As soon as I excited the soul pathways and arrangements of my World Calamity Seed bloodline, I received a prompt from my Unranked Grimoire. However, before it finished, a glitch occurred, and the next thing I knew, the scenery around me had changed to a white landscape. I was no longer in my Temporal Cave. My entire World Calamity Tree body had been teleported to some dimension that was boundlessly white. The ground, sky, everything was white. At the horizon, all I saw was white. There was no sun, no moon, all I could see was white. Even the fact that I was able to see here was beyond me.
As the question, ’Where the fuck am I?’ went through my brain, I realized something even more concerning. When I tried to access my soul energy to activate my soul pupils, I could not feel it, not even an iota of it. The same occurred when I tried to access rule power or spiritual energy. I could not sense my Soul Gem nor the pseudo soul gems in each cell in my body. Heck, I could not sense the Origin Source anymore, forget summoning primordial energy.
Then I wondered if I wasn’t physically present here but mentally. I was in some kind of mentalscape. That would explain the landscape and why I couldn’t sense my Soul Gem and the Origin Source.
That seemed like a weak conclusion, considering that I could sense my World Calamity Tree body, just not the Soul Gem in it or the Origin Source at the centre of the Myriad Realms.
It definitely wasn’t a mentalscape but a dimension with its own rules that didn’t allow me to sense my own Soul Gem and was far enough from the Origin Source that I couldn’t sense it.
’I was no longer in the known Myriad Realms. Or I wasn’t even in the Myriad Realms!’
Unless there was a place in the unknown part of the Myriad Realms where one couldn’t sense the Origin Source, which I highly doubt, I was in a dimension outside of the Myriad Realms. I know even I wondered what I was smoking. But the fact that I couldn’t sense the Origin Source heavily pointed to that. Because even when using the Time Vestige of Morningstar University to go back into the past, I was able to sense the Origin Source of that timeline. Regardless of where you were in the Myriad Realms, one thing was always constant: the Origin Source. As it was the center of the Myriad Realms, the original reference point for the Myriad Realms, and not the Dark Realm like the Dark Races liked to believe.
Or earlier, I wasn’t imagining things, and just like everything in the Myriad Realms came from the Origin Source, the World Calamity Seed also came from a source. And it was in the Unknown Myriad Realm where one couldn’t sense the Origin Source.
Based on the information I currently had, it was either of the two. Figuring out which one it was or whether both were wrong wasn’t important. What was important was how I could go back now.
Right now, I was as helpless as a tree. At least before I became a Card Apprentice, I had limbs to walk and do things, but now, I was a tree.
Yes, one of the most destructive trees the Myriad Realms had ever seen, but without its core, it was no different from other trees, except for its exceptional fragrance that could bewitch any creature.
I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs to express my frustration, but I couldn’t even do that because I didn’t have a mouth. All I had was roots, branches, leaves, and a huge trunk.
I calmed myself down, thinking there was no point in thinking like a man when I was in a tree body. So, instead of trying to do what a man would do, I decided to do what a tree would do, or in this particular case, what a World Calamity Tree would do.
A World Calamity Tree would produce fruits and trees to spread its innate fragrance as far as possible, waiting to lure unsuspecting prey and drop a fruit for it to eat its daughter seed and become its eyes, nose, and mouth.
Before I asked the question, ’Was there someone other than me in here I could lure?’ the important question that needed to be asked was, ’How do I even produce fruits and spread my fragrance in the air?’
I guessed it was just like how humans instinctively learned to walk, through a process that was a unique blend of hardwired biology and physical practice.
As for whether there was anyone in here, as a tree, that was out of my control.
I could only be a patient fisherman until I reeled in a fish or there was a new development ahead.
For now, I would rather try something than keep whining.
Basically, I was going to be here for a while. Or so I thought. All I needed to do was think about it, and I produced a dozen fruits, and my fragrance began to fill the air. I guessed the World Calamity Tree’s hardwired biology was more user-friendly than that of humans.
I don’t know how much time had passed, but finally, I sensed a creature being drawn toward me by my fragrance.
As it drew nearer, I began to make out its figure. It was a pixie, to be more accurate, a Dark Pixie.
But then again, I wondered what a foolish and weak creature like the Dark Pixies would be doing in here. Or was it a Primordial Pixie from the myths that happened to look like a Dark Pixie?
No, the stupid, smug grin on its face that screamed it was up to no good was a signature brand of the Dark Pixies.
Well, Primordial Pixie or Dark Pixie, it didn’t matter as long as it ate the fruit, swallowed the daughter seed and became my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth in this realm.
