Chapter 3866: Next Lessons
"It took so long," the Artifact God said as she sat next to the many spools of yellow thread she had formed. She was very much fascinated by her own task and very much amused by the threads. She could only imagine what she could do with all of them.
"Are you done, senior?" Alex’s voice came.
She let out a deep sigh and looked up toward the sky. "Yes, I’m done. You can bring me out now."
Alex nodded and brought the Artifact God out of his Soul Space. She arrived inside his room, slightly taking Sunflare by surprise. The man hadn’t realized that the Artifact God had been in his Soul Space this entire time. Though, it wasn’t that big of a surprise considering all the people Alex had let into his Soul Space all this time.
Once out, the Artifact God looked at Alex with a raised eyebrow. "You broke through again," she said with no small amount of surprise. "How are you possibly breaking through so quickly?"
"Partly talent, partly luck," Alex explained. "Not only is my cultivation technique one of the best, I have already improved most of my physical body and spiritual sea, so all that needs refining is the Qi itself. That I can do in a couple of decades."
The Artifact God nodded slowly as she listened to his words. She glanced toward Sunflare for a moment before turning back to Alex.
"Let’s go to my workshop. We can continue the conversation there."
Alex thought it best as well.
He walked away with the Artifact God and made his way toward her courtyard. He could feel quite a few Divine senses landing on him as he walked, though none came out to stop him or talk to him.
Alex wondered if there was anyone new among those who were keeping an eye on him, but he had no way of telling that himself.
Upon arriving at the workshop, Sunflare stayed behind while Alex and Shen Yaojia entered, with the barrier forming behind them. Once they were fully concealed, they could freely have any conversation without worrying about someone finding out things they did not want them to.
She brought out nine spools of fully yellow thread, through which he could feel the overwhelming energy of Yang.
"I need to refine these threads," the Artifact God explained. "It probably won’t take me too long. Maybe a couple of months."
"It wasn’t possible inside my Soul Space?" Alex asked.
"I need to use my Qi," she explained. "You would’ve likely died."
Alex nodded in understanding. While he wasn’t sure if he would die or not, it wouldn’t have been a good time either way.
"Just a couple of months?" Alex asked after taking in her words.
"That’s only for the refinement. The actual problem will be how I weave these threads into large sheets with which I’ll make your robe," she explained. "I genuinely believe it is going to take me more than a few decades to do that. And I expect more."
Alex lowered his eyes slightly. "And I’m guessing none of that can be done in my Soul Space either," he said.
The Artifact God shook her head. "I won’t be using any Qi myself, but the sheet itself will be exuding a strong aura, which your mind will not be able to handle."
Alex understood that.
"In that case, you don’t need me right now, do you?" he asked.
"I do not. I only brought you here because I didn’t want to tell you all of this with Senior Sunflare around," she said. "Also, give me a bunch of Sunhearts. Both regular and the Decaying ones. I’ll be needing a lot of those during the refinement process."
Alex nodded and handed her enough so that the artifact could be made without any issues.
"Don’t worry, I’ll hand them back if I don’t end up using them all," the Artifact God said. "I care more about making artifacts than getting these things."
Alex didn’t say anything and only smiled.
"What should I do during this time?" Alex asked.
The Artifact God shrugged slightly. "Do whatever you want. I will put no restriction on you."
"Would it be possible for you to proceed with your lesson, perhaps?" Alex asked. "You said I was going to learn more about making artifacts next?"
The Artifact God nodded, though she held a strange expression. "I thought you were going to continue cultivating. Wasn’t that what you were so focused on?" she asked.
"I do need to continue cultivating, but I also need to work on the artifacts," Alex said as he let out a long sigh. "I need to work on my sword. The sword I currently have is great from a material perspective, but it isn’t my sword. Only a part of the spirit inside it belongs to me, but that spirit doesn’t belong to the physical body. I need to fix that. I need to reforge the sword, and for that, I need to take every lesson from you."
Shen Yaojia narrowed her eyes. "Do you wish to reforge the sword before your fight with the Fire God? Will that even help at all?"
Alex lifted his hands to gesture his lack of knowledge. "I don’t know what will help me. I just need to prepare the best I can in the limited time that I have," he said.
The Artifact God looked at him in silence for a long few seconds. Finally, she shook her head.
"Then you do not need my lesson right now," she said.
Alex was slightly taken aback. "Why?"
"Because I’ve already tested your ability to make swords, remember? You are more than good enough to forge the sword itself. Making artifacts takes a very different set of understanding than making weapons. Smithing is difficult in its own way, but you are fully capable of it. So, for the sake of speeding things along, we can skip over that process for now and move on to the next lessons directly."
