Chapter 2738: Chapter 2738: Brute Force
Shaking his head in utter annoyance, the middle-aged man turned around and walked back inside, slamming the door.
Not far away, Yu Qi and Long Hui quietly observed everything.
"What is your plan of attack?" Long Hui asked, a knowing smile tugging at his lips.
"Brute force." Yu Qi answered without a single shred of hesitation.
"Oh..." Long Hui nodded in approval. "Sure."
The exact moment the words left her mouth, Yu Qi moved. Her figure flashed forward with terrifying speed. Before the nearest bodyguard could even register a shadow, her fist slammed directly into his face.
Crack!
The man’s nose immediately shattered under the force. Blood gushed out instantly. His eyes rolled backwards into his head as he lost consciousness and collapsed heavily onto the hard ground.
"What the hell is going on?!" Another guard shouted in absolute shock, drawing his weapon.
Unfortunately for him, he never received an answer. A split second later, he suffered the same brutal fate. One by one, the elite guards were taken down systematically before they could even comprehend what was happening to them. Some of them attempted to fight back, swinging wildly, while others frantically tried to call for backup. One particularly desperate bodyguard rushed toward the house, intending to bang on the door and alert the middle-aged man inside.
Unfortunately for him, Long Hui appeared before him like a ghost out of thin air. The man was knocked completely unconscious before his hand could even touch the wooden panelling.
Inside the house, the middle-aged man remained completely oblivious to the massacre occurring in his yard. After returning indoors, he had already put on his high-quality, noise-cancelling headphones and was comfortably watching a television drama on his phone. As a result of the technology, he failed to hear a single sound from the outside world.
After all the guards had been successfully dealt with, Yu Qi took out a small glass bottle from her pocket.
"Let them drink this." Yu Qi said coldly.
Long Hui accepted the bottle without asking a single question. He immediately went down the line, pouring a portion of the liquid into each unconscious bodyguard’s mouth.
Aoi tilted his head curiously, watching the process. "Master, what exactly is that medicine?" He asked through their bond.
"It is one of my special, custom concoctions." A malicious, chilling smile slowly appeared on Yu Qi’s face. "It will cripple their meridians permanently, prevent them from ever walking properly again, and completely destroy their ability to have any descendants."
Aoi blinked his large golden eyes. Then he looked down at the unconscious men lying helplessly on the ground. For a brief moment, he actually felt a twinge of pity for them. Crossing paths with his master when she was angry was truly a terrible, irreversible fate.
Once everything was finished, Yu Qi turned toward the silver wolf. "Aoi, deactivate the invisible mode."
"Yes, Master." Aoi immediately complied, stepping back into the spiritual space.
Yu Qi then focused her profound spiritual sense entirely on the house. A moment later, she completed a quick, thorough scan of the interior. Only two living pulses remained inside. One was the middle-aged handler, and the other was Tang Qin Hao.
Yu Qi stepped forward onto the porch, her eyes narrowing. Then, she raised her leg.
Bang!
Her powerful kick landed squarely against the reinforced front door. The heavy, locked barrier instantly exploded inward into countless flying wooden fragments. She no longer cared about hiding her presence. The time for stealth had passed.
At that same moment, the middle-aged man inside happened to be removing his headphones to grab a drink. Hearing the incredibly loud crash from the foyer, his brow furrowed in anger. At first, he assumed the incompetent bodyguards outside were causing trouble again and prepared to walk out to scold them.
However, the moment he looked up, he froze completely in his tracks. Standing amidst the shattered, smoking remains of the doorway were Yu Qi and Long Hui, looking like gods of retribution.
The middle-aged man’s eyes widened in sheer shock.
"Who the hell are you?!" The middle-aged man shouted, panic seeping into his voice.
His hand immediately moved toward his chest holster. In one smooth, practised motion, he drew a black pistol and pointed it directly at Yu Qi and Long Hui.
"Talk!" The middle-aged man barked, his hands steadying. "Otherwise, I will shoot both of you right where you stand!"
However, neither Yu Qi nor Long Hui appeared concerned in the slightest by the deadly threat. The gun in the middle-aged man’s hand might have frightened ordinary civilians out of their minds. Unfortunately for him, the two people standing before him in the ruined doorway were anything but ordinary.
"Well, shoot if you want." Yu Qi bluntly provoked the middle-aged man, her tone completely calm and dismissive.
The deadly weapon held firmly in the man’s hand meant absolutely nothing to her. In her sharp eyes, it was no more threatening than a child’s plastic toy.
"Young girl, you are truly courting death!" The middle-aged man shouted angrily, his knuckles whitening around the grip.
The blatant contempt radiating from Yu Qi’s eyes instantly ignited his temper. Without wasting another word on negotiations, he ruthlessly pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The deafening gunshot echoed violently throughout the enclosed walls of the house.
However, the expected scene of blood and violence never happened. The middle-aged man’s eyes widened to the size of saucers in absolute disbelief. The bullet had been stopped dead in its tracks. No, more accurately, it had never even managed to reach its intended target.
Standing right beside Yu Qi, Long Hui had effortlessly raised his hand. The spinning brass bullet now hovered completely motionless in mid-air directly in front of him, suspended as though it had violently collided with an impenetrable, invisible wall.
