Vampire's Slice Of Life

Chapter 1202: Call of the Wind

Chapter 1202: Call of the Wind

The Asura Ancestor’s eyes flickered, what thoughts went behind them were something only he knew.

"You possess our Asura’s bloodline but it is mixed with one of..." The Asura Ancestor scowled. "...it’s the bloodline of that traitorous bitch."

Lith had no reaction and continued to stare at him. He felt nothing from the insulting words. For one, he did not consider himself an Asura or a member of the EGC. Those words were all in vain.

Finding no reaction, the Asura Ancestor spat at the side and said, "To think that I would be awakened by someone of such filthy blood. I’d much rather not be awakened at all."

There was some truth to his words. He really disliked the Evure woman who cheated on him and went on to create the EGC.

"You speak an awful lot for someone who’s just awakened." Lith commented nonchalantly. "To kill your last descendants only to awaken yourself, tch, such a scum."

Lith shook his head in disappointment.

The Asura Ancestor wasn’t offended, rather, surprised by Lith’s comment.

"You sure act haughty despite knowing you’re about to die." The Asura Ancestor smiled and showed his half decayed teeth.

Lith crossed his arms and stared at him with a bored expression. "You’ll kill me with that half-baked body of yours?"

The Asura Ancestor frowned. He pointed a finger at Lith and said, "Kill yourself."

Red strings descended down from the void of space and coiled around Lith’s limbs.

Against his will, his hand grasped his neck as his sharp nail slightly dug into his skin.

"Is this your personal ability or that of the Asuras in general?" Lith asked, unamused by the scene.

The Asura Ancestor frowned further. He could clearly see that his ability wasn’t working.

"How are you resisting an Upper Realm’s technique?"

Lith shrugged and stood up, dusting off the strings attached to him.

"Who knows? Maybe the Upper Realm is filled with trash that only know how to scheme against their own descendants and use chuuni words as their main source of offense."

The Asura Ancestor trembled. "No one... no one has ever dared to disrespect this ancestor even in the main clan..."

The skin under the Asura Ancestor wriggled as if there were worms squirming within.

In a split second, his entire upper body melted and flowed down on the ground, turning into a disgusting mass of flesh and blood.

Lith knitted his brows and summoned spears of Destruction element, piercing the grotesque blob of flesh.

There was not a single scratch and the blob continued to transform into a humanoid figure.

An extreme sense of danger loomed above Lith’s head, as if a timer of his death had gone off.

Taking a step forward and using Short Jump, Lith reached the transforming blob.

He placed his hand on the blob and softly chanted: "Call of the Wind".

A storm tattoo on his inner arm swirled and came to life, flowing out of his arm and going through his palms inside the blob.

A demonic screech resounded from the blob the moment the storm touched it.

Lith took a step back and distanced himself.

The demonic screeches turned into bone-piercing screams. It was so chilling that Lith felt his hair stand on their ends.

"Noooooooo—! How!?!"

The blob flowed backwards to the place it came from and the Asura Ancestor was back in position with half his body emerging from the magic circle.

"How are you able to wield Calamities!?!" The Asura Ancestor had a horrified expression on his face, as if he had just experienced the most terrifying moment of his life.

Lith didn’t answer and simply tore apart his left hand’s sleeves, revealing multiple black-colored tattoos exuding a chilling pressure.

"WHAT!?!" The Asura Ancestor screamed as if he had just witnessed his family getting massacred.

His ears were ringing from the calamity he just took upon. He couldn’t even imagine what would happen if more of those were unleashed on him.

’Even my main body will be wiped out!’ The Asura Ancestor thought internally and decided to disappear from this realm.

He sunk back in the magic circle but would Lith allow him to leave now?

Of course not.

Lith’s eyes changed color into a deep crimson as ancient sigils appeared on them.

He took a step forward and reached the Asura Ancestor, grabbing his hair with his hand.

"Look carefully. This is how you use bloodline abilities." Lith said calmly as he stared into the man’s trembling eyes.

[Psych Puppetry]

The Asura Ancestor’s mind was severely disturbed and [Psych Puppetry] finally had a chance to invade him.

