Chapter 712 - 18: Advancement

Chapter 712: Chapter 18: Advancement

Time quietly slipped away amidst focused cultivation, battle, and research, like sand through fingers, hard to grasp. In the blink of an eye, another one or two years have passed.

To the world outside the tower, this might not seem long, but for Lynch, it has been an incredibly fulfilling and rewarding period.

During this time, his strength has seen a tremendous improvement.

Primarily, of course, in the aspect of the Knowledge Law.

[Space Law lv36]

[Decay Law lv38]

[Time Law lv29]

All three Domain Laws have seen significant improvements. The Space Law and Decay Law have both surpassed the thirtieth level and are heading towards the fortieth, leaving the Time Law slightly behind.

The difficulty level of the Time Law is a bit higher, and even within the Lost Tower, knowledge fragments related to it are relatively scarce.

But to be precise, the domain knowledge fragments inherited within the Lost Tower are actually the foundational knowledge at the Domain Level.

For instance, “Alola’s Domain Formula” and “Philman Rune Arrangement” are such.

These contents are like the basic structures of a Magic Model, existing as necessary content to study and comprehend across all domain paths, which is why they have brought Lynch common progress in all three domains.

Aside from the Knowledge Law, undoubtedly, the next biggest improvement is Lynch’s analysis of the “Death Storm” within the Lost Tower.

[Death Storm lv2]

The black Death Tornado pervades the entire Domain Level, with an abundance of research samples. Each analysis and research session brings Lynch a substantial increase in skill level.

The knowledge structure currently analyzed has reached a skillful level, with just one more step to reach mastery.

However, since this is a rule-based spell, Lynch himself does not possess Rule Power, so what is released is currently just a simulation, far from the true intensity of a Death Storm.

But the energy released is already comparable to the Mid Domain. Lynch is confident that once it maxes out to the mastery level one step further, it will undoubtedly possess power comparable to the Late Domain!

Two years have passed, and on the barren, desolate, enemy-ridden hazardous ninth level, with perseverance, wisdom, and the assistance of the Time Hut, he finally completed a thorough sweep of the entire level.

When the hourglass shadow representing the ninth level in his Sea of Consciousness was completely filled with the last “grain of sand,” emitting a perfect shimmer, Lynch stood on the charred earth that had just calmed from an energy storm and took a long breath.

Without much sentiment or delay, he adjusted his state and set his sights on the entrance leading to a higher level—a Teleportation Gate, suspended over the ruins, flowing with a deeper, mysterious light.

He stepped in, and the familiar sensation of spatial transformation came over him, though this time, the rule pressure was distinctly heavier.

The scene before him suddenly opened up.

The familiar desolation and lifelessness were instantly replaced by an overwhelming, almost suffocating vigor!

What appeared before his eyes… was a forest.

Indeed,

The ninety-first level unexpectedly was a boundless and unimaginably ancient primeval forest!

Towering trees shot up from the ground, with canopies layering upon each other, blocking the sky and the sun, almost completely obstructing light from the upper space. Only some scattered and broken spots of light manage to tenaciously pierce through the leaves, like golden fragments falling onto the dim forest floor.

The air was humid and stuffy, filled with a strong, complex scent blended with humus, exotic floral fragrance, and a certain unknown creature’s presence. Thick vines wrapped like giant pythons around tree trunks, with some even blossoming with enormous flowers emitting bluish or greenish light, providing the sole light source for this shadowy world.

The ground was covered in a thick layer of fallen leaves accumulated over who knows how many millennia, soft and silent underfoot, but potentially hiding deadly swamps or predatory fungi beneath. Various strange and never-before-seen ferns and shrubs grew thick, occasionally rustling with sounds as though countless pairs of eyes were watching from the shadows.

The energy environment here had also profoundly changed, with abundant life energy intertwined with a more ancient, primitive law, forming a powerful domain suppression. Lynch could sense that his Triple Domain seemed repelled by a sort of “vitality” here, operating more sluggishly than on the ninetieth level.

“A dense forest… is this a domain dominated by the Law of Life?” Lynch hovered a few meters above the ground, cautiously surveying the new and perilous surroundings, gray eyes filled with vigilance and curiosity.

Unlike the direct death and destruction of the ninetieth level, here seemed vibrant yet hid even more sinister danger. The twisted trees, glowing vines, and even the soft moss beneath might instantly transform into fatal killers.

He slowly descended, stepping onto the thick layer of fallen leaves with barely a sound. His Spirit Perception spread out like mercury pouring down, meticulously probing the surrounding energy flow and signs of life.

Indeed, in his Perception, this forest seemed like a huge, living whole.

Every tree and every blade of grass seemed connected through a vast network of underground roots and spiritual links, emitting a weak yet unified will. Some life forms hidden in the shadows had energy strength reaching the Domain Level, seamlessly integrating into the environment, like the most patient hunters.

With a thought, Lynch’s system panel silently unfolded, a new hourglass shadow slowly condensing, waiting to be filled.

He took a deep breath of the air filled with wild vitality and gripped the Ifrid’s Sword in his hand. The flames on the sword seemed dimmed by the change in environment, requiring more energy to maintain…

“Hmm?”

At that moment, Lynch seemed to sense something, a glimmer of surprise flashing in his eyes as he immediately halted his steps, turning his head in a direction.

At the edge of his Spirit Perception, he suddenly caught a clear and powerful spiritual power wave, rapidly approaching his location!

This spiritual power was not unfamiliar to him, in fact, it was quite familiar—fiery, sharp, with an unstoppable momentum, yet exceptionally well controlled, devoid of hostility, more like a clear signal.

Lynch immediately paused, a look of confusion appearing in his eyes.

In a place like this, how could he encounter her?

Rustling—

Nearby, the dense shrubbery shook, and a robust vine was neatly pushed aside by a hand wearing metal gauntlets.

Soon after, a tall and athletic figure emerged from the shadows.

The characteristic fiery red hair was simply tied back, with a few strands falling beside her spirited cheeks. She wore close-fitting leather armor for mobility, draped in a light traveling cloak bearing the Ela Family’s emblem, still holding the antique-looking Cross Sword in her arms.

It was Vannie Ayla.

She seemed to have gone through quite a journey, with a slight sheen of sweat at her temples, breathing a bit more swiftly than usual, but her eyes, like red gemstones, shone with an amazing brightness, locking directly onto Lynch as if finally finding a long-sought target.

She flicked her fiery red hair, a relieved yet slightly complaining expression appearing on her face, and her voice, clear and straightforward, broke the ancient forest’s silence:

“Whew! Finally found you, Lynch Valen!”
