Chapter 2720: Thinking That She Had Been Transmigrated Into Another World With Her Mother

Chapter 2720: Chapter 2720: Thinking That She Had Been Transmigrated Into Another World With Her Mother

The moment Sang Yuling heard those bewildered questions, her body stiffened slightly under her daughter’s gaze. A deeply complicated, pained expression appeared on her face. She honestly did not know how she should go about explaining everything that had happened to her daughter.

There were simply too many bizarre things to explain, from spiritual dimensions to corporate greed. More importantly, she did not even know how to tell her daughter the true, sinister reason all of this had happened to her in the first place.

"Mom?" Ji Gu Niang called out again, her voice wavering when she noticed her mother’s strange, heavy silence.

Sang Yuling could only look back at her daughter with an extremely complicated, sorrowful expression. Ji Gu Niang frowned slightly, a sense of unease settling into her chest. Before she could press for another answer, a crisp knock suddenly resounded from the room’s wooden door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The unexpected interruption temporarily broke the awkward, heavy atmosphere stretching between them. Sang Yuling stood up, quickly wiping the remnants of her tears away, and walked over to open the door.

A young female disciple belonging to the pavilion was standing outside, bowing politely.

"Mrs Ji, Master Lou would like to know whether you and Ms Ji would like to have breakfast served now. If you wish, I can gladly bring the food directly here for both of you." The girl stated in a gentle, respectful manner.

"Yes, please. That would be wonderful. Also, could you please inform Master Lou and the others right away that my daughter has finally woken up?" Sang Yuling requested immediately, her voice urgent.

The young disciple’s eyes widened slightly in pleasant surprise at the miraculous news.

"I see! I will go and inform Master Lou right away. I will also make sure to prepare a nourishing breakfast specifically for Ms Ji as well." The girl replied with a bright smile.

"Yes. Thank you very much, I truly appreciate it." Sang Yuling thanked her sincerely.

The disciple nodded politely before turning on her heel, leaving quickly to deliver the joyous news to the upper echelons of the pavilion. After the girl departed, Sang Yuling slowly closed the door, letting out a soft sigh before returning to the bedside.

"Mom, can you please tell me where we are right now?" Ji Gu Niang asked once more, refusing to let the matter drop. This time, her tone carried an obvious, sharp layer of anxiety.

She was honestly starting to panic internally. That girl from earlier... She had been wearing some sort of traditional uniform that looked remarkably similar to the flowing clothing worn in historical period dramas.

Then, all of a sudden, something her close friends used to joke about during their late-night chat sessions flashed vividly through her mind.

Transmigration.

Could it actually be possible? Had she somehow passed away unexpectedly in her sleep and transmigrated into an ancient, unfamiliar world and inexplicably brought her mother along with her for the ride?

"Mom... What on earth is going on?" Ji Gu Niang asked, her voice sounding slightly strained and laced with an underlying panic.

"Let’s wait until after we’ve had breakfast. I promise I will tell you absolutely everything then." Sang Yuling stated gently, trying to soothe her daughter’s mounting anxiety.

Not long after that brief exchange, another crisp knock echoed from the heavy wooden door. Sang Yuling immediately stood up from her chair and walked over to open it, eager for any distraction.

The disciple from earlier had returned, carefully carrying a large wooden tray filled with steaming bowls of food.

"This light porridge is specifically prepared for Ms Ji." The disciple explained politely with a gentle bow. "Ms Tang explicitly instructed that she should eat this first, since it has been a very long time since her body last had a proper meal. Ms Tang warned that if she eats anything too heavy or solid right now, her weak stomach might become severely upset."

"I see. Thank you so much for your hard work and thoughtfulness." Sang Yuling nodded gratefully as she accepted the heavy tray from the disciple.

The disciple smiled politely back before taking her formal leave down the corridor. After closing the door securely, Sang Yuling carried the tray over to the wooden table before picking up the bowl of warm, fragrant porridge and bringing it over to her daughter’s bedside.

"Come now. You should eat something first." Sang Yuling stated softly.

"Mom, I am perfectly fine. I can get out of bed and eat with you over at the table." Ji Gu Niang said, shifting her weight to move.

Sang Yuling immediately shook her head vigorously, stopping her in her tracks. "No, absolutely not. You just woke up from a long sleep. Stay exactly where you are and let me personally feed you the porridge."

Ji Gu Niang felt increasingly strange seeing her mother behave in such an overly protective manner. Her mother had always cared deeply about her well-being, but never to this extreme, suffocating extent. Naturally, she could not stop herself from pressing the burning question again.

"Mom, what exactly happened to me while I was out?" Ji Gu Niang pressed the topic once more, her eyes locking onto her mother’s.

"If you really want to know the whole story, then you need to cooperate and eat first." Sang Yuling insisted firmly, holding the spoon up.

"Alright, fine. Then at least let me feed myself. I have already grown up." Ji Gu Niang said.

Ji Gu Niang reached out her hand, fully intending to take the ceramic bowl directly from her mother’s hands. However, the exact moment she attempted to lift her arm, she completely froze in shock.
