Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1805: True Soul Apertures

Chapter 1805: True Soul Apertures

"You’re more interested with each passing day," Wang Wei commented. What happened to Dongfang involved the shady dealings of the Holy Land, but this servant acted as if it was not important; his only priority seemed to be Wang Wei’s well-being and benefit.

"Sir, what do you want me to do?"

"Release news to the other faction about this deal. Tell them I’m also open to making a deal with them as long as they offer something substantial."

Fangjin pondered briefly. "That should temporarily deal with the issue."

"I only need temporary peace. After all, I’ll leave in a while." Wang Wei secretly observed his reaction as he said these words, but he detected no change; this cunning old fox was harder to deal with the lower dimension Heavenly Dao.

"Should I release the news privately or publicly?"

"Do what you think is best."

"Publicly, it is," Fangjin nodded. "Doing things above board will reduce these people’s suspicions."

Wang Wei waved for him to leave and get to it. Once he was alone, he activated the Heaven Deception Array in the room before analyzing the Mirror Dao Seed. He raised his hand to manifest something: a small golden dragon with a small portion of its body being transparent. Placing the dragon next to the seed, Wang Wei cast a divination.

"I was right," Wang Wei muttered to himself. "The primary reason Dongfang gave me this seed is a manifestation of my destiny. Something will happen during or after the war, and I’ll need the strength of a Saint to escape."

Such a divination result is bad news for him as it insinuates that there is a high chance the Heaven-Splitting Holy Land might not allow him to escape. Or at the very least, some people in the sect will break the promise Mengyunjun made to him. Lin Fan has Hundunxi to help him escape, and his destiny worked its magic to use Dongfang to provide him with his escape route.

"There is another possibility," Wang Wei thought. He remembered the summons from the Expedition Tribunal Lords. He had his suspicions about what these people were planning to do based on the fact that they chose to assemble in the territory of the Primordial Chaos Holy Land. However, he wasn’t too sure about that theory until now; the chances of him being correct had increased by a few percent.

"If my theory is correct, then I should be planning on how to benefit instead of just escaping," Wang Wei thought with shining eyes. If the chaos arrived as he expected, then he could have a feast. "In that case, I need to be bolder and plan ahead." As long as these people need him, they won’t turn on him even if they discover his little trick. However, Wang Wei needs to watch out since the enemy knows he has the Mirror Dao Seed.

Wang Wei waved his hand to summon his Karma Chessboard. He reached out for Kong’s piece and borrowed his destiny to test the danger of the Mirror Dao Seed. One could never be too careful when dealing with a Saint. Although Wang Wei knew his destiny was unique (his luck can still turn black — an ability only he has), it may not be impossible for it to be manipulated by a Saint.

Kong, on the other hand, received his destiny directly from Grand Dao — a third-step powerhouse. The chances of a Saint capable of manipulating it are incredibly low, and even if they could, they must pay a terrible price. If someone were willing to go to such lengths to scheme against him, Wang Wei would admit his defeat.

"No problem," he smiled. With a thought, he absorbed the seed into his Sea of Consciousness and started the process of mirroring. His karmic bond with Maitreya was deep. Whether it was the fact that her escaped avatar was his grandmother, or all the things they’ve experienced from the Supreme Unity Rebellion to the Infinite Divine Court Invasion, and even the Expedition, it was relatively easy for Wang Wei to mirror her.

During the process, he tried to learn the seed’s hidden powers or rules, but he failed. Wang Wei did not give up; instead, he recorded everything for later use. The ability to mirror an opponent is terrifying at the Saint level.

The [Immortal Stage] of cultivation has reached its limit. As a result, pinnacle geniuses have a terrifying foundation, which they can use to copy, imitate, and steal other people’s ideas, techniques or arts. But at the Saint level, this is no longer possible. Saint Technique or Arts are unique to the individual because each sanctification process is unique. They may contain hidden rules that are not easy to comprehend, and sometimes only a few people can detect them.

Due to this fact, specialization becomes key in the Quintessence Realm. All-purpose geniuses such as Wang Wei and Wu Hong have no choice but to specialize; they can no longer learn and master everything. Such a situation also means that professions are even more treasured in that realm.

The ability to copy Saint Arts will become valuable beyond words can describe. Wang Wei would even be satisfied with a method that can only copy 10% of someone else’s methods. For example, if he could mirror 10% of the Highest Sovereign’s method of forging a Divine Timeline, it would be more than enough to deduce the rest.

Wang Wei hid the seed in a secluded place of his Sea of Consciousness, composed of billions of Heaven Deception Array. Signs of his paranoia had already appeared. During his time cultivating his Saint Will, he also tasked some of his spiritual particles to keep creating more arrays. By now, most of the arrays couldn’t resonate with each other, rendering the number useless, but he didn’t stop. Instead, he created countless array systems before linking them together; this approach barely allowed him to use the overwhelming amount of Heaven Deception Arrays.

Now freed of his worries about his escape, Wang Wei began cultivating with peace of mind. With all the knowledge he took from the library, it didn’t take him long to create the artificial Soul Apertures. However, as he feared, his technique only contained the form, not the essence. While his technique would allow someone to cultivate a [Paragon Soul], it’s impossible to enter the Soul Ancestor Realm — let alone condense the Soul Quintessence using the 4th Soul Aperture.

Without wasting time or hesitating, Wang Wei started studying the Soul Apertures of this world’s natives; he focused on the hidden potential of the apertures. By using the Gates as a comparison, Wang Wei soon created two ways to imbue his apertures with the endless potentials of all sentient beings: an array or a formation.

After much deliberation, he realized the array would take too long, so he chose the pill. Using this opportunity to absorb the essence of this world’s alchemy, Wang Wei slowly developed a pill. Of course, Wang Wei would never ingest any pills from this sect; he wouldn’t even use their materials to do so. His space ring contained many materials, but he didn’t even use those.

Instead, he wanted to test out something. The Grandmist Wheel was severely suppressed in this world, but it could still be used for cultivation. Wang Wei wanted to create the materials needed for the pill and bring them out to see how this world would react. Sadly, the results were quite disappointing. A tribulation similar to Creation Lifeform Tribulation manifested between Heaven and Earth, trying to test whether such material was worthy to exist in this world.

"Odd. Why is this world’s Heavenly Dao so well hidden?" Wang Wei asked himself. He tried to sense the presence of Heavenly Dao during the tribulation, but all his attempts were futile. He couldn’t suspect there was something wrong with this world’s Heavenly Dao, ignoring the fact that Pangu and Hundunxi might have designed the world as such to prevent people from dealing with Heavenly Dao, and also to limit its interference in the world’s affairs.

"Let’s investigate later in case this is something that can become a variable," Wang Wei thought.

"Master?" Fangjin asked outside the alchemy room.

"No need to worry."

"As you wish."

The chances of someone tampering with these Creation Resources were astronomically low. And with the tribulation further purifying it from any other hidden methods, Wang Wei felt reassured using them for his cultivation. He summoned a bottle with three unique pills, each for one of the apertures. He immediately swallowed the one for the Absolute Yin Soul Aperture and refined it.

"It worked," Wang Wei thought as he felt a unique aura on his aperture similar to his Gate of Ascension. He immediately finished the other two pills before rushing to the soul tower to cultivate. Now that he had the apertures, all he needed was a higher energy to break his limits and enter the Soul Ancestor Realm. Once that’s done, the Soul Saint Will should come naturally, and the path of condensing the Four Saint Will will be three-fourths done.
