Chapter 3922: A Little Help
The announcement of Alex’s victory didn’t sit well with the Fire Sage.
"What are you talking about? If I get disqualified for using my Qi, then he should get disqualified as well," she shouted. "I wounded him multiple times while he failed to wound me in the slightest."
"Please calm down, senior," the referee quickly said as he realized he might have angered someone strong without meaning to. "It is simply the rule. You used your Qi before he—"
"It was practically at the same time," she said. "In fact, he teleported before my attack landed. Doesn’t that mean he used his technique first?"
"Wow!" Alex spoke with a wildly amused look. "What a sore loser you are, Fire Sage. You can’t even take a loss gracefully."
The woman’s eyes narrowed as anger boiled within her even more.
"Is there a problem here?" someone asked as they walked onto the arena.
Immediately, their aura expanded, strong enough to contend with the Fire Sage’s aura.
The Fire Sage looked to the side and saw the man coming over. "Who are you?" she asked.
"The spokesperson for this tournament and arena," the man explained. "I was chosen by the Seven Pillars to make certain no one abuses their authority inside the venue. If you feel wronged, you are free to take it up with us. We will reassess the matter and give you our final verdict."
The woman narrowed her eyes for a moment, judging the man before her.
"I’ve never seen you before."
"Then it is my genuine pleasure to meet the Fire Sage for the first time," the man answered. "Please feel free to let us know what we may help you with."
"Do you stand with this man’s verdict?" Blazelight asked.
"Considering what I’ve witnessed, yes. You broke the rules of the competition before this young man. Hence, he wins by default. It is true that he broke the rules as well, but it was at a point where the match itself had technically come to an end. Do you wish to contest that?" the man asked.
Blazelight took a moment to consider it all.
"Fine. I will take my loss and leave."
"See you later, Fire Sage," Alex said before the woman turned around. "I’ll see you in 13 years. We can have a go at it again at that time."
The woman scoffed before walking away.
The man watched her leave for a moment before turning toward Alex with a serious look.
"A junior like you should not be antagonizing someone as prestigious as the Fire Sage. Things can get quite dangerous for you," he said.
Alex smiled. "It’s already dangerous for me. That’s why I can freely antagonize her," he said. "Anyway, thank you for your aid there, senior."
"Of course. I’m happy to be of help, Sun God."
Alex blinked in surprise. "Have we met before?"
"We have not. But I have heard about you and know of your achievements. Your achievements in the Red Heaven Realm are quite well-known among our circles. I had thought them exaggerated at first, but seeing everything here today, maybe there isn’t that much exaggeration after all."
Alex didn’t know what to say.
"May I have your name, senior?"
"It’s Han Zhaofu," the man said. "My grandson was among the ones who fought you and lost."
Alex slowly nodded. "I see. Well, thank you for your aid again, senior. I appreciate your assistance."
"I’m merely doing what I am supposed to," the man said before looking toward the crowd, as if searching for someone.
Alex noticed it but said nothing.
The man turned back around.
"You should leave now. We need to get the other matches started."
"Right. I will take my leave, then," Alex said and bowed toward all the referees before walking down from the arena.
He arrived before a group of stunned audience members who belatedly cried out in cheers as he walked up the seats.
Many people congratulated him as he walked up the stairways and found his way back toward the hall where everyone waited.
As soon as he returned, more congratulations came his way.
There were many stunned faces, as no one had expected an Immortal to win the whole thing, but he had.
"Sword Heart!" the man in the green robe said with a sigh. "No wonder you are so strong. I can’t believe I was forced to fight against someone who has already formed his Sword Heart."
The others laughed a little, and the man did too.
Alex smiled and sat around, talking for a bit.
He was asked more questions, mostly about how he had managed to get as good as he was. Alex answered a few of the questions while trying to hold back on the others.
He had realized that his father hadn’t talked about where he lived or what he did, so for the sake of keeping his life simple, Alex didn’t say anything about the Gods either.
Alex watched the many battles between their conversations and realized just how wild everything was getting.
Each tournament was moving toward its final group, whose participants were more powerful than everyone else. Each fight now included people who were using their Creations, some even using their Divine Domains.
Alex was fascinated by the battles happening in the Weapons tournament, where people were openly fighting with their Weapon Domains, while some even used their Weapon Heart skills.
Alex wanted to see if any of them had Dao Weapons as well, but none in Group 39 did.
The battles slowly began coming to an end, and the first group to finish was Group 49.
Immediately, people who were in Group 50 stood and began making their way out.
Graham stood as well. "Are you guys going to stay here or go out as well?"
Graham was the last of the group remaining who hadn’t had to fight just yet, so everyone accepted that there was no point in them waiting around there at all.
After some thought, they all decided that they would leave.
So, together, they headed for the arena where Group 50 was going to fight.
