Chapter 643 - 12: Archipelagos Above the Sky

Chapter 643: Chapter 12: Archipelagos Above the Sky

Before their eyes, it suddenly opened up!

An extraordinary spectacle of dazzling colors and surreal scenes, breathtaking in its splendor, burst into view the moment they broke through the stormy cloud wall!

No longer the violent thunderclouds, no more the monotonous rainbow-colored clouds.

What appeared before them were islands suspended in the boundless void!

These islands completely overturned the understanding of “islands”!

They were not rooted in any “land” or “ocean”, but like gemstones casually left by the Creator Gods, floating in the layer upon layer, ethereal “air domain” that was so clear it was almost void!

As far as the eye could see, the differences in shape and size of the islands were astonishing!

The smaller ones were like solitary peaks, with diameters of only a few hundred meters, entirely covered in strange fluorescent moss and vines that emitted a gentle glow, like green lanterns adorning the void.

The larger ones were as vast as small continents, stretching endlessly beyond view, seemingly tens or even hundreds of kilometers long!

On them could be seen undulating, densely forested mountains, with trees that were not purely green, their leaves shimmering with golden, silver, purple, and blue, exhibiting a dreamlike metallic sheen, swaying gracefully with the invisible currents as if cloaked in flowing gowns.

You could even see “mountains” made of giant crystal clusters, refracting billions of dreamy, multicolored beams under a gentle celestial light whose origin was unknown, tinting the surrounding space with magical colors!

The space between the islands was not empty.

Rainbow-like light bridges, like ribbons made substantial, connected the nearby islands; rivers of liquid starlight or colorful auroras flowed through the void, silently nourishing everything along their path; in some places, the space itself was slightly distorted, forming slow-spinning, semi-transparent vortices, as if they were mysterious portals to other islands.

The forms of life in this floating world were even more unimaginable!

“Birds” were simply inadequate to describe the creatures here. Flocks with butterfly-like colorful light wings and long, glowing tail feathers elegantly skimmed past the crystal peaks.

Creatures resembling giant rays, completely translucent, with liquid starlight flowing within their bodies, gliding through the void as if swimming in water, their “fins” stirring up stars with each movement.

There were even elf-like beings composed entirely of flowing mist, constantly changing shape, frolicking along the island edges, their laughter as crisp as wind chimes.

You could even see enormous “flying snakes” woven from living vines, coiling lazily around the gigantic crystal pillars at the island edges, basking in the “sun” —

Which was no real star, but a colossal energy source at the center of this strange air domain, radiating warmth and a constant, liquid gold-like light! Its glow bestowed eternal daylight upon this floating world, bathing everything in a divine and dreamy golden edge.

“Oh… my god…” Annie was pressed against the cabin window, her small mouth forming an O shape, her wide eyes reflecting the breathtaking scene beyond imagination, so awestruck she was almost speechless, left only with a raw exclamation, “So… so beautiful… like… a world in a fairy tale! No, a million times more beautiful than any fairy tale!”

Naliti was utterly entranced as well, her lake-green eyes filled with pure enchantment and reverence. As an elf close to nature, she could feel the majestic and strange life force contained within the floating islands, a rhythm belonging to the sky, different from the forest earth, free and magical.

She murmured softly, “Goddess above… is this… the secret realm of the sky?”

Lynch stood in front of the window, his gray eyes captivated by the strange spectacle of the floating islands. Even with his knowledge as a Domain Wizard, this surreal, dream-like scenery before him was awe-inspiring.

Floating islands, glowing forests, crystal mountains, flowing energy rivers, rainbow light bridges, and bizarre creatures “swimming” in the void… all elements intertwined to create a magical painting existing only in the wildest dreams. The brilliant “celestial light” poured down, making every detail shine with an unreal luster, magnificent to the utmost and strange to the utmost.

“Beautiful, isn’t it!”

