Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1771: True Ruin

Chapter 1771: True Ruin

Siwangji wanted to roll her eyes. "I don’t know why they are not interested in my sister, but I’m not too comfortable revealing myself."

"Even if it means regaining some of your strength?" Wang Wei asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Death Reverence — you can imagine what Dao he cultivates. I doubt he’s quite nutritious."

Siwangji stared at him: "First of all, I’m not the kind of person who absorbs others for power or any other benefits. Secondly, your method of goading me to kill your enemy is quite poor. I expect more from you."

"It seems you have a higher moral standard than most of your brothers and sisters," Wang Wei smiled.

"Isn’t it obvious? Although I’m the embodiment of death, more than anyone else, I know the value and preciousness of life."

"In that case, how about eliminating a villain?" Wang Wei continued. "Death Reverence is known for sacrificing countless lives for an unknown purpose. The current popular theory is that he is trying to create or summon something, but no one knows why.

"The reason I want you to deal with him is that this expedition has resulted in the death of countless people, meaning —"

"He has ample material for a grand sacrifice," Siwangji frowned.

"So far, he hasn’t done anything, but my gut feeling is this is just the calm before the storm."

"Have you considered reporting this?"

"And say what?" Wang Wei smiled wryly. "With no proof and my past actions of using my position for personal gains, they will probably think I’m doing the same again."

"Not to mention, in those people’s eyes, Death Reverence, no matter how much of a threat, will not surpass their power," Xu Shi added.

"Isn’t that true?" Siwangji asked. Xu Shi did not answer. Based on Wang Wei’s expression, she could tell he had this hidden worry that things might truly go out of control of the Tribunal Lords. The issue now is whether his concerns are valid, or merely the paranoia of a genius who does not like things beyond their control.

"I don’t know," Wang Wei sighed. "However, with each passing moment, the bad feeling I have about him is increasing." He was now 80% sure that his Time Nexus would be because of Death Reverence.

"Regardless, I can agree to observe, but taking action is out of the question," Siwangji replied firmly.

"If that secret realm is really something left by your people in this timeline, there might be opportunities for you to regain your strength. Won’t you reconsider then?"

"We will talk after I recover a portion of my strength."

"Fine," Wang Wei resigned himself. "Do me another favor: help me hide my causal relationship with Hongjun and Pangu." His mastery of Karma Dao has reached the pinnacle, but in front of these Saints, he was an open book.

"You really don’t like to lose any advantage, do you?"

"What are you talking about? We are friends, and friends do favors for each other. Why are you talking about advantages and disadvantages?"

"Whose your friend? We’ve only met today?" the Death Chaos Demon God said.

"And I instantly felt like we’ve known each other for eternity."

Siwangji stared at him. She knew humans could be shameless, but not in her wildest dreams would she imagined they could reach such a profound realm of shamelessness and thick skin. "Fine." She snapped her finger, and a strange fluctuation enveloped Wang Wei, who immediately felt a subtle sense of peace and quiet.

"Excellent," he smiled. "Go and await the good news."

"Hold on. Can you guarantee us a spot for the secret realm?"

"Xu Shi should know how I operate."

"He’s trustworthy," Xu Shi nodded. Why do many people in their generation never truly hate Wang Wei and even choose him as the priority for making allies? It’s because he never broke his word. As long as they themselves fulfill their side of the bargain, he will keep his word. And even if he fails, he’ll pay compensation. After so many years, he has built a reputation for keeping his word and always benefiting everyone. The largest piece of the cake will go to him, but his cakes are always the biggest, and everybody can get a share.

"Interesting. I thought someone as shameless as you would have a terrible reputation," Siwangji muttered. Wang Wei ignored her words. After the agreement, Xu Shi left, and Wang Wei immediately closed his eyes. He went above and beyond trying to record how this former Tribunal Saint would block his causality.

