Chapter 1223: What A Cheat

"And here’s Mayzin..."

The projection showed a bloody magic circle in one of her underground chambers.

Inside it, she tossed a heaven-defying treasure.

Dark clouds covered the skies of Dragon Continent.

Dagassi, the former Dragon Emperor, was quietly sipping coffee in his office.

The past few centuries have been hard for him, and with Mayzin ascending further, he had become a subordinate of hers with his Emperor status gone.

He did not control a few dragon tribes anymore, he controlled all of them... for Mayzin.

He dealt with all the troubles they had without actually having the power to control them.

All authority lay with Mayzin and she had a final say in everything.

Even though he was a Supreme Rank Dragon and aging wasn’t a thing, his sideburns had turned grey and a few wrinkles were visible at the side of his eyes.

At this moment, it thundered outside his castle.

A screeching sound then resounded.

Dagassi looked outside.

An egg slowly descended from the skies.

It cracked.

A small chalice appeared from within.

As it fell down, almost an ocean flowed out of it.

The Dragons in the continent cried and screamed in terror.

Dagassi sighed.

He took a sip of his coffee and ventured outside, leaving the still full mug on the table.

Lith looked at Lilith.

"A lot of abnormal things are happening. What’s going on?"

"You’ve heard of the Upper Realm by now, yes?"

Lith nodded.

Lilith explained these events being related to them.

After this world joined Shen Ze and Lith’s aunts ascending to Legendary Rank, they felt a deeper connection with the Heavenly Laws and understood a lot more things.

As they tried to comprehend the next realm, they found themselves being pulled into the Upper Realm and being rejected by the Heavenly Laws of the Lower Realm.

However, the world’s standards had shot up. An average person had a high cultivation compared to the rest of Shen Ze’s worlds and even the elemental energies were in abundance.

Any more, and the world would break past the threshold and ascend to the Upper Realm too.

Lith found this concept quite intriguing and asked more.

Lilith explained further that Agalea, Lucifer, and Mayzin made use of what they had to anchor themselves to this world and not get rejected by the Heavenly Laws if they tried to break through.

These anchors of theirs were being used to derive a higher comprehension, and naturally as the Dao flowed, the anchors became capable of communicating with the Upper Realm’s laws.

This allowed for exchange between the beings of Upper Realms.

The three ladies got vital information from the people who ventured to this world.

The Upper Realm was not a safe place and ascension might get them killed, so it was better if they came in contact with some power and got a backing before ascension.

Agalea’s World Tree, Lucifer’s Abyss and Nine Floor of Hells, Mayzin’s treasures...

All of these were no ordinary things and attracted a lot of attention.

For Agalea and Lucifer it was passive, meaning they didn’t need to do anything and they’d get the attention, but for Mayzin, she had to throw away her treasures to get it.

The attention came in different forms.

Elves were gentle in nature and nobody was hostile to her. She was forming connections with the higher elven powers easily.

The Heavenly Court’s pillar of light had projections of the higher entities appear. Most were benevolent and kind but a few were offended to see the worms of Lower Realm trying to reach them.

She did not bother to see her Hell and Abyss because those places were powerful enough to handle themselves.

The Devils and Demons of higher realm could not descend on their own so they sent their incarnations to the Abyss.

Lucifer’s Abyss was a fragment of the actual Abyss in the Upper Realm, and as the Dao flowed through it, the Abyss was starting to establish a stable connection with the Upper Realm’s fragments.

Maybe some day it would join the other fragments or maybe other fragments would flow into it.

This was something only Lucifer would know.

As for Mayzin, the treasures she threw, if they caught the interest of the Upper Realm Dragons, then they would send eggs to the Lower Realm.

The eggs acted as carriers.

They brought a wide variety of things the Lower Realm could handle, helping them strengthen to ascend.

Sometimes, the things being sent were not necessarily good or helpful.

This thus became a gamble and Mayzin did not seem to want to stop gambling anytime soon.

She was comprehending meaning from all items coming out of the eggs.

"I hope they have their breakthroughs soon," Lith hoped for nothing but the best.

Lilith nodded.

She took a sip of tea, and after placing the cup down, gazed at her son seriously.

"Yes?" Lith asked.

"My dear," Lilith’s tone was neutral, "you need to hurry up whatever you’re doing because your aunts are close to achieving their next breakthrough. This means, the world would ascend to the Upper Realm."

"Hm?" Lith’s eyes flickered.

"If you stay out of the world’s boundaries when this happens, you will miss the ascension. To get to the Upper Realm, you will need to break past the Legendary Rank which will take a long time."

Lith raises his eyebrows in amusement.

"Does this mean anyone who is within the world barrier will ascend along?"

Lilith nodded. "Anyone. If others find out and invade us, they will get a free ride to the Upper Realm."

"That’s certainly troublesome," Lith agreed. "What else do I have to keep in mind?"

Lilith gave it some thought and said, "There’s a few things. For instance, everyone who ascends with the world will undergo ascension by one realm. It will bring a lot of chaos, so you need to be prepared."

"One realm? I’ll become an Emperor Rank?" Lith asked, baffled.

"Yes." Lilith nodded.

"What a cheat, haha..."
