Chapter 3865: Serious Cultivation
Alex remained silent for a long time, taking in the man’s request. After churning it through his mind more than necessary, he could only reach one single conclusion.
There was nothing malicious about this request at all.
"Just to confirm, you want me to help you help everyone during the time of war by making pills for them?" he asked.
"Yes," Whitesong answered.
Alex nodded, taking in how quickly he answered. "I won’t lie, senior. I am fully against the war. Should a war happen, the most I am willing to do is help the others with healing pills or poison antidote pills. I will not make a single pill that will adversely harm the other side."
"That is fine with me. I don’t particularly care about helping with the war. I just wish to save as many of our own people as I can," the Alchemy God said.
Alex nodded. "May I ask your views on the war? Are you against it, or do you want it to happen?"
"I don’t think either way," the Alchemy God said. "It is just a precaution. Should the war happen, I want to be able to help our people. So I’m employing your help with that, despite whatever your intentions may be in the end."
Alex understood a little more of what the man meant.
"And what if the war doesn’t happen? What happens to this promise?"
The Alchemy God smiled. "Then I will have won anyway. For there could be nothing greater than no war."
Alex watched the man for a long few seconds, feeling as though he was seeing deeper into him now than ever. All he wanted to do was help the humans.
As far as Alex could see, there was no ulterior motive at all.
"Very well," Alex said. "I shall take you up on your offer, senior. Should the war happen, I shall be there aiding you in making pills."
Whitesong gave a genuine smile. "Thank you."
Alex left the Alchemy God’s courtyard after receiving a lot more ingredients than he had been hoping to get. With what he had collected now, combined with what he already had, he could easily cultivate for over 100 years, or whatever that translated into inside the cultivation platform.
Once he returned, Alex immediately told everyone what he was doing and how long he was going to be gone for. No one really minded him taking his time with his cultivation sessions. Everyone else was doing the same as well.
The only piece of bad news was that Alex was likely going to miss out on watching his father and Ronron’s parents break through to the Immortal realm, but given their body cultivation, he did not fear any mishap. He would wait for the good news afterward.
He warned the Artifact God about what he was going to do as well. She nodded in understanding and braced for it.
The fog and disorientation vanished a moment later, replacing the sight around her with the massive world that Alex had cultivated inside his Soul Space. She could see the World Tree to her right. To her left, something massive stood, casting a shadow upon her like a large tower that eclipsed the Nine Yang Divine Tree.
She looked around for a while, scanning the world with her eyes, before looking down at the many feathers she had to work with. She sighed, just imagining how long this was going to take. This would easily take multiple decades. She hoped she could do it within the next 5 years that would pass on the outside.
Without any further ado, she brought out a mechanical artifact and placed the first feather inside, ready to mash it and turn it into threads.
Alex closed his eyes as well and began cultivating. The formation worked around him, time slowing just for him so that a single minute outside was close to 19 minutes on the inside.
Alex understood this was going to change very soon as the formation continued to deteriorate. Even so, it was still incredible.
He focused on nothing but cultivation alone, giving time to his Origins only when he had to. There were times during his cultivation sessions when the Qi treasures would run out and need to be replaced. Those moments, when the treasures were barely starting to leak Qi again, were when he filled his two Origins.
The Heavenly Cloud was much further ahead than his Voidgate Origin, though both were high enough that at this point, it was better for Alex to focus on one before the other.
He focused on the Heavenly Cloud first, which was above 95% complete at this point. The last bit was still going to take him ages at the speed he was filling it, but it would be done nonetheless.
On his 18th year of cultivating, just about a year into his cultivation session, Alex received a wonderful message saying that his father had successfully become an Immortal. He could not wait to congratulate his father.
On the 21st year of cultivating, the older Alex became an Immortal as well.
On the 25th year of cultivating, Emily became an Immortal.
On the 32nd year of cultivating, Alex finally filled his Heavenly Cloud Origin, at which point he moved away from it and focused on the final Origin, the Voidgate.
Alex pushed his Voidgate Origin as well whenever he had the time, though he wasn’t able to complete it at all.
For on his 44th year of cultivating, Alex broke through to the Immortal Transcendent 8th realm, breaking through in less than 5 years of cultivation in real time.
The reason he succeeded in this way was mostly because of his insane focus on cultivation, the years he spent inside the formation, as well as the fact that he did not have much of his body left to refine, so the Qi could improve at a speedy rate.
Alex continued cultivating for several more years and proceeded toward his next breakthrough before having to stop on the 55th year.
The Artifact God was done with the threads.
