Chapter 1804: Cauldron
"To mirror a Saint, the person must be someone with immense karma with you, and it’s almost impossible to do it behind their backs," Dongfang explained.
"Does the Saint have to be present for me to mirror them?" Wang Wei asked.
"No, but the further the distance, the more intense the karma must be."
"That makes sense," Wang Wei nodded. With his relationship with Maitreya, this shouldn’t be an issue.
"For how long will I have the strength of a Saint?" he continued.
"That depends on the individual," Dongfang explained. "The shortest time is one minute, but for someone such as you with a great foundation, powerful body, and who’s quite accomplished in the Way of the Soul, you could probably last for as long as 10 minutes."
"Ten minutes is enough to do many things. Plus, once I’ve created the Soul Apertures, I should be able to increase my time," Wang Wei thought.
"Any side effects?"
"Besides a brief period of weakness, nothing," Dongfang shook her head.
"How brief are we talking about?" Wang Wei did not like the vagueness of that answer.
"I can’t give you a direct answer since I’ve only had to use this ability once," Dongfang explained. "I was still a mortal, and the Primordial Holy Land sent a bunch of trained Death Men with the strength of the First Gate to kill me in a special secret realm. After using its power to slaughter everybody, I was about to pass out into a coma, but after taking a pill, I was only weakened for three hundred years."
"I see," Wang Wei nodded. He reckoned Dongfang’s lineage went above and beyond to protect her after that incident.
"So, do we have a deal?"
"I have one more question, and if you answer correctly, I’ll be more than happy to accept this deal."
"Oh?" Dongfang perked up.
"Why choose me?" Wang Wei asked. "I don’t believe I’m the only choice you have. So, why choose me — the outsider?"
Dongfang’s body shifted slightly. As someone who can read physical signs, Wang Wei knew this question made her uncomfortable for some reason.
"You underestimate your value," Dongfang said. "While there are many people who have condensed a Saint Will Prototype, no [Immortals] have successfully condensed a Supreme Saint Will — even if it’s not complete. Then, there is what I want the most: your Dao Heart.
"The people who have successfully condensed a Dao Heart can be counted on one hand, but all of them are now in retreat, trying to sanctify. I’ve tried talking with them, but none of them were interested in my ability."
"You’re not telling the complete truth," Wang Wei directly said. Was no one interested? He wouldn’t believe such words. Her mirror ability allows others to experience the sanctification process in advance; no cultivator could resist such temptation.
Dongfang was silent. The meeting took place in a private room, with the two sitting facing each other with a table with drinks separating them. She reached out to take a sip of her tea. The people in this world did not have the habit of drinking tea; they preferred strong wine, juices, or tasty milk from powerful creatures. However, after the arrival of the Primordial Beings, tea became widely popular; even upper echelons who refused to conform and used the Primordial Beings’ clothes still enjoyed tea.
The power of the tea calmed her mind and soothed her spirit. Glancing at Wang Wei, she gritted her teeth: "These bastards only see me as a Cauldron."
A slight surprise flashed in Wang Wei’s eyes. The concept of a Cultivation Cauldron was not foreign to him. Across the cultivation world, there is a process in which a cultivator takes a woman or man with a special physique, raises them to a certain level, and through intercourse, absorbs their Primordial Yin and Yang, Life Force, and Cultivation to break into the higher realms. In this process, the woman is the "cauldron," and raising her to be harvested later is like taking a "pill" after it’s refined. Unfortunately, the fate of cauldrons is never a good thing — unless a supreme Yin-Yang Duel Cultivation is used.
In the early days of his cultivation, when it appeared that Li Jun would not be able to keep up with him, Wang Wei considered founding a cauldron to raise his talent. In his wildest dream, he would have never thought Dongfang suffered such a fate. After all, she was the Holy Seed of such a powerful faction.
"Why do you think my strength is so weak?" Dongfang asked with gritted teeth. "With my ability, as long as I’m provided with the right person to mirror, what can I not accomplish? But all these bastards blocked my way because they want to use me as their cauldron for their descendants. Some even want to raise me to the Saint Realm and see if I can be used as a higher-level cauldron."
Bang!
The teacup in Dongfang’s hands crushed into non-existence; the power she exuded even left a deep scar on the table, but she didn’t seem to care. Wang Wei casually waved his hand to return things to normal.
"Everyone sees me as a fat piece of meat. Even my family wants to sell me to the highest bidder," Dongfang sneered. "The only way to escape my fate is to become the Holy Daughter and contribute to the sect by defeating this generation’s Holy Son of the Primordial Holy Land."
"Interesting," Wang Wei smiled. "So, your action is an act of rebellion?"
"That’s right. Instead of benefiting these bastards, I’ll rather hand my powers to you."
Wang Wei frowned, "I don’t have to sleep with you to get this power, right?"
"Of course not," Dongfang immediately replied. "But what’s with that look?"
"I’m a happily married man."
"I’m not interested in you," Dongfang snapped.
Wang Wei scoffed before declaring narcissistically, "Every woman is interested in me, but it’s good this deal can proceed without any nonsense."
Dongfang was speechless; the way this man changes his face like a mask truly makes him unpredictable. "Whatever."
Wang Wei glanced at her. He was 90% sure she was telling the truth. The 10% doubt stems from how terrifying the Saints are, as they can probably influence his judgment. However, 90% was enough for him to take the risk.
"We should probably hurry up in case your Dao Protector stormed into my residence," Wang Wei commented. Although he didn’t sense anything, he could guess that whoever was in charge of guarding or warding Dongfang was probably waiting outside anxiously. After all, nothing can happen to such a valuable product. Maybe, the latter had even tried to break through, but someone else stopped him — someone who prioritized ending their founder’s obsession over the value of the cultivation cauldron.
"You’re right," Dongfang exhaled. Without hesitation, she used her blood essence to create the Blood Oath. The terms were simple and direct, but they also didn’t give Wang Wei any opportunity to cheat her; she wasn’t the brainless Chenli. Wang Wei did not even try to add any clauses. After reviewing the document and ensuring there were no traps, he used his blood essence to sign the oath.
Dongfang handed him two glass seeds the size of a tennis ball that resembled mirrors molded into spherical shapes. At first sight, they looked identical, but upon closer inspection, he noticed the one on his left contained a golden lotus with thirteen petals.
"The left one is for you," Dongfang explained. "Inject your experience establishing the Dao Heart and condensing the Supreme Dao Will on the one in the right."
Wang Wei held the things in his hands. Preliminary analysis showed there was nothing wrong with them, but Wang Wei remained vigilant. He tested for many things, including a causal link. After all, it’s his experience being injected into this thing. What if someone used it against him?
"Here you go," Wang Wei said as he handed her her part. All his tests reveal nothing wrong. While this was far from a guarantee, in the current situation, high risk is expected. Otherwise, he’ll be paralyzed by fear and paranoia, rendering him utterly useless.
Unlike Wang Wei, who had countless reservations, Dongfang instantly absorbed the Mirror Dao Seed into her body, ensuring that even a Saint could not immediately remove it from her. And immediately afterward, a talisman materialized in her hands.
"Could you please remove the void blockage of your residence?"
Wang Wei glanced at her before nodding. A white light enveloped Dongfang, and she disappeared. By now, she was back at her residence, where she had some power over her life. Her next destination is likely her seclusion room, where she uses the seed to reach higher realms.
"If you have something to say, do it," Wang Wei uttered.
"Sir, you’ve just established yourself as a neutral party, but in the next second, you had a private meeting with someone of the New Lineage. Hasn’t all your effort been in vain?"
"That’s your concern in this situation?"
"What else should it be?"