The Asura Ancestor lost control of his mind but it was for a mere thousandth of a second as the strength disparity between the two was too high.

This instance was enough.

Lith sent another Calamity within the man’s body and took a step back.

The Asura Ancestor’s eyes regained clarity, only to show an expression of pure terror.

"Ahhhhhhhhh—!"

Blinding light seeped out from the seven orifices of the Asura Ancestor as he screamed.

Soon, he couldn’t even think as his mind turned blank and the light engulfed his entire being.

.....

In the Upper Realm, within a dark chamber lay thousands of jade tablets. They were ancient and exuded mighty pressure, representing the people they belonged to.

A man sat on a chair on a raised platform, his eyes half-closed as he lazed around. He was a servant whose job was to keep watch on these stone tablets.

A few moments passed.

Among the stone tablets exuding stronger pressures than most, one of them began having cracks, alerting the sleepy servant.

His eyes snapped open and he gazed at the stone tablet.

"What..."

Before he could make out the situation, the stone tablet exploded with a thunderous boom and shook the entire chamber.

"Good lord... how am I going to explain this..."

The servant was sweating bullets.

Before he had the chance to inform the higher ups, light flickered beside him one after another as multiple strong figures emerged from them.

"Elder Lian Jingxi..."

They all muttered the same name and began divining the cause of this incident.

Soon, a dripping sound was heard in the room.

Everyone’s ears perked up as they turned to the source, only to see a tall man’s blood dripping on the ground. He was bleeding from his nose as he continued to divine with his eyes closed.

"Elder Lian Meng, stop it at once!" One of the figures in the room shouted.

"A Calamity... there was a Calamity involved..." the tall man kept his eyes closed and muttered. The more he said, the more his nose bled, and the paler his complexion became.

Everyone let out a collective gasp.

The room fell silent.

It was only when the tall man named Lian Meng fell with a thud that everyone came to their senses.

A burly figure having the upper part of his daoist robes hanging upside-down around his waist snapped his fingers, summoning a few servants.

"Tend to Elder Lian Meng’s wounds and start an investigation on Elder Lian Jingxi’s death."

The people in the room gave the man a curt bow and disappeared, leaving only him and the servant guarding the tablets in the dark chamber.

The man folded his hands and said his thoughts out loud.

"Who could be the one able to wield Calamities as he pleases..."

.....

"Cough... cough..."

Lith broke into fits of coughs, throwing up lots of blood as he staggered in the Asura Palace and made his way out.

"The backlash was too severe!" Lith cursed as he kept his eyes closed and moved outside the palace.

His face had dried up tears of blood and his eyes stung so much that he couldn’t even open them. He was sure that he had gone partially blind from using his skill [Psych Puppetry] on an enemy much much stronger than himself.

The Asura Ancestor had already ascended to the Upper Realm. Through his descendants, he had a chance to send his clone to the Lower Realm and take over it again, but the plans were foiled by Lith.

The one who emerged from the magic circle was not him but a split soul of his in a cloned body.

Even though it was a clone, its realm was much higher than this Star system’s Legendary Rank.

If it wasn’t for Lith meeting all the right conditions, he wouldn’t have been able to defeat the Asura Ancestor.

If he hadn’t found the code embedded within the curse placed on his descendants and modified it, the complete clone of the Asura Ancestor would’ve descended and wrecked havoc everywhere.

Even Fei, Sylvia, and every other Legendary Rank combined may not be able to stop him.

Lith really saved the entirety of Shen Ze in one way or another. This was bound to give him lots of good karma.

As Lith got out of the Asura Palace, the restrictions were gone. He could contact Fei and Sylvia now.

In a few moments, space ripped itself as a Witch and a Seer emerged from it.

"Master!" The two exclaimed as they saw the beat up state Lith was in.

They immediately began tending to him and while getting carried away from the Asura Palace, Lith sensed the tattoos on his body and tried feeling them.

’Just... What are you Calamities? How did a puny person like me end up wielding you? You, the ones who could even kill a god from the Upper Realm through a simple clone of his...’

There were many questions in Lith’s mind.

For now, he was dead tired and succumbed to slumber.
