Chapter 3192: Assurance & Regret
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Azorheim, Temporal Cave Valley, Temporal Cave No. ES3030
I stopped my spiraling thought process, recalling a saying from back on Earth: ’Learning without thought is wasted effort, thought without learning is perilous.’
Everything I was thinking right now wouldn’t even be considered speculation, but blind imagination. There was no data apart from the fact that those Soul Pathways and arrangements of the World Calamity Seed could trigger bloodline awakening in one of them. Therefore, all that was nothing but me imagining things.
That had to be the case, as it was simply too absurd considering everything I knew about the Myriad Realms.
So, I calmed my spiraling mind and, along with Hive Spirit, used the data from these simulations to pinpoint the Soul Pathways and arrangements of a World Calamity Seed responsible for triggering bloodline awakening. Incredibly, though, they did not provide the data needed for awakening within myself.
I planned to undergo World Calamity Seed bloodline awakening right now to see what would happen. My predominant bloodline was the Cursed Primordial Bloodline, but I still had my human, Viltronian, Celestial, and World Calamity Seed bloodlines. So, as long as I knew which buttons to press, I could induce the said bloodline to awaken, except for the Cursed Primordial Bloodline, which, like the Origin Source, continued to elude me.
The simulation might have only gone as far as triggering a bloodline awakening, but I had it on informed authority that there was a chance I could fail to awaken my World Calamity Seed bloodline and suffer a backlash, ending up taking a step back in my World Calamity Seed evolution.
I had just managed to unlock the fourth transformation of my Soul Gem, Viltronian Calamity Titan, gaining a decent Innate Calamity, World Devouring Plague. I didn’t want to lose them. Because who knows how long it would take me to collect all the right ingredients to unlock a similar or better fourth transformation?
It was thanks to my Innate Calamity, World Devouring Plague, that I managed to fight Dalia long enough to turn her into my Bloodkin. Otherwise, I would have found out what that cute psycho planned to do with me out of her desire to have a kin after learning that I was part Celestial like her.
I never bothered to ask Dalia about that because I wanted to keep the cuteness of her obsession alive. I had an inkling that after I knew the answers to those questions, all that would be left would be ugly obsession. Because it wasn’t hard to guess what her answer would be. Besides, she was the best elder sister one could ask for. That was what mattered.
Come to think of it, how come she was spamming me through Hive Spirit about her splendid victory against the Snow Elven Crown Prince Thalorien? She performed above and beyond. Even though she had no idea what she was doing and only kept learning on the go, she freaking used everything I had arranged to achieve the best possible outcome, turning Snow Elven Crown Prince Thalorien into a Bloodkin.
I was so proud of her. But I was more proud of the fact that she wasn’t using Hive Spirit to spam me about her victory. As much as I loved that, I was getting worried because that was not the big sister I knew.
So, mid-experiment, I had Hive Spirit check on her, only to learn that the reason she didn’t contact me was that she believed I was fighting Maestro Matteo in the Dark Realm. Not surprising, as I had indeed asked Hive Spirit to tell her that if she were to request my help. With everything I had arranged for her, it should have been fairly easy for her to turn Thalorien into a Calamity Daughter Gem. Besides, if things were to go sideways, I was always free to be her reinforcement.
The whole point of this was to show them that they didn’t need me. They were all fairly capable on their own, if not, they knew someone other than me who could.
Yes, Dalia was limited to void in the immediate vicinity of the Lil’ Red Storm Realm. But the Snow Elven Crown Prince wasn’t. As bloodkin, he was a lot stronger than he was before. Even in ruler class, not many could be a threat to him. And those who could were extremely rare and busy with their own things to spare any attention for a backwater realm.
It was thanks to this assurance that I was able to do as I pleased in the Myriad Realms. Case in point, the Realm of True Evil and the Owlape Empire. I won’t go into detail, but the Mulias Royal Family would have been able to use the Card World or any of the other realms I owned against me if they wanted to. That, and the fact that I knew where their Crown Prince was and that they were growing a World Calamity Tree in the Realm of True Evil.
This assurance was also why I was prepared to try and awaken my World Calamity Seed bloodline, even though I could fail at the risk of going down a step in its evolution or even die, though only in extreme cases. It was one of many possibilities. Just like in the case of the astronauts stepping on the moon, I think they had a higher chance of dying than I did trying to awaken my World Calamity Seed bloodline.
But even if something were to go wrong, I would be leaving knowing I did everything possible to secure the lives of my loved ones and those who put their trust in me.
However, there was one thing I would regret, and it was that I could not give Anna the child she was hoping for. There wasn’t much she asked from me, and when she did, all I could say was to wait.
Resolving myself, I used pure soul energy I had previously extracted from primordial energy to excite the soul pathways and arrangements that would trigger an awakening in my World Calamity Seed bloodline.
