Chapter 2650: Chapter 2650: Flee To See Her Daughter
The white aura binding the creature tightened all at once. A piercing, inhuman shriek tore through the room, sharp enough to rattle the air itself. A second later, everything fell silent.
The creature collapsed inward, its massive form shrinking rapidly before condensing into a small, dark sphere no larger than a marble, which remained suspended in midair. Yu Qi looked at the object floating before her. Then, with a slight, elegant flick of her fingers, the dark sphere disintegrated into nothingness.
The creature was gone, as if it had never existed at all. The dark red aura vanished, and the white aura flowed back into Yu Qi’s body. Yu Qi turned her gaze toward Sang Yuling. In response, Sang Yuling let out a broken, jagged sob.
"You... The luck that you have stolen will now be returned to its rightful owners." Yu Qi declared.
Hearing that, Sang Yuling’s eyes lit up as she looked at Yu Qi. Her face twisted into a shocked expression.
"What? You mean my daughter will..." Sang Yuling did not dare to finish her sentence.
Yu Qi did not respond.
"No... No... It cannot be like that." Sang Yuling shook her head frantically. "My daughter needs to be at the top!"
"Do you intend to find another master to help you steal the luck of others?" Yu Qi asked coldly.
"I..." Sang Yuling did not dare to speak of the matter further.
Yu Qi chuckled darkly. "If you try to steal the luck of others again, your daughter might suffer even worse mishaps."
"What?" Sang Yuling was horrified.
"Did Master Chunwei not tell you about this? Stealing the luck of others repeatedly will eventually cause grave harm to the receiver, which, in this case, means your daughter. Oh... and I should remind you that your daughter has probably fainted at this very moment." Yu Qi stated.
"What? Fainted? What is going on with my daughter?" Sang Yuling crawled toward Yu Qi, desperate for answers about her child.
"She is likely suffering the backlash from summoning that creature. That Master Chunwei actually intended for that creature to take over your daughter’s body. If I had not come here today, he might have succeeded." Yu Qi explained.
Sang Yuling turned deathly pale. She needed to see her daughter immediately. She rushed out, fleeing the place. While on the way, her phone began ringing. She glanced at the screen and saw it was her daughter’s friend calling her.
Her daughter’s friend never called her phone directly. If she were calling now, it meant something terrible had happened. Remembering what Yu Qi had just said, Sang Yuling knew it must be related. She answered the phone immediately while driving.
"Hello, Auntie. It is me, Linlin. Auntie, something has happened to Gu Niang." Jiang Linlin said as soon as the call connected.
"What happened?" Sang Yuling asked in a total panic.
"I don’t know. We were reviewing study materials together when suddenly Gu Niang just fainted. I tried to wake her up, but she did not regain consciousness. I asked my father to bring her to the town clinic. I tried to call you many times before you finally answered this call." Jiang Linlin explained.
"I am sorry. There was no signal at the place I was at earlier. How is Gu Niang? Is the doctor checking her? What did the doctor say? Is she awake yet?" Sang Yuling threw a barrage of questions at Jiang Linlin.
"I don’t know." Jiang Linlin said.
"Then what is the use of you!" Sang Yuling screamed, raising her voice at the girl.
Jiang Linlin’s father, Jiang Duan, heard the outburst and frowned deeply. He immediately snatched the phone from his daughter’s hand.
"Madam Ji, please do not raise your voice at my daughter like that. You should come to the town clinic as soon as possible. Your daughter is here." Jiang Duan said firmly and ended the call right there.
"Dad..." Jiang Linlin called out softly.
"Don’t be afraid. You have done nothing wrong. There is no need to answer her call if she tries to call you again." Jiang Duan said, patting his daughter’s shoulder comfortingly.
Sang Yuling was furious when the call was cut off. She tried to call Jiang Linlin again, but that brat would not answer anymore. Having no other choice, Sang Yuling had to speed up, heading straight to the town clinic.
She was worried sick about her daughter. She remembered Yu Qi’s warning. Her daughter was suffering a backlash because of that creature. Finally, Sang Yuling arrived at the town clinic. She rushed inside.
"Where is my daughter?" Sang Yuling demanded of the nurse at the registration counter.
"Madam, please calm down." The nurse said.
"Tell me now! Where is my daughter?" Sang Yuling screamed directly into the nurse’s face.
"Madam Ji, calm down. The doctor is still examining your daughter." Jiang Duan stepped up, trying to pacify Sang Yuling. He then turned to the nurse. "She is the mother of the girl I brought in earlier."
"Oh... Madam Ji, Miss Ji is being examined by our doctor. Please be patient." The nurse said.
"Tell me where she is right NOW!" Sang Yuling shouted again, slamming her hand onto the table.
The nurses looked at each other in distress.
"Alright, Madam Ji, please follow me." Another nurse chimed in.
She stepped out from the registration counter and led Sang Yuling to one of the examination rooms. She knocked once and pulled the sliding door aside.
Seeing her daughter lying on the bed, Sang Yuling rushed in.
"Gu Niang, my daughter..." Sang Yuling cried out her daughter’s name and patted her face gently.
Sensing no response from her daughter, Sang Yuling turned desperately to the doctor.
"Doctor, what is going on with my daughter?" Sang Yuling asked.
