. If these Chaos Demon Gods truly have animosity toward him for his connection to the Prehistoric World and Hongjun, they will eventually approach him.

’Everything seems calm and going according to plan, but that is just the surface. So, in this scenario, I must remain calm and be as low-key as possible,’ Wang Wei thought. With all these Primordial and Tribunal Saints — each capable of easily taking his life — he cannot be acting arrogantly and out of line. His defeat of Supreme Unity was because the latter was restrained, and killing Sovereign Dao Eyes was because of the circumstances. Wang Wei would not allow these prior experiences to affect his mood or state of mind; he would not make mistakes easily.

Infinite Divine Court, Light Source Realm:

Jiang Qing suddenly opened his eyes and muttered, "The call of Bloodline. Excellent. Ye’er, I won’t let you sacrifice yourself in vain." He waved his hands to send two summons. The first one immediately arrived as he condensed from one of the motes of light inside Jiang Qing’s Dao Quintessence.

"Lord, you summoned me," the Light Envoy knelt on one knee before Jiang Qing. He was a handsome man dressed in black robes, with golden hair, and a facial expression similar to the Highest Sovereign.

"Get up, and wait for Minister Chu to arrive."

A few minutes later, the Minister of War, Chu Shengfeng, teleported into this dimension, still wearing his dark-gold armor. Then, he bowed ninety degrees to the Highest Sovereign. Although he didn’t kneel like the Light Envoy, he showed the highest level of etiquette while preserving his dignity as a powerhouse.

"I keep telling you that there is no need for such formalities when we are in private," Jiang Qing sighed.

"Sir, etiquette is the only way to distinguish between superiors," Chu Shenfeng replied. If there is one thing he would complain about, it is the Highest Sovereign’s kindness and laidback attitudes. For other cultivators, this might not be a problem, but as a ruler, it’s easy to give subordinates the impression that their emperor is easy to talk to and easy to bully. So, as one of the court’s most respected officers, Chu Shenfeng felt it was his job to maintain the status and dignity of the Highest Sovereign.

"Whatever you say," Jiang Qing waved his hand. He was used to it after so many years. The position of a Sovereign is a lonely one, and with his people worshipping him like a god, he’s even more isolated. "Let’s get back to the topic. I’ve sensed the call of bloodline from Timeline NP89076H, meaning this might be our opportunity to penetrate Grand Dao’s defense."

"What are your instructions?" Chu Shenfeng asked.

"I need you to build a Bloodline Boosting Base in the [Void Between Worlds] to resonate with Jiang Ye’s bloodline."

"Grand Dao will never allow us to build such a thing peacefully."

"That’s why you need to mobilize at least 10 Ascendant Saints for this battle."

Chu Shenfeng grunted. The Infinite Divine Court had a total of 22 Ascendant Saints, but most had to be placed at strategic timelines to guard these areas and prevent anything from happening. Currently, there are fewer than five Ascendant Saints — including himself — still left in the court. Mobilizing these Saints while ensuring their areas have no issues is enough to give anyone a headache. Regardless, Chu Shenfeng still said, "It will be done."

"Good," Jiang Qing nodded before glancing at the Light Envoy. "I’m sorry, partner. For this plan to work, a sacrifice of my own bloodline must be made."

"Everything for you, the Highest Sovereign, and the court," the Light Envoy calmly stated without any hesitation. His existence is similar to that of the Cardinals and the Grand Dao, but more loyal. Under normal circumstances, only Grand Dao Saints can kill him, but since the emperor said he needed to be sacrificed, it meant true death. The Light Envoy was prepared.
