Chapter 671: Chapter 4: Strange Kong Device
Faced with Gulwige’s eyes that seemed to pierce through the soul, and that inquiry aimed directly at the core, Lynch’s heart skipped a beat. The system, this was his biggest secret, an ace that must never be revealed.
He took a deep breath inwardly, forcibly suppressing the waves in his heart, and lifted his head, his gaze sincere yet with an undeniable persistence, meeting Gulwige’s eyes. His voice remained calm as usual, but the pace was slightly slower, revealing due caution:
“Master Gulwige,” he slightly bowed, his tone respectful yet firm, “When I accepted Fran’s invitation and decided to come here, Dean Abbas, on behalf of Fran, had solemnly promised me—our cooperation is based on trust and mutual benefit, and Fran would never seek the roots and secrets of my personal abilities.”
This was negotiated before coming to Fran, and it was the prerequisite for his agreement to come to Fran, otherwise he wouldn’t have left his nest for anything.
He paused slightly, observing the other’s reaction, while also emphasizing the foundation of their cooperation: “This is the premise for me to choose to cooperate with Fran and trust Fran’s order. I believe, with your and Dean Abbas’s status and vision, you would not go back on your word.”
The choice to cooperate with Fran, to choose Fran as his backer, was certainly partly due to their formidable strength, but mainly due to their credibility. Would such a thing as reneging really happen?
He cleverly tossed the question back to the other party, serving both as a reminder and an invisible insistence.
Fortunately, the worst did not happen.
Upon hearing this, Gulwige not only did not show any sign of being offended or displeased but instead let out a low and gentle laugh, which seemed to contain the rhythm of the stars.
“Hehehe…indeed, such is the case.” He nodded lightly, a flash of appreciation in his eyes, “Everyone has their own Secret Garden, especially for wizards who have reached our level. Promises are contracts, Fran respects contracts, and also respects the uniqueness of every collaborator. Since this was the condition agreed upon originally, I naturally will not force a person to do something against their will.”
His words carried a transcendent openness, as if the question that was enough to startle any wizard was merely pure academic curiosity, rather than some form of coercion. The mirror shards around him gently rippled, quietly dissipating the suffocating pressure.
“In that case, let us skip this segment.” Gulwige smoothly transitioned, immediately changing the subject, his manner becoming formal, “The reason we invited you here this time, aside from getting to know such an outstanding young person like yourself, is indeed to make an untimely request, perhaps… needing to employ your unique abilities.”
After a pause, he solemnly stated, “This concerns Fran, and it concerns the entire Wizard World, it concerns the future of all beings on this land.”
Lynch’s heart slightly steadied, and he promptly said, “Please speak, Master. As long as it is within my capabilities, I will definitely do my best.”
Gulwige said nothing more; he merely waved his hand gently.
In an instant, Lynch felt like the scenery around him shattered like broken glass, collapsing and reassembling! The mirrored corridor of the myriad worlds, the boundless void space, instantly disappeared.

When his vision stabilized again, he found himself in a room of an entirely different style.
This place was more like an extremely precise and advanced alchemy laboratory. The room was a perfect circle, with walls, floor, and ceiling cast from an unknown dark silver metal, and its surface flowed with tiny, unceasing energy circuits. The air was filled with the scent of ozone and a particular briskness characteristic of a high-concentration energy core.
And in the center of the room, something was suspended.
It was an extremely complex and precise Alchemy Creation.
It was composed of numerous nested concentric rings of various sizes, made of different materials, some as transparent as crystal with energy currents surging inside; some resembled fragments of stars, twinkling with faint light; others were pure metal, etched with densely packed, nearly invisible space runes.
All these rings rotated and revolved at different speeds and along different axes, yet without any physical contact, maintaining an extremely exquisite dynamic balance. Together, they formed an ever-changing, incredibly complex multi-dimensional structure, emanating a power fluctuation that seemed capable of distorting space itself.
Upon seeing this instrument, Lynch’s pupils constricted suddenly!
This object…
The structure, appearance, even some key energy node arrangements of this object bore an astonishingly high resemblance to that unknown artifact he had completed by hand in the Time Hut, according to Wizard Somda’s last instructions!
Although the runes flickering on it seemed somewhat different, their core architecture was virtually identical.
“What is this…?” Lynch couldn’t help blurting out, his voice tinged with unmistakable astonishment and doubt.
Gulwige’s gaze remained on Lynch, naturally not missing the fleeting confusion on his face.
“Oh?” Gulwige’s voice sounded calmly, “Judging by your reaction…have you seen a similar structure somewhere?”
Lynch’s heart tensed, instantly reigning in all outward emotions. Wizard Somda, Time Hut, that unfinished artifact… these were also his untold secrets, and he wasn’t planning to tell anyone.
He immediately shook his head, revealing a just-right expression of curiosity and puzzlement toward the unknown: “No, Master, I have never seen such… a brilliantly intricate creation. It’s just that its structural principle… seems to vaguely resonate with some of my rudimentary understanding of space, leaving me feeling very… shocked and curious.”
He cleverly attributed his lapse to a marvel at the knowledge itself, rather than recognizing something. He then smoothly inquired: “What exactly is this?”
Gulwige’s deep gaze lingered on Lynch’s face for a moment, as if judging the truth of his words, but ultimately did not pursue it further. He floated forward slowly, as though looking at the most outstanding child of his, watching the slowly rotating complex creation.
His voice became unprecedentedly solemn, even carrying a faint, almost imperceptible, reverence.
“It is the Truth.” Gulwige said slowly, “The Truth of Space.”
He paused, as if deliberating over words, then added a sentence that sounded earth-shattering to Lynch:
“Or perhaps…”
“It is the future.”
“The future of the Wizard World.”
