Chapter 2030: One Against Hundreds

Chapter 2030: One Against Hundreds

The beastman had a look of dread on his face after crawling out of the crater, he could not believe that he was almost killed by someone that was on a lower cultivation stage than himself. In his hundreds of years of living, this was the first time something like this was happening.

The gray-haired beastman looked at the condition of the beastman, realizing there was no way he could continue fighting, his expression turned solemn.

"Void, can you talk to them?" Grey asked.

Void nodded.

"Alright, this should be easier then..."

Grey went on to tell Void to help him tell the beastpeople of how he did not want to continue fighting and was willing to compensate them with something else. Although what he wanted to use as compensation might not be on the same level as what he took, it should at least be of some help to them.

Void did as told, only to get an angry reaction from the beastpeople. These beastpeople felt Grey was looking down on them, thinking he could take their sacred treasure and give them something else.

Seeing their reaction, Grey was not really surprised. To be honest, it was within his expectations, after all, he took something that these beastpeople valued highly. The only way they would easily let him take it was that he killed them.

"I don’t want to kill them, there’s no enmity between us, but I need it. If they can’t let it go, I’ll stop holding back." Grey said.

Void naturally communicated this to the beastpeople.

This, on the other hand, made the beastpeople even angrier. Even though they were angry, they did not attack. It was not that they did not want to attack. Rather, they were weighing their options. One has to know that even before the incapacitation of one of their top fighters, they were unable to do anything to Grey. Now that he not only had Void with him, but also had less to worry about, he was bound to show greater strength.

The gray-haired beastman looked at Void, then at Grey. Just as he was about to speak, he noticed multiple auras approaching them.

These auras belonged to his fellow clansmen who were in the room with them when Grey stole their sacred treasure.

He initially planned to try to negotiate a peaceful way to deal with this. However, with the arrival of his fellow clansmen, he had a change of heart.

"I want to see how you can defeat hundreds of us." The white-clothed beastman was the one who responded, spreading his hand wide as beastpeople appeared one after the other.

The cultivation of these beastpeople varied. A few were in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane, while the others were in the Seventh stage and above.

Grey took a glance at the crowd before him. Any other Elementalist would panic against so many opponents. Grey, on the other hand, thrived the more his opponents were, especially when most of them were weaker than he was.

This was something Grey knew, same as Void, but these beastpeople did not know about it. A crowd numbering in the hundreds was bound to scare anyone.

The gray-haired beastman expression changed when he realized that Grey did not show any form of fear, rather, he was exceptionally calm. The feeling of something being wrong soon came to mind.

He was about to speak, when the white-clothed beastman told the others to attack.

Grey stared at the approaching crowd almost condescendingly. His figure vanished, and when he reappeared, he was in the middle of the approaching crowd. None of them expected Grey to actually rush at them. Before they could react, a powerful gust of wind spread out with Grey in the center.

The Sixth stage Sovereign beastpeople who were at the end of the crowd were the first to be sent flying. Those in the Seventh stage and above were able to stop themselves from being sent flying, however, they were unable to do anything else.

Grey took advantage of this opportunity, striking one opponent after another to the ground. None of them even had the chance to even block. In a matter of seconds, twenty beastpeople had been sent flying. Among them were a few Eighth stage Sovereigns.

"Retreat!" The gray-haired beastman yelled, trying to get the others away from Grey.

Grey, who should’ve been overwhelmed by the numbers, was actually doing better. He even seemed like someone who was taking a casual stroll given how he was dispatching the beastpeople.

The white-clothed beastman’s expression was dark as he watched Grey weave through the crowd with ease. He had thought they would be able to use the numbers to wear Grey down before they stepped him. He never thought that Grey would take them down with so much ease. Even someone of his cultivation level would never dare to say he could deal with so many Sovereigns on his own, yet he was watching someone with a lower cultivation level achieve this with so much ease.

’What sort of being is he?’ This was the only question in his head.

Not just the white-clothed beastman, the others felt the same way. If the strange cat was helping this strange boy, they would still accept this outcome, however, the strange cat had not made a move.

With Grey cutting down one after another of their clansmen, the beastpeople who charged at him were starting to feel fear. As fear started to grip them, their resistance became weaker and weaker.

Realizing that the entire group might be taken down by the strange boy, the gray-haired beastman made a move. His figure, covered in lightning, shot straight at Grey.

Grey, who was having an easy time, suddenly tensed up. Sensing the approaching danger, he did not dare to slack, retreating as fast as possible. He did not want to clash with the gray-haired beastman in the middle of the other beastpeople. Their clash might kill some of them, something he did not want.