"Nothing at all," he sighed, a bit frustrated. Even with the power of the array recording the process, he didn’t see or detect anything — not even a slight fluctuation. His actions were akin to a two-dimensional drawing encountering a three-dimensional object for the first time, trying to understand its profoundness.

"Forget it. One day, I’ll get there anyway," he muttered. In front of these higher beings, his so-called mastery of causality is a bit of a joke. "On second thought, I was a bit reckless. What if she secretly left something inside my body?" Sweat instantly drenched his back. He immediately used the fully updated array to its full power to check every inch of his body [Existence]. After not finding anything, Wang Wei summoned Maitreya, who had just finished condensing her 12th pillar and nourishing her foundation, to help.

After handing over his control of the array, he asked her for help. Finally, he found the area in his [Existence] where the causality with Hongjun and Pangu had been hidden by a potent force. There was nothing hidden, and he finally felt relieved.

"Things have been going so smoothly lately that I let my greed slip," Wang Wei sighed. Cultivators cultivate their [True Self], and certain aspects of their self or nature are innately negative. For Wang Wei, it’s his greed. However, since he does not follow the cultivation path of absolute indifference or abandoning emotions, he must always be aware of his nature and keep it in control.

After reassuring himself, Wang Wei sent an avatar to check the spot where he had disappeared. As expected, he failed to discover anything. Wang Wei sent a few Saints on a mission, and the result was the same. Following the procedure, he wrote a report. He submitted it directly to the Karma Root Sovereign, whose turn it was among the Tribunal Lords to look into the situation while everyone else was healing or doing their own things.

"Are you sure this is something related to this timeline’s Chaos Demon God?" the Karma Sovereign asked.

"That is the preliminary analysis, but I don’t know for sure."

A hidden glint flashed deep in Karma Sovereign’s eyes after hearing these words. Why did they never concern themselves with Shenghuovi? Firstly, they feared that she had a desperate measure to regain her former strength and kill or severely injure them. More importantly, these Tribunal Lords were fishing. Things related to Chaos Demon Gods are the most obvious and direct ways for their level to gain benefit when traveling through the Infinite Trichiliocosm.

Although in most timelines, things related to the Chaos Demon Gods act similarly to Grand Dao, meaning they are illusory and provide no benefits, many of them do still exist. The others have long decided to wait and see. If this timeline were one of the unique ones, Shenghuovi will eventually be attracted to it, and they can begin their plunder. However, the Karma Sovereign did not expect that the one who took the bait was a little Paragon.

"I’ll go check it out immediately." Karma Root Sovereign blended with the void, and with one step, she reached the destination. After a short observation, she noticed an entrance to an unknown realm.

’No wonder we couldn’t find anything,’ she thought. They had scanned the entire world, and the Infinite Divine Court must have done the same. However, this place was never discovered. The reason was simple: two Grand Dao Saints used their powers to hide this place. However, after a destined individual opened the entrance, the methods these third-step powerhouses left were drastically weakened.

Karma Root Sovereign did not stay long. She understood that her strength alone was not enough to open this portal. So, without alarming anybody, she returned to the base and summoned everybody.

"Did the woman finally heal?" the Slaughter Ancestor asked. His injury had almost fully recovered after so long, but he was still not back at his peak. Such a summons made him feel that the worst-case scenario had happened. And he was not the only one. The others looked at Karma Root Sovereign, wondering why she called for the highest-level meeting.

"A ruin from Chaos Demon Gods appeared."

"A true or illusory one?" Illusory ruins only showed the history of the race in that timeline with no benefit whatsoever — except for historians or people such as the Erudite Duchess who can gain strength from knowledge.

"What do you think?"

Everybody’s eyes lit up: this was an opportunity for resources and maybe even a peek at higher levels. The only people who remained calm are the Cardinals. After all, no matter what’s on the ruin, it will not benefit them. Their strength cannot increase unless the Grand Dao decides to bless them. As such, they do not need resources or other benefits.