Kong walked over, looking at the exquisite scenery ahead, also with a slight smile on his face: “The Sky World indeed holds many landscapes unimaginable on land, scenes that overturn common understanding and logic to those living on the ground happen here.”

“After all…”

After a pause, she continued, “There are two entirely different sets of rules operating between here and the land.”

“Under different rules, different orders, different ecosystems, and different structures emerged, ultimately forming different domains, precisely these diverse domains before us.”

She looked ahead in admiration and said, “All things in the world, everything operates on rules.”

Rules…

Lynch silently chewed over Kong’s words in his heart.

While it seemed to describe the beautiful scene of the Sky World before them, didn’t it also reveal the true essence of this world?

“Let’s go, let’s move forward,” Kong said after a pause.

The Flying Aircraft continued towards the archipelago ahead. After shuttling among them for a few days, they soon landed on a larger island; according to the coordinates given by the narwhal, this should be the place.

The enormous rotor of the “Cloud Whale” slowly reduced its speed, emitting a deep hum, like the breath of a tired giant beast.

Below was a massive and tranquil lake.

The lake water was unbelievably clear, reflecting the bottom of the floating islands above, the flowing rivers of energy, and the eternal golden “sky light,” presenting a dreamlike multilayered spatial scene.

The Flying Aircraft chose to land gently on a relatively flat ground by the lakeside, covered with soft Fluorescent Moss. The instant its massive landing gear touched the ground, it stirred a subtle vibration and a dimly glowing mist formed by moss spores.

“Whoosh!”

The cabin door slid open, and the fresh air mixed with moist water vapor, strange floral scents, and rich, pure Life Energy surged into the cabin, invigorating the spirit.

Annie was the first to rush out, like a playful young deer, jumping on the soft glowing tundra, exclaiming joyfully, “Wow! It’s so beautiful here! Even the air smells nice! Look, Sister Naliti! There are glowing little fish flying in the lake sky!”

Naliti followed closely, her lake-green eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. She crouched down, her fingers gently brushing the layer of blue-green glowing moss on the ground, feeling the life rhythm within, so different from the terrestrial forest, softly marveling, “The goddess is merciful…such pure and extraordinary vitality…”

Frankenstein’s massive body clumsily moved out of the cabin. It seemed very interested in the glowing moss, carefully poking it with its huge fingers, causing a cluster of light points to scatter.

Lynch and Kong were the last to step out of the Flying Aircraft. Lynch surveyed the surroundings, his gaze sweeping over the shimmering, peculiar lake, the Dream Forest glittering with metallic luster in the distance, and the further contours of mountain ranges shrouded in soft mist, like crystal swords piercing the golden sky. The serene and beautiful environment here was a world apart from the chaotic sea of thunder they had traversed before.

“The core area the coordinates point to is in the depths of that forest,” Kong’s voice broke the silence. She pointed to the dense, seemingly endless strange forest across the lake.

Lynch nodded, his gray eyes looking at Annie and Naliti: “Annie, Naliti, you stay here with Frankenstein and take care of the Flying Aircraft. Although this area seems tranquil, it’s still an unknown place. Do not stray far from the lakeside clearing, and return to the craft immediately, initiating the highest protection if any anomaly arises.”

His voice was calm yet carried an undeniable authority.

Though Annie reluctantly glanced at the mysterious forest, she obediently nodded, “Got it, teacher! I’ll be good!” Naliti solemnly placed a hand over her chest and saluted, “Rest assured, Mr. Lynch, I will guard Miss Annie and the craft well.”

After the instructions, Lynch and Kong exchanged a glance and said no more. The two of them moved like wisps of smoke, swiftly gliding over the clear lake surface, their toes only causing faint ripples in the water before lightly landing on the edge of the forest that gleamed with metallic sheen.

“Let’s go.”

As they spoke, they stepped into the dense forest that flowed with an unusual aura. Their figures were quickly swallowed by the tall, strange trees, the drooping glowing vines, and the pervasive pale golden mist, as if they had blended into this ancient, mysterious secret realm.
