Chapter 2772: Divine Intervention

Corey stared at the black hole in a daze, trying to understand what could have caused it. Slowly, an unsettling thought crept into her mind. It might be the result of her detonating the super mortal star in the void to kill the young cosmic star butterfly.
The suspicion made sense. The hole had formed at the exact spot where she had returned from the void after triggering the super mortal star’s detonation. She didn’t know whether the black hole was the result of her super mortal star or the death of a cosmic entity. If she were to guess her money was on the death of the young cosmic star butterfly. It had to be the clash between its celestial force and her super mortal star’s energy that triggered this black hole.
Regardless of the reason behind its creation, for some reason the black hole had followed her into real space. If left unchecked, it would keep growing until, sooner or later, it swallowed the whole damn world, her included.
or
She could avoid it by slipping into the void using her void silk. But if she did that, there would be no world left for her to return to. And with her current prowess, she doubted she could survive in the void for long before the cold claimed her. In the end, it was simply a choice of how she wanted to die.
Or
She could try to find a demon, strike a deal, or force one to take her to the demon realm. After all, demons were known to abduct capable humans, especially knights, dragging them back to their native realm either to extract their chivalry or to sell them. She had no idea how she would fare there with her abilities, but even that sounded better than simply dying here.
There was a reason Corey was already preparing for the worst instead of trying to deal with the black hole growing before her with every passing second. She had realized something troubling. The black hole before was similar to light in many ways. She couldn’t use either of her chivalries on it. There was nothing she could Dice, and nothing she could Conjoin.
She knew she could deal with the black hole by targeting space-time itself but she also knew her limits. She could sense the matter and the immense energy within the black hole, but she simply wasn’t capable enough to affect it with her chivalries.
It was not that she didn’t know how to deal with the black hole. It’s just that she didn’t have that power. After all, she was still a mortal, and this black hole existed on a scale closer to cosmic and celestial beings.
However, just as Corey was about to leave in search of a demon, she suddenly felt a higher power descend upon her. In an instant, her existence forced to become one with the world itself, as if its pulse and breath flowed through her. She could feel herself drawing upon the celestial force of the world.
For a fleeting moment, it felt like divine intervention, as though God themselves had lent her power to deal with the black hole and save the world in their stead.
With the world’s celestial force now at her disposal, Corey sensed new possibilities opening before her. Without wasting any time, she decided to deal with the black hole before it grew into an even greater threat.
Closing her eyes for a brief moment, Corey called upon her first chivalry, Dice, choosing to rely on what she knew best. Compared to her second chivalry, Conjoin, she felt far more comfortable wielding Dice.
Unlike her usual use of Dice, where she sliced apart atoms or molecules, this time Corey aimed far deeper. With the celestial force the world’s will lent to her, her target was no longer matter alone. She was aiming at space itself.
Normally, a black hole couldn’t simply be cut. It wasn’t just a ball of matter sitting in space. The enormous mass inside it had warped space and time into a deep gravitational well, a region where everything was pulled inward and even light couldn’t escape.
But with the world’s celestial force flowing through her, Corey could sense that warped space like a knot tied into the fabric of reality. It was as if God Himself was guiding her in that moment, enlightening her step by step on how to deal with the black hole.
Instead of trying to destroy the mass trapped inside the black hole, she decided on something more practical. She would use Dice on the warped region of space-time that held the black hole together. If she could sever that twisted pocket of space from the rest of the world’s fabric, the mass-energy inside it would be cut off from reality itself.
In simple terms, she wasn’t trying to destroy the black hole. She was trying to cut it out of existence itself.
Her mental field spread outward until it brushed against the warped region surrounding the singularity, focusing on the space near the event horizon. As she sensed the growing black hole, Corey quickly realized something troubling. The amount of celestial force required to pull this off was far beyond what her mortal body could handle.
Even with the help of the world’s will, if she went through with it, she would succeed in cutting the black hole out of existence. But the celestial force needed to do that would tear her body apart in the process. She would save the world, but she would die doing it.
Having died once already and resurrected just today, the irony of dying again on the very same day she thought she had defeated death was not lost on her.
Even so, Corey never once considered running away now that she had the power to deal with the black hole. Borrowing all the celestial force she needed from the world’s will, she pushed her body to its limit and used Dice one final time. With her dying breath, she cut the black hole out of existence.
She sacrificed herself and died a hero’s death without anyone ever realizing what she had done for them.
